Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the advance read of this book. I just loved the setting of this book and was wishing I lived on the Isle of Skye. What a heartwarming read with plenty of twists. Caitlin has such a close relationship with her daughter.
I laughed and cried in equal measure, brilliant book! I recommend this book and give it 4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I look forward to Lisa's next book!

I really enjoyed being back in the fictional village of Glentorrin once more which is a warm, friendly and supportive community. It was good to spot some familiar faces from previous books but this is easily read as a standalone novel as the focus is on Caitlin and her quest for romance. The gorgeous descriptions of the island landscape made me want to visit Skye again. We did manage a day trip on a gloriously sunny day last year and this book has really whet my appetite to go for a longer visit.

I particularly liked the focus on family in this book. Caitlin's situation with her daughter was quite unusual and sensitively explored. I thought it was great that she was determined to make the best decisions for herself and Grace. The strong bonds between mother and daughter were clear and lovely to read about. The whole issue of what makes a family and what is important in a family unit is a feature of the book and it's clear that love and stability are essential. The bonds between mother and daughter were clear and lovely to read about.

As Caitlin dips her toe back into the world of dating (as well as the Fairy Pools!) there are a variety of potential suitors for her. There are plenty of missed opportunities, misunderstandings and bad timings which make you wonder if Caitlin will ever get together with her perfect man. As a reader you know exactly who that should be and when she does, you can't help but be delighted for her.

This was a very entertaining and warm-hearted romance. It was quite funny in parts, particularly when it came to what some of the children said, but was also rather emotional sometimes. The cleverly written epilogue made me smile! I really enjoyed Wishing Under a Starlit Skye and hope that the author has more visits to Glentorrin planned.

I was thrilled to discover that this book was going to finally tell Caitlin’s story, couple that with learning a little more about Archie Sutherland, and this may be my favourite in this series.
Caitlin has been a wonderful character, so far, and her kindness has proved to be infectious as each book has brought newcomers to Glentorrin, who have been quickly charmed by a variety of delicious baked goods. Archie has also featured in the previous stories as his outdoor clothing, campsite and computer wizardry have all been essential to the day to day in this idyllic village.
It’s difficult not to be drawn to Caitlin’s character, and as we learn more about her childhood, her parents, and Grace’s father, it’s obvious why she has remained single for so long. Through the local singles scene, Caitlin and Archie strike up a lovely friendship. They’ve been acquaintances for years, but neither of them really knows the other. As their friendship grows, it’s clear that no matter what, Caitlin can always rely on Archie and vice versa.
It’s through Grace, that Caitlin finds herself in a relationship with Lyle Budge. Lyle is the father of Grace’s best friend, and their relationship moves quickly, but as the synopsis explains Lyle is not all he seems to be.
I particularly enjoyed learning about Caitlin’s choices which led to Grace being born, and Archie’s secret being shared. My mind did leap ahead, but I’m glad to say that my vivid imagination fell wide of the proverbial mark.
As is usual, with Lisa’s writing, this story is filled with well developed characters and plenty of regulars. I thoroughly enjoy a series where familiar characters feature, and this is a great example. Glentorrin is a destination that I would happily escape to. The folks are friendly, and the bakery is sublime.

⛺⛺🔭The perfect family, however it's created: gem of a heartwarming story🌌

Author Lisa Hobman has a winning combination here! The heartwarming mother-daughter closeness, the search for romance, the supporting small town community of friends and the lovely setting on the Isle of Skye all come together in a great, sweet story. Much more than in some of her recent novels set on Skye, Hobman has included the unique sights and dramatic landscapes of Skye as an active backdrop and I loved all of the references to the Quirang, the Black Cuillins, the Fairy Pools, Dunvegan Castle, the Portree waterfront, the clear and starry skies, etc. Made me want to go back for another, longer visit for more exploring!

Caitlin, the strong female lead, decided in her late twenties that she wanted to be a mother and made it happen. Now her adoring daughter Grace is on the verge of her teen years and Caitlin has decided she can think about finding romance after focusing for so long on her daughter and her business. Her venture into dating brings some suitors and some surprises but it also brings her closer to Archie, a kind, generous bachelor neighbor who she starts seeing in a different light. When Archie is knocked sideways by his past catching him unawares, Caitlin and Grace find themselves stretching out their hands to help the man who never hesitates to aid others.

I loved the storyline, the pace and Hobman's easy writing style. Such a lovely tale of small community life and the challenges of putting oneself out there in the search for love. I can't get enough of this series and hope Hobman keeps returning to little Glentorrin and its convivial residents.

Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Thank you #netgalley and #boldwoodbooks for allowing me to read this ARC.
What a wonderful book, full of heart and emotion.

We meet single mum Caitlin or Cait to her friends who has a 13 year old daughter Grace. Her mother doesn't always agree with her daughters decisions and as such has a big fall out. She reminded me of Hyacinth from Keeping up Appearances.

Caitlin and her daughter Grace share a very tight bond and have no secrets between each other, which as a single mum myself felt real and true.

Being an unconventional family is something I really do connect with as a person and the way this is portrayed really spoke to me. Friends do really become a family you never expected to have.

Jules, Morag and Ruby the ex Hollywood actress feature beautifully and demonstrate true and honest friendship, love and care for each other.

After Caitlins mother passed away she sold her parents B & B after redecorating it and used the money to improve her own life.

She runs her own bakery and is an amazing cake maker.

Now that her daughter is older, she realises that she should pay more attention to her love life and starts going to singles nights and speed dating, whilst avoiding dating apps. Being on that boat myself I couldn't agree more on apps and dating these days is quite something else and not in a good way.

She starts dating Lyle, single dad to Cora who is Grace's best friend.

Handsome Archie Sutherland also presents himself as a very suitable candidate. He is supportive and caring and so helpful and kind.

With many twists and turns, a few gorgeous dogs and lots of things to think about this makes for a very wonderful and relevant read.
My only niggle was that at 13 Grace still needed to have an adult looking after her at all times, it can be overlooked as it ties in with the storyline.
Can't wait for the next Lisa Hobman book and this isn't even released yet. #blogtour

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

It was lovely to go back to the village of Gentorrin, Skye. Caitlin, owns a bakery(it was mouthwatering reading about all the delicious treats she baked) and is a single mother to her daughter Grace.

She’s thinking of starting to date, as her daughter is soon turning 13. But, she’s doesn’t want to try dating sites and much prefers meeting people face to face, so she decides to attend a singles night, where things start badly, as her friend Archie, makes her fall as she enters the building.

She starts to date Lyle, the father of her daughters best friend, but it appears he has a jealousy streak, of her being friends with Archie. Are Caitlin’s feeling more than friendship for Archie?

Soon, there’s some decisions to be made for Caitlin as her relationship with Lyle takes an unexpected turn. These decisions bring some happiness for Caitlin, Grace and Archie in situations they hadn’t expected.

I loved this story and all the emotions it brought with the characters.

Nice, cosy, heartwarming: this is Wishing Under a Starlit Skye for you.
Lisa Hobman takes us back to Glentorrin and this time we get to know Caitlin Fraser and her daugher Grace (and also Cleo the Yorkie Poo) better. Lovely how we also get to know Archie better and what a nice character development he has, too. Though we are brought back to the same setting and characters we've met before, this book can be read as a stand alone as well, but be assured that you'll want to go back to the previous ones in order to read them all.
A very cute read, can't wait for the next instalment!

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Wishing Under A Starlit Skye is a novel set in the
beautifully portrayed countryside of Scotland where we follow the story of Caitlin who at 28 decided to have a baby by sperm doner against everyones wishes! We then follow
her life thirteen years later with her wonderful daughter Grace and her quest to find love at forty!

The book is full of wonderful, loving characters that are full of life and you end up feeling like one of the local residents of Glentorrin yourself. You will not only fall in love with Caitlin's character, you will also fall in love with every character (except a minority *cough* Lyle *cough*) that you meet along the way too! It's a beautiful escape full of emotion and humour.

It's a cute, emotional story that will give you all the reels and I'm super happy to have been given the wonderful opportunity by @bookandtonic, @netgalley and @lisahobmanauthor to read an advanced reader copy of this wonderful piece of writing!

Caitlin's is a single mum whose daughter Grace is nearly 13 so decides it's time she started dating again. After trying speed dating which was a disaster she meets up and gets to know a fellow villager Archie better, although at first believes that she only likes him as a friend.
Grace and her best friend decide that they could become sisters if Caitlin marries her dad Lyle so encourage them to go on a date. At first Lyle seems like the perfect partner but his true side starts to show whenever Caitlin mentions Archie's name.
I don't want to say any more as it will spoil the story
A fab read with the ending I was hoping for

Caitlin is a single mum to teenager Grace, and she runs a bakery in a village on the Isle of Skye. She decides its time to start dating again, but will she find true love?

This is a beautiful book. I really like this author's writing style, her characterisation and location descriptions are a joy to read. There was a good mix of characters to dislike and characters to love in this book, and I can't wait to read more books set on Skye!

Caitlin has put her daughter Grace first for the past thirteen years. It is time for to return to the dating scene.

Along the way, she meets many a man but is who she needs starring right under her nose.

Loved the community feel of the island of Glentorrin Skye.

A lovely cosy book that keeps you wanting more from each chapter.

This is the second book I have read set on Skye by this author and I have to say both have been gorgeous reads. The author does a recap with some of the characters, but this latest one could also be read as a stand-alone.

Caitlin and her daughter Grace are two strong and lovely characters. Caitlin has lived on Skye since just before Grace was born. Grace's father is not on the scene and the relationship mum and daughter have is amazing. They are supportive of each other. Friends have been pushing Caitlin towards trying dating, something she hasn't done since before Grace, and Grace thinks it's a great idea.

What better than being in a relationship with Grace's best friends Dad, Lyle. He sounds like such a nice man, supportive of his daughter and such a nice man. Caitlin however mentions how Grace came to be and it doesn't go down as well as she hoped. Not everyone knows about Grace's conception, but then it's not something that Caitlin or Grace have spoken to others about.

This is a fabulous book that I read in one sitting, it was definitely one of those books where I kept saying "I'll just read one more chapter"... and then just kept going!

Being part of a family or choosing to start a family is different for many people, Caitlin is one that decided what she wanted and has done an amazing job by herself, much to the disgust of her mother.

The island community of Skye is a wonderful idyllic sounding one that the author has created. The supporting cast for this story are a wonderful bunch, there when you need them and also to give the odd honest opinion when it is most needed.

As the story gradually led into the main section, it is friends that give Caitlin a nudge, but it is ultimately up to Caitlin to do something about it. This is not just a simple and straightforward romance where two people meet and that's it, no, this is a story that throws up some really interesting scenarios and it makes for such an addictive read.

A story that fans of contemporary fiction and romance will adore. Not the standard romance, or family set up and I think this is what makes this so good, it has a realistic feel to it. It is one I would definitely recommend.

This is a wonderful return to the small village of Glentorrin on Skye, where Caitlin owns the local bakery. As a single mother and business owner, she's always felt too busy for dating, but now that her daughter Grace is turning 13, she finally feels ready. But she's not into the dating sites and decides to go to a local singles night, which literally starts off with a bang when she gets knocked off her feet by longtime friend Archie. When they realize they're both looking for dates they decide to help each other out. Caitlin starts dating the father of Grace's best friend, but the more serious they get, the more Lyle gets jealous of her friendship with Archie. Could she be falling for the boy-next-door?
I read the previous book about Reid and Jules and I was happy to catch up with them in this book and get closer to some of the other secondary characters in town. Archie was the perfect laid back caring man that everyone in town can't help but love. I really loved his character while Caitlin was just average for me. I'm hoping Dexter gets his own book soon?!!
I received a complimentary advance reader copy of this book. The views and opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily

Absolutely Brilliant!!!

This story is the perfect example of how the perfect family doesn’t have to be conventional.

The story has so many twists and turns you are left reeling at times but it’s definitely worth the ride in the end.

Much to her mothers disgust at twenty eight Caitlin decides to use a sperm donor to have a baby. Fast forward nearly thirteen years and Caitlin is ready to start dating.

There are so many wonderful characters that make up this lovely little Scottish village. The scenery is painted beautifully and the characters full of life.

This book is warm, funny and will leave you feeling warm and content.

The absolute perfect book to read with a nice hot cup of tea.

This was not for me. Too much banter referencing past books and the characters all had funky names that were distracting. Didn’t much care for the lead characters story at all.
