This book was beautifully written and took me by surprise.
It was a journey into a culture that I was not familiar with.
I didn’t expect to love this as much as I did.

A beautiful story that covers three generations of women and their "curse" in love.
It starts very slow, but then becomes completely absorbing and difficult to put down. It's not easy to understand the reasons behind certain behaviours of this family, they are dysfunctional and sad, and not very likeable to be honest, but still you can't stop reading their saga.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was written almost like an autobiography, and the story itself packed a lot into its plot. Although I don't know much about the broader context within which the story is set, but I felt that it was well-paced and explained well. I really enjoyed learning more about the broader topics discussed, so I hope to read more about this!

In summary, it was a great piece of historical fiction that had a range of characters and stories.
