Beautifully written and full of magic. I really enjoyed this book.

Hotel Magnifique is a magical hotel that changes location every night (kinda like The Night Circus), it's full of magical rooms, magicians and most importantly, deep dark secrets. We follow Jani as she and her sister, Zosa, leave their old life behind and get jobs in the mysterious hotel.

The beginning is a little bit meh as we get used to the ever adapting hotel and we get to know the characters but as the book goes on and we find out more about the characters pasts and the hotels secrets it definitely picks up, especially the last 100 or so pages, which are full of action and twists you don't see coming. I couldn't put it down!

Thank you NetGalley for the arc!

Thank you so much to Pushkin for sending me a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

I adored this story so much! It had all the magic and whimsical and dark storytelling i was looking for and set in a magical hotel nontheless! I loved Jani and how strong she was and would stop at nothing to get to Zosa. I loved the sense of found family as well and how each character was their own and not one dimensional like you see in alot of stories. i can't wait till May so i can talk about how much i adore this book!

Thank you to the publisher for letting me read via Netgalley.

Enjoyed this story, beautifully described the writing transported you to this magical, luxurious hotel filled with wonder and mystery, then slowly revealed the cracks and sinister secrets within. Jani reminded me of a little of Chihiro from Spirited away, give me a job! I liked that her priorities remained with her sister always no matter what else was happening.

This was a beautifully written story full of lush description and magic crackling on every page. I loved the hotel setting, and the French flair of the magic system. The story isn't too complex, we know that there are cracks beneath the hotel's sparkling veneer, but it was a joy to watch the truth unfurl as the book went on. My only quibble is that the romance was a little under developed for my taste, but not to an extent that it took away from my overall enjoyment.

(Many thanks to Netgalley and Pushkin Press for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.)

This was truly an enchanting book! The world-building was full of mysticism and terror, as Jani enters the legendary Hotel Magnifique, which changes location every night, and houses some of the most powerful magic users. Jani and her sister enter the hotel to escape their old lives, and enter a new life of beautiful chaos. However, the seemingly perfect hotel hides sinister secrets, which Jani slowly begins to unravel, embarking on a quest to discover the true price paid to remain in the hotel, and save her sister from the seemingly unbreakable contract she entered into. The author sets a fantastic pace, hinting at the troublesome truth of the hotel, through hauntingly absent servants, and the frustratingly vague doorman Bel, which concludes in an explosion of plot twists, drama, betrayals, and love.

I finished this book in under three hours, as I simply could not put it down! The story unravels itself dramatically, and tension fills every chapter. The heart-stopping adventures of Jani kept me on the edge of my seat, as her passionate and stubborn nature are impossible to not love. The relationships in this book were fleshed out wonderfully - Jani and her sister Zosa are caring yet bicker, and Jani and Bel have a sizzling chemistry which is repeatedly tested by the secrets of the hotel.

I adored this book, from the front cover, to the storyline to the characters to the setting, I loved it. So well written and the descriptions were so vivid and decadent I felt like I was in the pages. A really enjoyable read
