This was odd and not what I expected it to be. If you are a fan of the literary genre then this will probably suit you, there are a wide range of writers included along with some interesting artworks with them.
Maybe if I’d have understood the concept better I’d have enjoyed it but what I read just wasn’t for me. Maybe if I went back in with a more open mind I’d enjoy it more but at the minute it’s just not for me

Great annual, thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for letting me access it in exchange for my feedback.

I was offered NOON 2022 as an ARC via NetGalley and found it to be a very eclectic mix of literary short stories and artwork. As I am undertaking a creative arts degree that combines creative writing with textiles modules I am always intrigued at how people bring together different creative endeavours into one cohesive whole. The reason I only gave it three stars is that many of the short stories were so 'literary' that frankly I didn't really understand them. I am only just starting my studies on the short story form so I would hope that in future I may gain a better grasp on the format but I can't bring myself to rate books highly if I can't tell someone what they were about. If you are a fan of the literary genre then this will probably suit you down to the ground as there are a wide range of writers included along with some interesting artworks, it just wasn't quite right for me.

I love short stories so this fantastic annual installment didn’t disappoint. One of the best covers and works I’ve seen in a while as well!

Thought this would be something I'd reach for, but to be honest in a current ecosystem of overwhelming options, I moved on to my next read easily.

Not actually a book but a bi-annual magazine which explores art and commerce in contemporary culture. This edition features quite a few short stories – often very short, with a few here comprised merely a single sentence – some paintings on paper plates, a few photographs and a piece of sculpture.

I found the stories odd: arty, often driven by sexual encounter, hard to interpret. In fact I’d go further, most to me were incomprehensible. I’m sure there are those who will make sense of all of this but I’m afraid it flew way over my head.
