This story was so easy to follow, a beautiful and simple writing, easy to understand even for those who don't speak the language.
The main characters were super sweet and lovely and I read this book in one sitting.
Abby and Luke are head over heels for each other and I loved the whole cute plot the author brought to us. It was exactly de book I needed to bring me up.

This was one of the cutest romance books I have read in a long time. This book follows Abby who is from a small town, but she made her life's mission to get out and be successful in the city. She has to go back to that small town and she catches up with Luke (small town boy) who she used to be childhood friends with. The sarcastic back and forth banter between these two characters made this book so much fun. It was your classic slow burn cute romance. If you do not like the miscommunication Trope, you will NOT like this book. Half of this book would have been avoided if Abby just communicated with her family and Luke the entire book.

I really really liked this book.
I read it during my exam week and I think it's perfect, it is a light read and a page-turner.
I liked Abby's personality a lot, I mean, she knew what she wanted and she got it. Queen.
And Luke was so freaking cute, it hurts.

This is the second book I read from this author and, let me say, I loved both. Very romantic, very funny, very complete.

The sister's plot was definitely a plus in this book, 5/5.

Abby left her hometown of Clonard for the bright lights and non stop work in New York without giving it a second thought. Now, she has no job, no fiance and has returned home to live with the sister she has never gotten along with. When she finally gets over the shock of what her life has become, Abby starts to realise that being back home has some benefits and one of them is Luke, her former childhood neighbour. Just as she is starting to find her groove, her ex and a great job opportunity arrive. Will Abby give in to temptation and return to her fancy lifestyle or will renewed relationships in Clonard be what she wants? A great story.

Similar to the good girl complex, I knew that the Rebound by Catherine Walsh would be a book I‘d enjoy.

I liked Abby because she is sooo relatable. It was easy to understand why she acts the way she does.
Luke is such a cutie too, I love the grumpy but very cute puppy attitude he got going on.
The side characters were soooo loveable too and Ireland served wonderfully as charming romcom setting.

It‘s always hard to write a review for a book you really enjoyed, that‘s why this one is so short.

If you‘re looking for a romcom feel-good book without too much drama and a smalltown setting, the rebound is certainly the book for you.

When Abby Reynolds loses her fiancé, job and apartment in New York in a few short weeks she decides to move back to Clonard Ireland with her sister. Who she doesn't have the best relationship with and that doesn't know about how bad her life has become. Stranded at the bus stop she meets a handsome stranger Luke who offers to take her home and Abby realises he's the perfect person to take her mind off the terrible things happening in her life. Until Abby realises who he is, her next door neighbour who she used to spend every waking moment with as children. But Luke already knew who she was. Is Abby ready to admit to everyone back home how bad her life is or is she going to keep her lies going?

This was so good watching Abby and Louise's relationship grow and become stronger. The friendships in here were perfect. Luke and Abby's relationship was so good the way it slowly burned. The fact there were really issues regarding fertility and climate problems also added to the story. I really enjoyed this every character was so well fleshed out from main characters to side characters. I'd definitely read more from this author again.

This was my second Catherine Walsh book and it was just as cute as the first. The Rebound was a cute and light book about starting over, going back to your roots, falling in love and reconnecting with family. I enjoyed that it wasn't just about the romance element. I loved how Walsh focused on family relationships and I think she portrayed them beautifully. The Irish description of the Irish countryside was beautiful as well. I would give it 3.5 stars, rounding up to 4.

This book won me over from the opening scene where Abby is waiting for the bus, only to be told she missed it....by many, many years. HA! What was extra laughable- when she didn't recognize Luke, a friend from the past who turned out to be a hottie.

As someone else who broke off her engagement and lost her job within a short span, I could absolutely relate to the main character. I loved how strong yet conflicted she was, even as she was questioning her decisions about life, work and telling her family about what was going on. Luke was gorgeous (in my mind), funny and oh so loveable. I adored the sister dynamics between Abby and Louise and I LOVED Beth and Thomasz (he had some fantastic lines!). I was laughing and swooning all the way through the book. The Irish setting made it infinitely better as well- booking a trip ASAP!

On a side note- my family and I have an egg hunt every year where we hunt for the golden egg, so that scene had me laughing and smiling for ages!

Thanks for the Arc!

I’m a total sucker for anything Ireland related. The Rebound was set in Clonard when Abby Reynolds returns to her hometown. She was previously living it up in NYC with the perfect job, friends and fiancé. When it all falls apart she really has no choice but to return home and regroup.

Right at her arrival she meets Luke. He’s grumpy and she’s not thrilled to be at this point in her life. Turns out he’s her former childhood neighbor and friend- except he’s all grown up and hot now.

Luke is swoon worthy. He helps Abby out even when she doesn’t treat him kindly. He does everything for everyone without expecting anything. And he’s always somehow there in a pinch. Some of their miscommunication was cute but some was frustrating. As a reader I sometimes wanted to grab Abby and tell her to grow up! She has a struggling relationship with her sister and a lot of mishaps with Luke. She has a lot of growing to do while figuring out her new life.

I did enjoy reading this sweet story and laughed at their banter.

(First of all, thank you so much NetGalley, publisher, and author, for providing me this ARC in exchange for an honest review)

Synopsis: Abby Reynolds returned to her childhood home in an Ireland town after being fired in her work and dumped by his fiancée. Her family don't know about his ex-fiancée so she is willing to pretend she is still engaged. But then, she meets a hot guy called Luke, who offers her a lift home. Gazing deep into his sparkling emerald-green eyes, Abby knows instantly that he’s exactly what she needs to take her mind off everything. The perfect rebound. Until the next day, when Abby realizes who he actually is. Not just a stranger. He is, in fact, Luke Bailey, aka the boy next door. And judging by the smirk on his face, the same Luke Bailey who’s known exactly who she was the whole time… Can she admit to everyone back home that she’s single and has lost everything? Because, if she wants the boy next door, she may just have to…

The cover and synopsis of this book made me want it to read it. Badly. Althought the start was what I expected and I was intrigued about the relationship development I think the book get worst through the pages. Sometimes I didn't understand her and the future drama they had 'til finally they are together but the book keep me reading so I'm going to give it 3 stars.

This book was really cute with the old friend trope. There was a lot of miscommunication and a lot of side plot going on at once sometimes, but I thought everything was relevant. I loved the development of Abby and her sister, and I thought it was a totally reasonable time period for everything to occur, rather than this whole relationship and development happening in the span of maybe a week. Overall, I enjoyed reading it from start to finish, and I enjoyed the dynamics of the characters.

The rebound is rom com that set in small irist Town. This follows Abby who loses everything from her amazing job, break up with her fiance or you can say she lost her perfect little life in New York. Becouse of this circumstances, she decided to go back home eventhough that is the last place she wants to be, to be staying with her older sister.

Not gonna lie, this book kinda frustrate me at first. I just don't go well with this miscommunication trope. She literally have problem with everyone in the book. It just feels weird for someone amazing like her have a very bad communication skills. I think her characters sometimes just doesn't make any sense at all. I dont like how she always delayed the most important things. Its not that hard to be honest but I tried to let it go becouse of her unfortunate circumstances.

The relationship between Abby and Luke is okay. Nothing exciting happen between them, just a very cliche romance. The chemistry between them, how do I say. I don't feel much but still both of them are adorable and its very entertaining to see both them in scene together. Besides, I am more interested on her relationship with his sister and family.

Last but not least, its an entertaining read and eventhough it seems like a romance book but its more to Abby finding herself back, to fix her relationship with her family and friends back there and also be more open instead and the book is a cute read.
