This was very instalust instaloved and focused most of their relationship from a few adult encounters. This could have worked better as a novella as it seemed it was filled with fluff.love the author and will still read everything she writes

I enjoyed Quick Trick, a small town story with a lot of heart. This is a short and heartwarming story and I found it easy to connect with the characters and it left me with a good feeling.

The story centered around Grant as he returns to his hometown for a visit. Growing up Grant was not popular or cool but now that he is a successful professional hockey player, people treat him differently.

When Grant and Faith meet there is an instant attraction but they live in different worlds and they both have some issues they are dealing with. I liked Grant and Faith. Their encounters are entertaining, they share a lot of chemistry and I loved being with them in their small town.

Even though Grant and Faith are not ready to settle down, sometimes fate intervenes. Quick Trick was previously published as Home Advantage in an anthology titled All He Wants For Christmas. I enjoyed reading Grant and Faiths story and I think you will too.

Quick read rom-com with hockey star returning home to the sweetheart never gotten, small town adulation, and not-so-supportive family. Entertaining fare moves at a fast pace.

This was a cute small town romance. I did enjoy how the roles were reversed and Grant was the one that wasn’t popular, while Faith was in high school. I enjoyed how they navigated their relationship through everything. His fame and her not wanting to be another notch in his bed.

I received this ARC through #netgalley and I am voluntarily reviewing this book

Skye Jordan’s first book, Quick Trick, in the Rough Riders series is a combination of intensity and tenderness. From the action of hockey to the gentle discovery of romance, the story takes the reader through the intricacies of developing unexpected relationships. This is story sets a high bar for the remaining books in the series.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Skye Jordan brings us into the world of ice hockey with the Rough Riders. We meet Grant finally returning home after being injured. He runs into Faith when his mom sends him on the errand to pick up the family Christmas tree. Unfortunately, he is too late and the store is closed so he tries to charm his way into convincing Faith to open the store. Because he does not want to stay home and deal with his family, he starts visiting Faith's store getting supplies each day. Each time he visits, he is hoping to break down her barriers and let him in. Will she finally let down her guard and see what can happen with Grant? Or will she let her insecurities and his professional life get in the way of what could be?

Skye Jordan brings us the beginning of a new series with the Rough Riders. I enjoyed the back and forth between Grant and Faith. You kept wanting to turn the page to see what each character did next in response until you realized that you are at the end and are wanting more. I look forward to visiting them and meeting the rest of the team in each new chapter of this series. I read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Author Collective 20 for this privilege.

This is an older book, but still a good read. A small town romance with a big city hockey player :). I wouldn't go so far as to classify it as a sports romance only because there is very little sports. it fits much better into small town

I really enjoyed this quite short steamy romance. Faith and Grant have some really sparky dialogue and the supporting characters are really well written too It’s a shame it wasn’t a longer story as I felt like I didn’t want to leave! Really looking forward to reading others in the series. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing to read a review copy of this book.

This is a good hockey romance. Grant has returned home to recoup after an injury. Faith is running her father’s hardware store after he passed away. Grant likes Faith but it’s not going to be easy to get her. This is a good quick read.

This is the second book I’ve read written by Skye Jordan and I really like both of them.
Rough Riders’ center, Grant Saber, has been sidelined for a bum shoulder. If he has to be off the ice for three weeks of recovery, and that landed him in his hometown of Holly, North Carolina. Faith Nicholas has no interest in the newest Saber-son gossip. After losing her father just months before, she is now on the verge of losing their family hardware store—which is also her home. She couldn’t care less about the Saber’s big money or flashy toys. But she can’t seem to keep Grant out of her store--or her dreams. His magnetic charisma is impossible to ignore, and the longer he stays in town, the more she finds to love about a man who isn’t as superficial as he’d like others to believe.
The first few chapters of this story were a bit too slow for me, but once the relationship stars, it keeps getting better and better. The sex scenes are really really good. Grant is a bit too cocky but maybe in a cute way? Faith is just headstrong and tries all the way to keep him outside of her life…and her bed. The characters are interesting and well developed. I enjoyed the dialogs between them a lot. This book is easy to read and has a lot of the Christmas spirit we all love.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a hallmark style Christmas romance, not a sports romance and that greatly affected my enjoyment. I love love love sports romances, but this wasn't that.

Grant is in his small home town for a couple weeks and tries to pick up a local girl. Faith is not interested in Grant until she finds out Grant is famous and then suddenly starts justifying everything she thought about him.
Add Ina. Christmas background and I'm out. No thank you.

A complimentary copy of this book was received in exchange for my honest review and opinion. This hockey romance is one reconnection to the past. Leaving your hometown behind isn't easy when you fall for the girl down at the hardware store.
I really enjoyed this book. I would have liked more of an ending because it ended pretty abruptly but it was a really good sports romance.

Quick Trick is the first book in Skye Jordan's Rough Riders Hockey romance series. Although this is a sports romance, this first book doesn't actually feature any actual hockey. I don't think that really mattered in this first book, it was more of a Christmas romance. I don't know if future books will have more of a hockey focus.
It took me a little while to get into this one. I think that was possibly because of the idea that Faith has no idea who Grant is. Not only is he a local hero in this small town, but he also was in her class at school for a while. She might have forgotten what he looks like or not really have known him when they were at school, but the idea that she wouldn't have a clue who he was, even when he told her his name, just seems a little hard to buy.
Once we were past that, the romance progressed and I enjoyed reading about Faith and Grant as they worked out what they wanted from one another and how they could work their relationship. Overall, a good start to a new series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily

Quick Trick follows Grant and Faith as they find their way to each other and to love. At the beginning of the book, both have sworn off love and relationships for different reasons. When they meet, sparks fly, but Faith doesn't even remember Grand from High School. This book is an almost insta love, but it doesn't feel rushed at all for the characters to fall And for me to say that is a big deal, because I don't buy into most insta love stories. This is the first book I have read by Skye Jordan, but it won't be the last. The characters are fully developed and the secondary characters enhance the storyline. I do wish that Faith's father had still been alive, I think he would have been an exceptional character and would have added even more to the story in life instead of in his death.

I highly recommend this book and give it 5 stars!
