I really like Patricia Briggs' titles. I took the opportunity to refresh my memory re-reading the previous titles in the series (this is the 6th in the Alpha & Omega series), plus the Mercy Thompson ones as, in general, they are quite intertwined.

In my opinion, Wild Sign starts a bit slower than previous titles in the series and it took me a bit more to fully get into it, but it continues to build up until the end making you not wanting to stop reading. It is really nice having some more background into some characters and seeing part of their story.

- POSSIBLE SPOILER -

This provides some redemption qualities that pave the way for what probably will be a turn of events or a realisation moment for some characters in future books.

This was one of the better books of the series, I would say. It features, quite heavily, the backstory of a character you probably don't think much about within the series, and if you do, those thoughts aren't likely to be very favourable - Leah, Bran's mate. We got some very interesting details about how she became a wolf and became Bran's mate and wife. And also, perhaps, why she is the way she is. Prickly, unfriendly and unlikeable.

She's not the focus, however. That, as always, is married super-couple Charles and Anna. They're tasked with looking into some missing people on land owned by Leah for centuries. Land they'd all but forgotten about. When they get there they are led on a merry chase through a well-penned magical mystery culminating in several exciting happenings in the last few pages! For this reason alone this instalment is unskippable for fans of the series and the original Mercy Thompson series it belongs to.

A great addition to the series.

Definitely enjoyed this more than the last Mercy book I read.
Charles is just cool. He is the coolest character in all of Briggs' books to me just because there seems to be so much more to learn about him

Thank you to the publisher, netgalley and the author for allowing me to read this eARC, I feel so blessed to be able to have critical conversations about great books and recommend books to my book club.

An enthralling fantasy novel with shifters, such descriptive and connecting writing style and fast pacing novel. This was a worldwide I loved to jump into and will be reading more in this series.

3,5 stars

Wild Sign is already the sixth installment of the Alpha and Omega series, a companion series to Mercy Thompson. I inhaled the first 5 books at the end of last year so I was very excited I was approved for this book.

Wild Sign has a lot of elements that I like in a story. A creepy vibe with a deserted town. No clear answers. Something God like wanting to come above the surface. Having to retrace the steps of the disappeared people.

There is a line to Leah in this story. She will always be Brans bitch wife to me but one that I understand better now. I can always appreciate when we get more deepening of characters and Leah has her importance. And well crafted stories don't just deepen out the heroes.
Having said that, this book still fell partially flat to me because of Anna and Charles. I'm kind of over the endless Anna damsel in distress and Charles the super alpha who is secretly a goody guy. I feel like we just get a lot of rehashes in their interactions with others and that we aren't moving in very deep. However that ending does suggest that the next book will do better on that front.

So all in all I thought Wild Sign was a good installment on the story front but on our main characters it was lacking.

Wild Sign by Patricia Briggs was an interesting read. This was my first book by the author as well as the first time reading this series. Despite that, I was able to follow along with the plot and the characters quite easily!!

One thing individuals should note is that there are certain aspects of this book and certain topics touched upon that were extremely triggering, for example rape, emotional abuse etc.

The story telling was superb! And the writing was perfection! It was a great read and the writer fully sucked me into this universe! And if you know me...you know I loveeee a good werewolf romance...and this ladies and gentlemen is IT.

Definitely give this a read!

Patricia Briggs knows how to write a pacy tale that just thrills - yet totally hits that ‘comfort read’ spot. As part of an ongoing series, we already feel invested in the characters and can’t help but worry as they face other-worldly threats.

In this volume, we’re focussed on Charles and Anna, part of the Marrok pack. Yes, pack, we’re talking wolves here. The Wolf references pop up regularly and highlight that these people are werewolves not human.

This adventure focuses on Leah, the mate of the Alpha, and how she became the woman that we know now. I hadn’t previously cared for Leah but this was fascinating!

Despite being the sixth book in the Alpha & Omega series, book 18 if you count the whole Mercy Thompson World, the book is accessible to new readers as Briggs masterfully weaves in small snippets to support readers and aid the memory.

I love how Briggs weaves in incidental scenes too such as playing Go Fish, name that tune and pop culture. Briggs is a must-read for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown book group, Orbit for providing this E- ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wild Sign is book 6 of the Alpha & Omega Series
I love the writing style, it draws me into the world and care about the characters, there interaction with each other and the world.

We get to know more information about Leah which was interesting and so want to find out more.

I find the stories in both this series and the Mercy Thompson series get better and better with each book as the universe and characters are expanded.

And the ending so want the next book in the series.

I have a review arc copy from Netgalley for an honest review

I love Patricia Briggs's book as they're always a lot of fun to read.
I don't share her world view but I surely love her world building and characters.
This is another fast paced and gripping story that kept me turning pages.
I didn't read all the books in this series but I will surely read what I missed.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

It was nice to be back with these characters, and we get to see a bit of Coyote too, and this is usually a bonus. But what it was best was the fact that we finally get to know a little bit more about Leah. I am to say that I am not the biggest fan of her, but it is nice to learn something more about her, and it helps to see her more like a real person and not just a bad stepmother. And I hope to see more of her and Bran in the next books and see what they would do.
The only thing that I didn't appreciate in there, and I really mean it, was the bad rep for retirement homes. I mean, we get a really bad one in this story and this is totally okay with me, I am not saying that we should just see the good ones (even if I think that retirement homes, psychiatric wards, and hospitals should get more good reps in books and movies and tv shows, but this is beside the point here) and nothing else, but they are prejudiced toward it from the beginning like all the retirement homes are bad. And this did not sit so well with me.

But having an insight into some of the characters that gravitate around Charles and Bran is always good. The only minus with Mercy's series is that we get to see so little of her family around because the Marrock and his sons are just too intriguing to pass. And this spin-off series is truly a gift because it gives that to us.
And the ending... that ending, argh! I need the sequel now!!!

Patricia Briggs steals the show with this novel. Loved the premise and the characters. Enjoyed every line and paragraph in the book. Would definitely recommend it.

Another great book in the Alpha and Omega series.
I loved that this book gave us an insight into Charles and Leah’s past, as well as being set somewhere entirely new.
I always look forward to a new book in this series coming out, can’t wait for more!

A fantastic read, with all the romance, twists, turns and supernatural power you expect from Patricia Briggs. This is the 6th book in the Charles and Anna franchise and it is just as much a page turner as the rest of the series. I can sometimes find with a series that as it goes on it runs out of steam but not with this author. I can’t wait for the next book and to find out what happens next. If you’ve not read the previous 5 books then put this one down and go back and read the others first and lucky you, you’re in for a real treat.

The sixth Charles and Anna Werewolf book didn't really grab me as much as the earlier ones, but it was still worth reading. I had this as a review copy from Netgalley and, like a previous Briggs review copy the formatting made it a difficult read. I'm sure this will not be a problem in the final published copy, but the publisher should take note that it's distracting. Anyhow, that aside, Charles and Anna are off into the wilds of California to solve a mystery of why a small off-grid settlement seems to be deserted. It's a Marie Celeste type of puzzle and seems to have its roots in the supernatural. Something old and dangerous has woken, and the Marrok's mate (not the most popular wolf in the pack despite her status) might know something about it.
