Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
This is the first book I have read by this author, and it definitely won't be the last now I'm following her. The plot is so twisted I didn't know who to trust or feel most sorry for. It is very well-written, with segments from different characters' points of view so the reader understands their feelings.
It completely absorbed me, be prepared to find it unputdownable.

Love of my life ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Emma loves her husband Leo and their young daughter Ruby: she’d do anything for them. But almost everything she's told them about herself is a lie.

So I smuggly thought I had this one figured out about a third of the way through, and although I was on the right track there were still enough twists left to keep me enthralled with this read which I flew through in just a couple of days. I wouldn’t really class this as a thriller, more of a contemporary read which deals very well with some really heartbreaking issues, particularly PND

Please don’t be put off by the smooshy title and give this a go!

I've read amazing reviews but my own feelings were a bit mixed. When Emma, a well known marine-bioligist, falls ill, her husband Leo starts writing her obituary and discovers his wife of 10 years isn't who he thought she was. Feeling betrayed he begins to dig deeper, but the clues lead to some shocking implications. Emma has a dark past, and it is beginning to catch up with her.

The actual twists were pretty good. They were unexpected but still plausible. It kept me intent to finish. And the characters were understandable, warts and all. However, the first part of the book was too slow and the way it initially unfolded felt predictable. I found myself getting annoyed with the choices that were made, and how things were revealed. So overall, an entertaining read but not top of my list.

Not for me at the moment unfortunately. I struggled to get into it and therefore did not finish reading it.

The blurb -I have held you every night for ten years and I didn’t even know your name. We have a child together. A dog, a house. Who are you?

Emma loves her husband Leo and their young daughter Ruby: she’d do anything for them. But almost everything she's told them about herself is a lie. And she might just have got away with it, if it weren’t for her husband’s job. Leo is an obituary writer and Emma is a well-known marine biologist, so, when she suffers a serious illness, Leo copes by doing what he knows best – reading and writing about her life. But as he starts to unravel her past, he discovers the woman he loves doesn’t really exist. Even her name is fictitious.

My review- well what can I say without giving anything away? The main thing to say is just how much I loved it, I couldnt predict the storyline and enjoyed the tension building up as I read more and more. The characters were addictive and mesmerising and I was so desperate to find out what the final outcome was going to be, as well as relishing the journey that took me there. Highly recommended

In many ways a sad story as you see a beautiful, cohesive young family so quickly disintegrating. And yet at the same time, there is an underlying feeling of hope as you genuinely wish for everything to be right and not the bleakest interpretation that can be made of the facts. A redemptive story in the end of faith, the power of love, and the lengths that a woman will go to for the love of her child.

I liked the whole story of the relationship of the two main characters. The begging of the book was a little slow but then you can’t keep your eyes off of it!

I struggled with the first third of this one. Story was good but initially a little slow paced but I persisted. Glad I did as really enjoyed it by the end and the last half just flew by.

Christ alive, @TheRosieWalsh #TheLoveOfMyLife is exquisite. Both a gripping mystery, and a powerful love story, it's beautifully written and completely compelling. A 5* #BOTY2022 without a doubt.

A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book. Emma and Leo have been together for 10 years and have a beloved young daughter, Ruby. However, unbeknown to Leo, Emma had a whole other life before they met, one she has never told him about. Leo is an obituary writer, and when Emma survives cancer he starts to investigate her past. This is a good page turner which will keep you guessing. Thanks to NetGalley for a preview copy.

“I don’t know anything, other than that it’s only when something’s damaged beyond repair that we realise how beautiful it was.”

Emma loves her husband Leo and their young daughter Ruby: she’d do anything for them. But almost everything she’s told them about herself is a lie.
When the very darkest moments of Emma’s past life finally emerge, she must somehow prove to Leo that she really is the woman he always thought she was. But first, she must tell him about the love of her other life.

The first thing I loved about this book is how it starts off as contemporary fiction, runs into mystery/domestic thriller, before wrapping up in women’s fiction, all while playing a little peek-a-boo romance.

The plot tends to wind a little in the build-up to the shocking turn of events so one needs to follow the story closely. The plot is full of drama and extremely tense. The characters do a lot of second guessing which throws you off with new revelations, adding to the suspense.

A riveting thriller on the surface, this is a deeply emotional and tender story of love, loss and forgiveness at its core.
