Mind numbing.
Jo Lawless is still grieving her husband when his oldest friends invite her to a weekend houseparty in France. She’s always felt like an outsider in the group but she decides to go, hoping their shared loss will bring them closer together. But the weekend is disrupted by the arrival of an unexpected guest, whose presence brings old tensions to the surface. Long-buried secrets begin to emerge, and it’s clear that at least one person is bent on revenge… The cold light of morning reveals a horrifying discovery. And the killer isn’t finished. A storm is coming, and no one at this party is safe…
Wow what I just read. Fabulous isolation thriller where a group is cut off from the world with a murderer in their midst.
I adored it.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK Harper Fiction for giving me an advance copy.

OH MY GOSH THIS BOOK WAS GOOD. It was such a gripping read that I read in one sitting I couldn't put it down. Twisty and unpredictable and full of suspense. It was fast paced and tense, I loved it.

Stunning…
A weekend in a lavish French chateau, a house party. A group of friends that were her husband’s. Jo decides to attend the anniversary party despite her reticence. After all, she was never really accepted by these people but she goes. For Oliver. The chateau is incredible. As it always was. The people are appalling, their wealth stifling, their attitudes often disgraceful. They are, without a doubt, dysfunctional in so many ways. And then. Storm. Everything that they have ever known is about to change. They will learn that money cannot buy everything. That some things are simply too precious and that actions must come with consequences, however they are delivered. Secrets and revenge will out. A stunning suspense which truly delivers in droves, in every single respect from the perfectly crafted and all too credible cast of characters to the tangled web of intrigue and the perfection of the plot. Outstanding.
