I was given an audiobook in exchange for an honest review..wow! What a cute book! I definitely enjoyed this book. Santa had a little accident and while trying to help, the Quokka only make it worse before it’s all cleared up. I loved this audiobook and it’s funny predicaments they find themselves. Yes I would definitely recommend to add this book to your holiday lineup. Fun for all ages. Will bring a smile to your face..Special thanks to #NetGalley, #J.Macpherson, and #TheQuokka ChristmasQuest for allowing me to review.

'The Quokkas' Christmas Quest' was a fun, quick listen for Christmas ('tis the season!). I requested this title as I love quokkas (if I ever make it to Australia, Rottnest Island is the first place I'll go!) and you don't see many Southern-hemisphere Christmas books here in the UK. 'The Quokka's Christmas Quest' would be mildly educational for British kids, since it features various species of Australian wildlife they probably wouldn't know about otherwise (I didn't!). And it's always good to teach kids about cultural and geographical differences (Christmas on the beach! In summer! Also, barbeque Christmas dinners!). There were also some good messages about teamwork and standing by your friends, which parents will appreciate..

The story itself is a fairly straightforward quest to save Christmas by delivering presents dropped by Santa with bullies and scary lizards complicating matters. It was fairly entertaining with some good jokes along the way (I enjoyed the quokka selfies!) though it sometimes felt like it was being written by Rottnest Island Tourist Board with all its references to holiday cottages and chalets. Don't any children live there permanently? Still, Aimee Horne does a great job narrating with energy and affection (and voices!) and who doesn't love quokkas? Incidentally, I didn't realise going in, but this book is part of a series. Context is provided where necessary, though, (i.e. about one of the girls the quokkas meet), so you can pick it up even if you're a newbie like me.

Wallabies Help Santa

eBook & Audiobook Review:
This is a delightfully fun children's Christmas story taking place on an Australian island. In case you don't know what a quokka is, it is a small wallaby about the size of a house cat. In this story, two quokkas living on the island not only get to meet Santa on his yearly trek to give out presents, but they also have to help him because he accidentally left a few presents behind, undelivered to their destinations. The two main-character quokkas have to figure out how to get these presents to the right kids… and it certainly is not easy! They even run into a set of villainous quokkas who definitely try to thwart them. The book has a few more scatological references to the things that happen at the far end of the gastrointestinal system than I like to see in a book like this, but kids do appreciate that kind of humor. The book is certainly funny, and not just from that. I received both the eBook and audiobook versions of the story, and I found the audiobook version extremely well done. The narrator is incredibly talented, able to voice all the characters distinctly and was even able to give the villainous quokkas distinctly different and evil-sounding voices. I was not as wild about the eBook version because it was simply text. I am not sure what the age range of this book is supposed to be, but it certainly would have been better with a few illustrations scattered throughout. It had none within the main text. Still, this was certainly a fun and funny Christmas read and listen.

Audiobook ARC from NetGalley

Clancy and Cobba, two little quokkas, and the best of friends, run into Santa one Christmas Eve, and when Santa flies away on his sleigh to deliver all of his gifts to little boys and girls everywhere, some of them fall off, and it's up to Clancy and Cobba to figure out how to help Santa complete his mission. They end up having one heck of a night!

This is such a cute little Christmas short story! The quokkas are adorable, and the story is a lot of fun. And kudos to the narrator! She did a wonderful job with the voices and injecting a lot of fun into her narration.

I'm giving this book 5/5 stars. I enjoyed it very much and highly recommend it.

*received for free from netgalley for honest review* different and cute Christmas story, probably a little long to read in one night as a bedtime story but still really cute

The Quokkas’ Christmas Quest is a fun and unique Australian styled Christmas story; due to a little accident caused presents to fall out of the sleigh. Two little quokkas take up the challenging task to ensure that they keep some human children happy on Christmas Day to receive their gift from Santa. The two quokkas work together on how to make it happen, with the help and suggestions from other Rottnest Island animal inhabitants they work out what they should do and how. Some funny and courageous moments of consequences occur from their actions. They learn as they go, escape from the bullies with the help from another family of quokkas as they return a favour. Certainly a book for the young and old as the Christmas story teaches about the meaning of Christmas, working together for a common goal, family and friendships.

How can you go wrong with a story about Quokkas?! This is an absolutely adorable story about how two brave little Quokkas save Christmas for a few young children whose Christmas gifts have fallen off Santa's sleigh. Through their various misadventures- they finally help Santa with his deliveries and have a chance to fly on his sleigh.

I had no idea when originally starting this read that this book was part of a series of Quokka adventures; but when my child is a bit older, we will certainly be checking them out. This is a chapter read and is for older children; but my toddler and I cut up the book as nighly chapter reads which made it easier for a younger book lover to still enjoy the story.

I was given an ARC of this story to read; but thoughts and opinions are all my own. Thank you to @netgalley and JFM Books for the chance to read this title.

The Quokka’s Christmas Quest is an absolutely delightful story that will bring the magic of Christmas right to your doorstep. I fell in love with Cobba and Clancy and thoroughly enjoyed their quest, despite some of the challenges they came by. The narration by Aimee Horne was absolutely fabulous. She truly brought these sweet characters to life. A fantastic listen perfect for all ages.

Thank you to @NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this fun story! Listening length is about 1.5 hours.

I ended up liking this more than I thought. These two Quokkas (think Australian rat maybe) meet Santa. But after a hit and run with beach creatures, the presents go flying. The two Quokkas help Santa reload his sleigh and off they go. But they missed some presents, and no matter what these little Quokkas’ do, they cannot catch up, so they decide to deliver the presents themselves. They do not want any little kid to go without their present from Santa. This book was so much fun. Between the fur balls taking the scooter and the Bullies that try to stop them, oh, and let’s not forget the “trade” or shinny things. This book was a riot. The audio was only 90 minutes and a great way to pass the time while wrapping presents.

This is a really cute children's audiobook, which my daughter and I loved. It is a fun story, about Santa crashing his sleigh and some presents escaping, and the Quokkas, Clancy and Cobba, trying to deliver the presents to the rightful owners, on time for Christmas Day. It is a delightful book, which is great to listen to at this time of the year! The narrator was fantastic, and she brought a lot of fun and joy to the story. I loved her accent.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Before I even start talking about the book, I wanted to check: How many of you know what a Quokka is?

My limited knowledge of this arena of the animal kingdom left me wondering on this one.

The narrator was the showstopper in this audiobook. The voice modulation was so great that you can differentiate them all. It's a cute little story about Santa -off to distribute the presents. But, on the way they bump into a whale and the presents get scattered.

Clancy and Cobba (love these cute names) the two local Quokkas help Santa & his Reindeer gather them & move ahead. But as they leave, Clancy and Cobba discover more presents 🎁 left around... now it's solely up to them to find the rightful owners and deliver them their gifts.

I wanted to read something out of my normal trend (fantasy and magical Realism) & so I picked up this.
It was light, hilarious and all Christmas 🎄 vibes 😁

What an adorable story! The narrator MAKES this audiobook! Her voices and energetic enunciation were awesome! We were drawn into the tale of these adorable quokkas, and rooting for them to succeed on all of their adventures. We learned about Australia and had fun doing it. Definitely a great choice if you have a long drive this holiday season. The passengers in your car will love it!
