While this was not as fun as the previous book it was an enjoyable read. I just wish this book took the time to let us get to know Nathan a bit. We did not really get to know him in the first book so I thought the book about their wedding would actually give us some insight into who he is...but no. He's in like three whole pages of the entire book. We just didn't get to know the characters any better and it still felt a bit surface level.

With thanks to Jesse Sutano and HQ for an advanced readers copy of this book.

5*

I'm OBSESSED with this series. I love absolutely everything about it. I need a set of aunties of my own!

This time we prepare for the wedding of the season, with a whole new set of wedding planners 4 UNCLES.

Jam packed with laughs this series is slowly becoming a go to comfort read.

Four Aunties and a Wedding' follows on from the events in the first book, and we're again reunited with Meddy, her mum and her 4 fierce aunties.

Much like before, I found myself howling with laughter at the aunties' antics, and I'm honestly so glad that I picked up the audiobook because it was SUPERB✨, 10/10 amazing. (Shoutout to the narrator Risa Mei. I will listen to anything she narrates ❤️)

I went in knowing very little, other than the fact that it was Meddy's wedding, and I think that made the reveals all the better. I was so shocked when certain characters revealed their true nature, and the aunties' reactions and schemes were just brilliant 👌😂 The book follows the pattern of the first book somewhat with Meddy running into trouble and turning to her family for help — but I really loved that element from book 1, and it was so funny to hear them relating back to the events in the first book.

I'm not sure if there'll be a 3rd book to the series yet, but I am ALL for it 👏

— Rating: 5/5 ⭐

After reading the first book in this series and finding it fast paced and unique, if more than a little unbelievable at times, I was interested to see what they would do in the sequel. And to see if there would be any repercussions from what happened in book one.
But if you thought that Dial A For Aunties was chaotic, this takes that to a whole different level.
This book didn't even feel all that necessary and as soon as they started talking about the mafia being involved I had to stop myself from rolling my eyes and abandoning it right there and then.
There are books when a lot is happening at once and then there's ridiculously farfetched. And this definitely felt absurd pretty much the whole way through.
Parts of it were entertaining and enjoyable but you have to suspend belief so many times that it almost feels like a caricature of what the author was probably hoping to do with this book. There was just too much craziness for me.
If you were a huge fan of the first book, you may still really enjoy this one but it just didn't have the same magic of the first book for me.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Four Aunties and a Wedding by Jesse Sutanto is the follow up to the best selling comedy caper Dial A for Aunties. This time the setting is England, where Meddy and Nathan, and the Aunties of course have travelled for Meddy and Nathan's big day. Of course things will not run smoothly leading to more than a few laugh out loud moments for the reader as we have a disastrous meeting of the families, over the top wedding outfits, and the small matter of a mafia hit targeting one of the guests . Of course once the Aunties get involved matters swiftly go from bad to chaotic and the perfect wedding day becomes one disaster after another and every attempt to cover up what is going on simply makes things even worse.
I would definitely recommend reading Dial A for Aunties before picking this one up, not only because it builds the foundation of Meddy's romance with Nathan, as well as explaining the complicated family dynamics of the Aunties, but also because I think it is the better book of the two. While this one is also a fun and enjoyable read, it felt like the author was stretching a little too far and seemed a little formulaic in the storytelling. It was still a fun and enjoyable read and I would describe it as a perfect poolside pick me up.
I read and reviewed and ARC courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher ,all opinions are my own.

Unfortunately not my cup of tea; I found the auntie's quite annoying & the drama quite excessive

I haven't read any more of the series & won't be reaching for them anytime soon

This is one of those books which would make an excellent film. Once again we’re with the fabulous cast of characters from the first book only this time Meddy is trying to get through her wedding without her aunties destroying everything. As much as I didn’t think the first needed a sequel I’m glad it was written, it’s such an amazing pick me up and I’m blaming the wee yourself laughing on pregnancy

Firstly.....Love the title!!!
As a Four Weddings fan, I was instantly drawn to this book, true has it nothing on the greatness that is Four Weddings but it's still a fabulously fun and feel-good story.
This is the second book in this series, I hadn't read the first book; Dial A for Aunties, but I had read a lot of great things about it so when this one came along I threw my own rule of not starting a series on book two out of the window and dived right in and I am so pleased that I did.
I am a big fan of dysfunctional family weddings in books, I come from a large family whose wedding can be shall we say entertaining ;-) I loved the aunties, they are a hoot, their trying to learn a few English phrases is hilarious and the shenanigans that go on at Maggie and Nate's wedding are so much fun.
This is a lovely, funny, feel-good book which will have you smiling and laughing.

This was a fun and quick read! If you enjoyed the first book in the series then you're going to love back with these characters and their antics.

Whilst I enjoyed the plot and the story as a whole I do feel like it wasn't needed. I was content with it being a standalone and I don't think this works as a series. It quickly becomes unrealistic and the novelty wears off.

Overall a fun book but I don't think I will be picking up anymore in this series if the author decides to continue on. However I will definitely read more of the authors books as I do enjoy her writing style.

Meddy Chan is marrying Nathan, the man of her dreams in what she hopes will be the perfect day. Everything is going to plan until she overhears her wedding planner discussing taking out one of the guests.

Meddy learns that the whole wedding planner family are mafia but they won't tell her who the target guest is.

Chaos and bedlam ensues when Meddy and her four aunts try to guess the target and make plans to ensure that person is safe throughout the day whilst not telling anybody, including Nathan what is going on.

The description sounded like a good, funny book but it was slow and parts quite repetitive. Not what I was hoping for..

✨What’s the last novel that made you legit laugh out loud?✨

And I’m not talking about the equivalent of putting a ‘lol’ at the end of a message when you’re not even laughing. I am talking about a real laugh out loud here. A voluminous one at that. This series was it for me.

As soon as I received the arc for Four Aunties and a Wedding, I knew I was going to love it. Obviously I had to read Dial A for Aunties first which was absolutely hilarious and completely unputdownable. As soon as I was done, I reached for Four Aunties and a Wedding and finished it within 24 hours. The first half had me stifling my laughter as I was reading in bed past midnight and didn’t want to wake up Mr R and the second half had me 100% engrossed and also wondering how on earth they were going to get themselves out of yet another mess.

If you love a good laugh, I mean…who doesn’t? You’re going to love this one. But you will 100% need to read Dial A For Aunties first as this is a sequel and skipping book 1 means you’ll miss references and history between Meddy and Nathan. There have been some reviews floating around suggesting that the first book is better. Yes, I definitely enjoyed the first one more because of the novelty of getting to know the Chan family for the first time. And while the sequel is of a similar formula, it has its own funny moments that crop up throughout the novel but particularly in the first half.

If you are a child of an immigrant, especially one from the Asian Diaspora, you’re going to relate so hard to this as Jesse Sutanto has created characters that while play up to certain stereotypes are also individual in their own way. Sutanto has been very clear to note that there is no one ‘Asian Diaspora’ experience as there are so many factors that will influence values, traditions and the concept of ‘the way we do things’ which I really appreciated and which you will notice in this sequel.

Pick this one up. You won’t regret it.

What another laugh out loud book. This author is becoming a must read for me I found myself laughing so much reading this. I felt sorry for Meddy for having such a disastrous wedding, but having four aunties like a Meddy’s can’t really be surprised. This was as funny as book 1 and I can’t wait for book 3, please tell me there is a book 3 coming out.

I received the E-ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Highly entertaining book. Not as fast paced as I was expecting but it kept me entertained smiling and frowning while reading it.

It felt a little slow and stretched at times and the ending felt a little packed, some passages could’ve been either erased or summarised in few words, that’s the reason for the 3 stars only.

Having said that, I enjoyed the lovely aunties ways and sweetness their authenticity and family dinamices are oh so adorable. I particularly love the fact that families from the same ethnic backgrounds can have very different ideas of the world around them and its confronted in this rom-com of a book. I’d love to read more books with similar attitudes towards immigrant similarities and differences.

The one carácter I couldn’t deal with was the main character. She’s a bit too uptight and neurotic (granted is her wedding day, and some people get overly dramatic) I just didn’t like her that much (in both books of the series).

I loved the first book in this series so was so excited when i got the ARC for this one. Unfortunately i didnt enjoy it as much as i hoped i would. It fell a bit flat. I honestly feel like it didnt need a second book the first one was so great.

Wasn’t my cup of tea I’m afraid, I didn’t love the first book either. Both books were a chaotic mess

I believe this is the second book but I hadn't read the first one.
It was utterly hilarious and jaw dropping at the same time. I could see this being a TV programme!
Some parts were far fetched but I didn't mind as it was good to read and I couldn't stop laughing. I have recommend this to a friend who also loved it!

This book was a wild ride. Chaos ensued once again with the aunties and a wedding. I loved the Aunties learning English slang. There are so many laugh out loud moments in this book. I love how ridiculous each chapter was getting. The Uncles!!
I read this book in 3 days. I couldn’t put it down and needed to know how Meddy and the Aunties would get themselves out of the latest mess and what shenanigans would happen along the way.
I hope there is a book 3 to this series. We need more Meddy and Nathan time in the next book I feel. I enjoyed the knowledge I gained from this book and representation in it.

Sequel to amazingly funny DIAL A FOR AUNTIES. Meddy, her mum and aunties are back. But this time they are taking a back seat in the wedding planning as Meddy is the bride,

I loved reading about the aunties once again especially with there adventures in England. I especially loved all the parts about their English lesson.

Great second novel in the series.

Meddy Chan is back, and so are her aunties! Following their previous escapades accidentally killing a guy, hiding his body at a wedding they were catering, and getting away with murder while also pushing Meddy back into the arms of her college love, surely the Aunties are done with the criminal lifestyle. But things are back to crazy when Meddy is set to marry Nathan, and she finds out the people she hired to run her wedding may in fact be mafia, and have their targets set on an unknown wedding guest. So it's now down to Meddy and her aunts to stop a literal murder this time - oh, and also get Meddy up the aisle!

I just love the Aunties! This book was no different to the first in the Aunties series and by that I mean it was absolutely insane and laugh out loud funny. Meddy and her Aunties - and the hijinks they all end up getting into - are so funny to follow, and you honestly never know what they're going to do or say next. The highlight in this was the Aunties all learning English slang from someone on Fivver to impress Nathan's parents ('Toodle Pip!').

With the first book, there was a point of no return where things just went from crazy to ridiculous, and while everything in these books have to be taken with a pinch of salt and looked at as pure entertainment rather than a realistic story. I also feel this book took a turn as well to the ridiculousness, but to be honest I have so much fun spending time with the Aunties, I don't care too much!

I did feel sad and frustrated for Meddy that her wedding ended up being such a nightmare - it felt like she was someone who really deserved a nice day and while it all ended up okay in the end, I wish the character had been able to actually experience more of her day rather than running around kidnapping people - yes, really.

As always, I appreciate learning so much more about Chinese-Indo culture in this book, and this one also looking at the varying experiences with Asian diaspora as represented in Meddy's family versus Nathan's family who couldn't be more different. I would have liked things between Annie and the Aunties to have been a bit more settled and at peace near the end but I guess we kind of got it. I don't know if this was a duology or there are plans for a trilogy because I would really love a Four Aunties and a Baby!
