A compelling read with lots of twists and turns. Great to revisit some familiar characters from previous Lewis novels and see how they are involved in the disappearance of an infamous book editor. Kept me guessingm very enjoyable.

Another great book by this author. Each chapter is told from a different perspective. There are also dual timelines. The characters are well developed. This book mixes a contemporary novel with a police procedural.

I've read a few books by Susan Lewis now and although this one I found a bit different to her others I really enjoyed it. The characters were portrayed really well and I liked the way their lives intertwined.
The book is set in a small community during covid , a local lady Jeannie goes missing and the race is on to try and find out what has happened which introduces us to lots of colourful characters who all seem to have something going on that they would rather keep to themselves.
A really good read.

Another great story from Susan Lewis, a very easy read but one that kept me guessing until the end. I always enjoy this style of writing, where the story is told in multiple points of view and in different points in time and where you slowly get to find out more about the characters and about what happened.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for letting me review this ARC.

You assume you're secure.
Neighbors you think you know.
But can you truly uncover the truth?

Jeannie Symonds commands attention—an eccentric, celebrated publisher confined with her husband during lockdown near Kesterly-on-Sea. Seemingly blessed with it all—stellar career, blissful marriage, beloved niece.

Then, she disappears.

Enter Cara Jakes, a determined trainee investigator, partnered with detective Andee Lawrence to unravel the enigma of Jeannie's vanishing. Cara delves into the tight-knit community, certain that someone guards a secret.

A true thriller captivates, keeping readers on edge, and this delivers exactly that. The tension is gripping from the outset, with twists and turns that defy expectation, making it impossible to set aside.

The characters are richly drawn, the author's skill at sowing doubt about trust and hidden truths is masterful. The pacing is impeccable, balancing action and suspense to rivet readers. The writing style evokes scenes and emotions with precision.

The author's meticulous world-building enhances the book's allure. This exemplifies the thriller genre, a page-turner that holds readers in suspense until the last page, ideal for fans seeking a riveting read.
This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and I would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

Jeannie Symonds is happily married to Surgeon Guy and they have two children. All seems well until Jeannie goes missing!!

I loved this book and how it kept me guessing until the end.

Thank you to Netgalley fir a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Jeannie and Guy have it all, money, lifestyle and a good marriage. When Jeannie goes missing, who has the answers? Neil and Estie live closely, but Essie and Jeannie fell out so there is no love lost there! Flies and Neil used to be married but now Guy is confiding in Fliss.
With a lot of interconnecting characters and relationships, this book has a lot of information to keep up with. It was well written and grabbed my attention to the end.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. Unfortunately I did not finish this book. Despite enjoying a lot of her previous work, I found this very slow going and difficult to get into.

I love Susan Lewis books, and this one focused on the disappearance of Jeannie Symonds.

The setting of the book during Covid meant Jeannie and her husband Guy had been staying in their holiday home, when she suddenly disappeared.

The many different characters and their intertwining lives were sometimes a little confusing for me. Once I figured out each character I began to enjoy the book and its plot.

Although this was a slow burner for me. I did enjoy the many twists and turns throughout the book and I was guessing and second guessing throughout.

Susan Lewis strikes again !

Wow what a read.

Loved the tooing and froing of timelines, loved the characters and of course it was completely gripping.

The only complaint with Susan Lewis reads is they are over too quickly - but thanks to you I got an early copy so the wait was less - thank you - could not have enjoyed this book anymore and cannot wait for the next one

Who's lying Now is a story full of secrets and mystery among a close knit community during lockdown. An engrossing story which went back and forth to past and present timelines..
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.
I was kept guessing until the very end.

As usual in my reviews, I will not rehash the plot...

I've read quite a few novels by Susan Lewis, and always enjoy them; so I was delighted to receive an ARC of this title.

This was an enjoyable read, set once more in Kesterley, and featured a number of characters from earlier novels, including Andee Lawrence. This time we learn more about their backgrounds, and hidden secrets are revealed...

The book is set during one of the Covid lockdown periods, and the atmosphere reflects that time - a vague feeling of disquiet if you did anything that would previously have been "normal", and an increased vigilance of other people's actions within one's neighbourhood - quite claustrophobic at times...

The plot is well thought out, with plenty of Susan's signature twists and turns! I always enjoy books of this genre that keep you guessing rather than laying everything out on a plate.

Looking forward to reading more by Susan Lewis!

My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC. All opinions my own.

And she does it again! Susan Lewis is an absolute mastermind at leading you in one direction when the answers you're after are in the complete opposite direction.

Jeannie Symonds is a rather eccentric award winning publisher spending lockdown with her Surgeon husband Guy. The couple have two homes but choose to spend Lockdown in their country house during this time.

A woman who seemingly has it all... Jeannie suddenly vanishes. Not completely unusual for Jeannies character but this time she doesn't return.

Cara Jakes is a new Trainee Investigator is teamed up with Andee Lawrence to investigate the disappearance and separate the truth from the lies and secrets of which Cara feels there are many.

Set within a close knit community all living through the Covid Lockdown it's a setting that we can all relate to after living through the past couple of years.

Each chapter is told through different perspectives and through a dual timeline of past and present.

As always the characters are flawlessly written and it was lovely to see some familiar Kesterly characters brought in.

An engrossing multi-layered tale full to the brim with masterful characters and with a very satisfactory ending.

Huge thanks to netgalley and Harper Collins UK for the ARC.

I have been a fan of Susan Lewis books from the beginning and this only didn’t disappoint. This book is set in the familiar place of Kesterley, during lockdown in the pandemic and we also meet up with some previous characters. Jeanie is a well known publisher and is married to Guy who is a surgeon. They have moved out of their London home and are spending lockdown in their second home in Kesterley. Whilst Guy is back working I. London Jeanie simply walks out of the house and disappears. Detective Andee Lawrence is brought in to investigate Jeanie’s disappearance and she teams up with a new trainee investigator Cara. Nobody seems to have seen Jeanie and it is a complete mystery what has happened to her. When questioning the residents of Kesterley Cara feels that there are hidden secrets in the community. The story is told in the past and present and from various perspectives. As the case unravels past relationships and misdemeanours are revealed with plenty of twists and turns along the way. Another great read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collins for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Wow!! Susan Lewis is an absolute gem and definitely a favourite author of mine. This is a book that I’m unsure how a written review will show just how utterly brilliant this book is. I am a huge fan of Susan’s books, this is definitely a contender for a favourite.

This book takes us back to Kesterly. It’s full of characters who are connected to each other one way or another. This is definitely unpredictable, it’s so clever how Lewis has developed the characters.

I have been kept guessing throughout this one. There’s no way I could work out where this was going. We are told the story through multiple perspectives which I always like- gives us a real insight to the characters.

This is well written and completely addictive. I’ve been pulled in completely and unwilling to put this one down. I have loved the secrets and lies among the close knit community.

Susan Lewis is just absolutely brilliant and I’m always excited for new releases. This one definitely hasn’t disappointed. This is definitely one for the TBR.

Set during the recent covid restrictions we’re once again back in Kesterley on Sea, where Andre Lawrence has been asked to look into the disappearance of Jeannie Symmonds. Jeanie is a successful business woman who along with her surgeon husband has been spending the 2nd lockdown in her holiday home in Kesterley, when she suddenly vanishes. With the police saying there is nothing they can do her husband Guy calls on Andee for help. She in turn manages to enlist help from Cara a trainee working for the police. I will admit I found this a stretch. The police won’t help but then they send Andee to Cara and then in turn set her up in an investigation room?! I appreciate it was set during the covid restrictions but I felt at times the scene setting describing various rules and regulations irritating and a little over the top, although I guess this may be needed for future readers and because it’s all too fresh for me it just seemed unnecessary.
I’m finding it hard to review without giving too much a way but let’s just say the outcome was of no surprise to me and I felt it was a little predictable.
That said it was an easy read and I enjoyed it

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this title
