This book wasn't for me. I listened to the audiobook and it was very dower. There was no excitement. The relationship started off on the wrong foot and because of this I could never really like the main characters.

Who doesn’t love a good Christmas story?! This one gave all the feels. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this copy for review

I found this book hard to get into at first - I set it down and went back to it months later. It is very predictable, but cute. It is full of Christmas cheer to get you into the season; but this isn't a book I'd recommend to the masses. I don't think it will be more that sticks with me.

I was given a copy of this story to read; but thoughts and opinions are all my own. Thank you to Netgalley and Sapere Books for the chance to read this book!

This book was just okay for me…like a stale Christmas cookie…sweet, but predictable, still consumable, but there are better things out there. Some authors basically create Hallmark movies in book form, and this felt like one of them. It was formulaic, but I did enjoy it enough to finish the book. If you like cozy Christmas romances, you will likely enjoy this book, but if you want a story that changes you, or is particularly memorable, there are more thoughtful things out there.

I began reading this book several months ago and struggled with picking it up. I feel I am not the right fit for this story but someone else might be I tried my best with it but did not enjoy it. I feel a lot of people will like this with it being a romance set around Christmas.

I will admit to enjoying a Christmas book any time of the year, but what a brilliant read. The sad and the good. I’ll be looking for more by this author. Well done.

A cute story, a bit predictable though, but you don't mind because the characters are lovable, and they so deserve happiness. The setting is rural England so what could me more romantic than that? Well written, with a plot and characters that stay with you long after you've finished

Single mum Beth moves her ‘boutique’ business into a converted stable on the Trenouth Estate. Tristan – the owner of the estate – does nothing but make her angry whenever their paths meet. But of course, this is a Christmas festive romance, so we kind of know what to expect – the estate is in trouble, Tristan has events to plan, and things go wrong, forcing him to seek help from Beth. The pair have to put their differences aside to work together.

Beth was forced out of her home when she fell pregnant with her son, and she lives with her brother who, quite frankly, does so much for them both! I like seeing more unusual family setups in Romance, but there were so many points where it felt like Beth was taking advantage. Like I said above, we kind of know what to expect with this sort of book, but having picked up a few festive Romances and learning what I like from them, I was fully ready to fall in love with the characters and plot.

Reader, I did not.

Beth’s son gets pushed on anyone who can have him, and it feels like we don’t really get to see much of those two interacting with one another. I found myself questioning what a ‘boutique’ was throughout – I admit, I’m not a fashion person, but a lot of what she was doing seemed more like Avon for clothes than a boutique? I also wondered how Beth and her brother had managed to live so close to the estate and community as a whole and not actually know anything about it all? Maybe it’s just me, but a lot of what happened and the way the plot progressed either felt forced or just a touch too easy.

There were…so many times when Beth starts by saying “I don’t regret having my son…” then expresses that actually, she does. Like other instances I’ve seen before, the author could have gone a bit deeper into how Beth felt and had some nuance to it, but everything is done in such a surface way we don’t really get that and it comes across perhaps as it’s not quite meant to.

I did like the community aspect, and I do like when two characters meet and the one character is kind of gently led into the community, increasing their own support network and giving a sense of belonging they may not have had at the start, and this aspect was done quite well and was sweet, as Beth almost emerges into the world following a period of self-enforced isolation. There were some sweet scenes, but overall I think there are plenty of others who will get much more from this book than I did.

Thank you to Sapere for providing a copy of this book via NetGalley. Views remain my own.

Single mom Beth does not meet Tristan under the best circumstances. Estranged from her parents after she became pregnant as a teenager, Beth is careful about protecting her son and her heart from further rejection, and is definitely not looking for romance. A sweet romance and a festive read.

Beth is a young single Mum. Finding herself pregnant after a fling with a stranger on her 18th birthday, her parents throw her out and she moves in to live with her brother, also estranged from their parents because he is gay, and established a small business selling exclusive fashions, which enables her to care for her son George.

Now George is at school, Beth wants to expand the business and takes a small unit in the stable block at Trenouth Manor in order to have premises to work from. But the owner, Tristan Trenouth, always seems to rub her up the wrong way, despite an obvious attraction between them. He is full of excellent business ideas, though, and Beth is excited to work alongside him in creating a fashion show for the annual charity ball.

This book has all the elements that make a Christmas romance novel such a cozy "comfort read" - a young woman running her own business in the face of adversity, attraction, conflict. a child, a dog, a gay couple, Christmas trees galore and of course a happy ending. A perfect read for the festive season.

This is a very sweet, immensely readable Christmas romance. The characters were immediately well-developed and the plot was great and didn't involve too much conflict or tedium, all things considered (since such things are generally a staple of the genre). It was a delightful holiday read.

Every Christmas season I love to curl up with a feel-good novel that takes me away from it all. This year "Mistletoe at the Manor" was that book for me, and man, did I ever need the escape!

This is an enjoyable story about single mother Beth, her son George, her cantankerous landlord Tristan and her estranged family, When Beth expands her home-based business to a physical storefront she encounters a variety of new people, most of them kind and big-hearted- except for Tristan, with whom she never seems to put the right foot forward. Little does she know that he is developing feelings for her and doesn't know how to deal. Will a series of misunderstandings come between them permanently or will they work it all out in time for Christmas?

This is a light and fun novel, and was a joy to read over the holiday season. There's nothing ground-breaking in the pages but sometimes I just need a novel to escape in to, especially as the dark and cold weather looms. This is well-written and, although filled with unbelievable coincidences, I chose to suspend my disbelief while reading this and really enjoyed it as a whole. When I read the last page I was pleased to see that this author has written other books (and even one involving some of the characters in this novel!) which I will definitely be adding to my wish list.

If you're looking for an escape this winter, this book is a great option.

This was a cosy Christmas read and perfect escapism in the current times. This was a lovely heartwarming and romantic feel good read which gave you a warm
Glow while reading and was like being enveloped in a hug. This was definitely a feel good Xmas read I would love to see a sequel to see how the relationship between Beth and Tristan continues to develop and what further lies in store for
The future for them.

A beautiful Christmassy read. The story focuses on single mother Beth and her son, George as Beth sets up her boutique and meets Tristan at Trenouth Manor.

I really enjoyed the story but my one wish is that we had seen more of Beth and Tristan to really feel their relationship develop. It kind of went from 0 to 100 very quickly and I just love living vicariously through characters. Having said that, I completely adored this book and it was absolutely perfect for the festive period!
