I loved book 1 in this series and couldn’t wait to read book 2! Fake dating and one bed trope is like my kryptonite I just love it and this book did it sooo well!

Firstly, thank you to Net Galley and #Montlake for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was the second instalment of Rachel’s Ms. Right Series which honestly I was unaware of until I reached the halfway point in the book. After finishing, I definitely think that No Rings Attached can be read as a standalone novel as at no part was I confused about what I was reading.

It’s a sapphic romance filled with tropes that I currently cannot get enough of, there’s a hint of grumpy sunshine mixed in with fake dating, forced proximity and one-bed trope… absolutely perfect combination.

I am unsure how I feel about this book, the storyline and chemistry between Lia and Grace was undeniably amazing however I feel at parts that were quite clunky and the writing was very basic. The ending also just didn’t do it for me, it seemed a little exorbitant considering the pace of the rest of the book.

I’ll definitely try and pick up another book from Rachel in the future, this one just wasn’t for me.

TW: parental death, biphobia, car accidents, infidelity
In 'No Rings Attached', Bookstore Manager and prepetual single Lia is invited to a wedding. Her brother's wedding, to be exact. Here, a white lie she told her mother to get her off her back comes back to bite her: the relationship she's supposedly in ended unhappily ages ago. In order to save Lia from her Mom's attempts to get her back with her ex, Lia's friend and boss Rosie convinces her best friend Grace to go as Lia's date. Grace feels bad for Lia and agrees to come, even though she hates weddings and honestly, relationships all together. What neither of them were expecting was for the other to be kind and beautiful and overall amazing. So starts a whirlwind month of travel and romance and mess.
I loved the wit and fun of this rom-com, the banter and the characters. The story was a roller-coaster of emotions and the author managed to get me very invested at break-neck speed. Also, there's fake-dating and that is literally the best trope ever, hands down. So, the set up for this story was already amazing (except for a few details I'll mention later). The story continues on (I can't mention much more without spoilers) and this is done in a way that gave me whiplash from the twists while still being a comprhensive and logical story overall. I did guess the 'big twist' extremely early, but I can definitely see why the characters were blind to it, especially because care was taken to show the thought process on this. I found it very well done.
The characters were lovable and I am already excited at the prospect of more stories about them. Lia does have a personality trait that I have myself and honestly dislike, so it was interesting to see this become one of the things Grace loves most about her.
So the relationship was kinda slow-burn, but not in every way. It also featured some really good sppicey scenes. I'm pretty picky about these, particularly in wlw romance, so that's a high compliment.
However, the way the story was resolved wasn't quite my cup of tea. It felt lazy, though I'm sure it wasn't. It's not a bad ending, I just loved the rest so much that I had hoped for something less rushed and sudden. I can admit that it fits well with how particularly Grace was characterized, though.
Because we read the story through multiple perspectives, certain thought processes repeat themselves. This mirroring of the characters inner thoughts is interesting because it shows their similarities despite their differences, but it was slightly overdone at the beginning of the story, where it sometimes resulted in skipping paragraphs, because I felt like I had already read them.
I do think this is a book for any rom-com lover but particularly for sapphic readers who love fake dating, well-written (SAPPHIC!!) spice and travel romances.

this was officially my first time reading a queer romance. it was quite an enjoyable experience but ended up just being an okay read to me :(

obviously it had some fun things going for it like fake dating, the "one bed" scenario, and a road trip.

it took me awhile to get an understanding of the characters. i adored Lia, she seemed very put together and was so understanding with Grace but her straightforward-ness is what made me really like her. unfortunately with Grace, because of all the back and forth between her situation and hesitancy of relationships, it all became too repetitive and found her character to be unhappy with everything

but in saying that, i also felt that Lia and Grace together, really complimented each other

i was truly invested in their story but that last chapter just seemed a bit too coincidental regarding Grace's past, and i don't know...kind of took the little connection i had out of it

This was a good read, enjoyed it

I enjoyed reading this book! The book is not only a cute romance, but also tackles tougher topics such as infertility and mental health. I read this as a standalone, so I'm not sure what I missed from the first novel, but this book held up pretty well as a standalone, and could definitely be read that way.

Fake dating is often annoying to me because it's cheesy and can be unbelievable, but I thought the author did a good job with making it seem realistic in this novel. I did feel as though the story was a bit repetitive at points, which put me in a bit of a slump in terms of trying to finish this story which is why I've deducted a star.

No Rings Attached was my first read by Rachel Lacey, and I definitely want to read more from her.

This was a lovely rom-com featuring favorite tropes such as “fake dating” and the “one bed” trope. There was also a road trip, which I was not expecting and was pleasantly surprised by. This was one of my favorite sapphic books that I read last year, and each of the characters were memorable and distinct.

I cannot wait to pick up Lacey‘s other books. I recommend this book to fans of Casey McQuiston and Helen Hoang. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

As soon as I heard Rachel Lacey wrote a sequel to Read Between the Lines, I knew I wanted to read it. No Rings Attached is the story of Lia and Grace who are introduced by Rosie when Lia needs a date for her brother’s wedding. Although their relationship starts out as fake, they realize they have very real feelings for each other. I liked this book overall even though I could not stand Grace. I feel like commitment phobe is so overdone and Grace’s refusal to see things from any perspective but her own really annoyed me. I wish that she’d realized the consequences of her actions sooner as it would have made her a much more likable character. Even though I didn’t love this book, I liked it enough that I would still recommend it.

So cute and romantic while also dealing with plenty of real life stuff. This was exactly what I needed right now, a good LGBT romance to make my heart warm. Fake dating and sharing a bed and all the good tropes. Just a great little romance, I had a good time with it.

This books was filled with tropes I love. Fake dating, grump/sunshine, and one bed?! It should have been a book I loved…. But it just wasn’t.

A lot of this book felt clunky with dialogue and descriptions that didn’t really need to be there, all the while be a book that is only 315 pages.

Perhaps it’s the writing style that I also didn’t love, as so much of it was telling and not showing.

I will say that I did actually really enjoy the relationship between Lia and Grace, and liked the layers that you had to peel back to figure out the root of each of them. I felt their chemistry was 100% believable, and liked their grumpy/sunshine dynamic.

Unfortunately, regardless of the romance, this book just didn’t do it for me.

Which trope is better: fake dating, or hidden romance? When it comes to No Rings Attached, there’s no need to choose!

In the second installment of the Ms. Right series by Rachel Lacey, it’s Rosie’s best friends’ turn to fall in love! Lia is tired of being the fifth wheel in her apartment, and all of her family and friends seem to be falling in love around her this summer. Desperate for a plus one for her brother’s wedding in the UK, Lia caves to the suggestion of bringing Grace- Rosie’s mysterious close friend from high school- along for the ride. As much as Grace would prefer to deal with her own romance and family issues, she decides to agree with the outrageous plan of being the fake girlfriend of someone she’s never met. She’s already across the pond, so why not? It’s not like they’ll fall in love for real… right?

While this sapphic romance sounds like it would be short and sweet, it has everything! Road trips, secret crushes, family baggage, plot twists- you name it, it’s in there. Each chapter brings an additional subject to the story to keep the plot fresh but not overcrowded. There are also some salacious scenes throughout the journey- hey, it is a romance, after all!

I do feel the need to add that the ending was a bit outrageous. However, this did not ruin the book entirely, and I would still recommend reading it once it has been released. Please also note there are mentions of parental death, infidelity, and automobile accidents.

While it won’t be available until April 2022, the first installment of the Ms. Right series, Read Between The Lines is out now. If you’re a fan of LGBT Romances, get to reading so you’re ready for Lia and Grace’s story this spring!

This book is fine. I do still want to read Rachel Lacey's previous title, Read Between the Lines, because there was enough promise in this companion novel to warrant my seeking it out.

There were a few things that did annoy me -- Lia and Grace competing to be Rosie's best friend -- and a few things I wish had been done differently -- I wish the term 'demisexual' had actually been used when Grace was describing herself -- but for the most part I enjoyed this little book, even if it totally followed the romance formula..

All in all, a good time.

I thoroughly enjoyed this fake dating, there's only one bed, road trip romance. Lia and Grace are both compelling characters and their romance felt real and true. Watching them fall in love (while trying to avoid it) was a delight.
This is my first Rachel Lacey book but it surely won't be the last!

This book caught my eye since I saw the cover, and then the idea of an interconnected series of sapphic romance completely took over me
.
No Rings Attached is the second book in the Ms. Right by Rachel Lacey series.
.
The first book in the series is an Enemies to lovers and in this second a fake dating -one bed trope, but the most distinctive thing about her books is how she describes what goes through the mind and the heart of each character, making of her books a whole journey
.
Lia Harris must come back to London for her brother wedding and her parents hope to meet her girlfriend, a girlfriend who for months no longer occupies the same place in her life
.
Her friend and partner at the 'Between the pages' bookstore offers to arrange an appointment for her with a friend who lives in London to accompany her for that weekend. Little could she imagine what awaited her when she met Grace
.
Grace for her part gave up her life with connections beyond her friends, involved only in work, but when she meets Lia and agrees to accompany her whitout knowing that the chemistry between them was going to put her life in check just when some things from the past appear to shake her
.
It was a slow pace reading for me, the start was soft and with a slow meet cute but picks up speed and as the story progresses, the feelings of both characters begin to grow and each test that appears in the way of both characters leaves the reader eager for a good ending
.
Thanks to Montlake and Rachel Lacey for give me this beautiful book in exchange for my honest opinion I enjoyed reading it

This is a super charming, fun read that's mostly light with some touching on heavier topics, like feeling lonely as an adult and trying to meet the expectations of your family and friends. I'm usually not one for romances but enjoyed this book, as I can never get enough of queer women and their love stories. I think readers would especially enjoy this one if you're into London and NYC, as those two cities especially feel like characters in addition to Lia and Grace.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book.
Things I liked:
1. Representation in romance
2. Not having a wedding date when your sibling is getting married is a good plot. That’s something most people can identify with.
3. The mutual respect and consent in this relationship is something I love seeing in contemporary romances
4. I found Lia to be such a mature character. It was really refreshing to read about a character who was a good communicator and valued open and honest communication
5. I liked that there were a few different subplots of interest to follow
6. Tons of steam 🔥🔥🔥
7. One bed trope is always a fan favorite

Things I didn’t like:
1. Lia and Grace weren’t enemies enough for this to be an “enemies to lovers” romance and they weren’t really friends so it wasn’t exactly a “friends to lovers” either
2. Grace jumps to the immediate conclusion that her mom must have cheated on her dad and then nurtures her anger for 10 years. I found this to be unbelievable
3. Mundane dialog in some of this. There were parts that felt like filler.

I actually had this novel in my TBR on GoodReads ever since finishing Read Between the Lines by the same author, and it did not disappoint. For those curious, this novel involves characters from Read Between the Lines which was a 5 star read for me, and I recommend reading that one first. No Rings Attached is a perfect accompaniment to Read Between the Lines. I love the characters in both books and we love a good slow burn LGBTQ romance. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a cozy comfort read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Loved this sequel. I am so glad to have characters didn't instantly change for each other but actually seemed to talk about things

Fake dating and only one bed? Sign me up!!! It is the first time I read a Rachel Lacey book but my expectations were high. I was not disappointed. Lia and Grace have a crazy connection and the chemistry is off the charts. Throw in a kiss to validate their fake dating story and boom electricity that is hard to ignore. It's a 2nd installment but can easily be read as a standalone (I haven't read the first one yet but will soon). All the characters are amazing (even the side characters) and honestly I need a girl gang like this one to go to Pride with.

oh man i loved this book so much. the genuine queer rep of crushing on your childhood best friend for no other reason than you’re both the only queer girls! kissing in front of a T. rex at a museum (a new life goal for me, a lifelong dinosaur kid, tbh)! taylor swift references! and of course, a lovely slow-burn sapphic romance, an incredible exploration of grief and guilt, and a really great cast of realistic characters. plus some sprinkles of spice, which is always a welcome bonus. overall, one of my favorite romance reads this year!
