This is absolutely my kind of book and I was so excited to dive into it! Unfortunately, I find my self DNFing it.

The writing style is extremely choppy, it feels like half the story is missing and sentences are half formed. I know I would ordinarily love this book, but the writing just turned me off of it.

I generally love bully romances when they’re written well. Unfortunately, that can be a hard thing to accomplish. Shattered Princess just didn’t hit the mark for me no matter how much I would’ve liked for it to. I couldn’t feel a connection with any of the characters. Rory was a big contradiction and Cole was the typical bad boy to the point that it was kinda cliché.

The story itself was pretty confusing at times and I get like there was just too much going on. Things were mentioned and not explained. It was likely to foreshadow possibly a plot point in the next book, but it muddied everything a little too much. And I still don’t feel like we got a reason as to why Cole and Finn hated her or at least treated her like crap.

Normally, I have an issue with a book telling instead of showing, but this book described way too much. It said the same thing in different ways. I think in editing it could be pared down to help the story read a little smoother. Also, it was in need of major editing in general. I didn’t take off any stars for that because it is an ARC and the author could have an updated version ready to go.

Enemies to lovers, a heroine with a dark secret, a hero who is such a dick… and the other secret that connects the two of them with a kind of solution at the end of the book but not enough to not need the second one (but it said in the description that this book ends on a cliffhanger).

I liked the story and the characters. He was a bit of a cliche „my family is so rich that I have power even over my teachers and when I throw my name around everybody does as I say“ but it was quite enjoyable.

For fans of Bully or Fear me.

The description of this book is great, though reading it did not live up to the hype. The flow and some chapters seemed awkward for a new adult book about teenagers in high school. Specifically a chapter from the past had dialogue that did not match a 12 year old child. It is a bully romance, but I did not understand why the bully hated the main character. It barely hints of trauma through the novel and then dumps the reasoning out sort of clumsily. I thought "Shattered Princess" might be similar to "Paper Princess, " which I enjoyed. Though it had similar themes. This is probably not a series I would continue to read.

This was pretty good, I was hooked from the start. Maybe because I’m a sucker for an underdog story. The MC Aurora “Rory” has had a tough life living on her own since she was 14 since neither of her parents cared much about her. But this made her tough, and she isn’t someone who needs saving. After learning of her mother’s death, Rory is sent to live her with Father. When she arrives she is reacquainted with Finn (half-brother), Eli (long-time friend) and Cole (love interest) - together they make up the Hellhounds. While there Rory rekindles her damaged relationship with her father, bonds with her half brother, and falls for Cole. However, Cole is hiding something that could destroy everything. The books ends with a cliffhanger, and I am looking forward to continuing the series!

Personally, I didn’t like this book. It felt like there was no linear plot and lots of jump cuts when the next chapter would start and it was hard to tell what day it was and what was going on there.

It also made me very uncomfortable that there was sexual content that involved minors. I wasn’t comfortable reading that about high schoolers and so that also factored into the one star review.

I also found 3 typos and that didn’t seem correct. I felt like I was reading a fan fiction, not a book.

Amber Vant has hit my top 5 authors. Her writing keeps your attention and you feel for the characters. Her writing is one where you're telling people hold on just one more page. To be honest I was sad when this book ended and can't wait for the second book Broken Heir.

This book follow Rory a teen who has only herself to count on, since the people around her keep letting her down. This forces her to be jaded and hard. Rory is forced to go back to her dad's Abram. Who abandoned her. This is just one of the many bricks in Rory's hard road she has.
The Hardin Hellhounds are the boys who run the school and town and come from money. There is Fin who is Rory's half brother and someone who can't stand Rory and shows it in anyways he can. There is Cole, who despises Rory for unknown reasons. Lastly, is Eli who was Rory's friend before she was forced to leave the first time. When she left he started hanging with Fin and Cole. These three make up the hellhounds.

Coming from money has its own pressure and issues and Cole has seen and felt it first hand.
Rory has been handed one slap after the next and can't catch a break. What she doesn't know is both her and Cole have secrets that will alter everyone's life.
The hellhounds need Rory's help with a plan. Cole can't stop thinking about Rory and he will fight the attraction all he can. Rory is drawn to Cole, but hates him and all he had done to hurt her. But fate and one mistake after the next forces them to address there feelings, but can both let down walls and push aside trauma? Will they let their secrets stop them from becoming who they are?

First off the cover of this book is gorgeous and one of the main reasons I wanted to read this book. It sucked me right in. Now let’s get to the book itself. I feel like I’ve read this same book 1,000 times. I just found myself bored and constantly putting it down or going to read other books. It’s just like any other bully romance. I really wanted to love it. But I do think the author writes very well.

I really enjoyed this book. The pacing was spot on, and I loved the character's depths and how they interacted with everyone. It was such a fast, fun read, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get lost in a great story for a while!

This is a High School Bully book. Aurora (Rory) Hale is the result of an affair, she has been on her own for a few years after she escaped a bad home life with her single Mother. Her Father abandoned her after she supposedly nearly burnt down his barn and the time she spent with Eli, her step-brother Finn and his friend Cole Kellet was no more.

She has forge a life for herself, struggling to get by with only the basic necessities and working at a diner to scrape together enough money to eat.

After the death of her Mother she finds back at her Father's home and taking the family name. Life is extremely hard as the three boys she used to know are now verging on manhood and are know as the Hellhounds, running the School and anything else they wish to.

Rory is now the target of not only the Hellhounds but also her Father's wife Lorna. She now has the biggest fight of her life to survive in this new World and luckily she has found a new friend in Hailey, a scholarship student who has her back every step of the way.

I think this could have been a very good book but I found the vocabulary all over the place at times, words missing and sentences just not making sense. Some of the scenes were juvenile to me in context to the situations and the sex scenes just made me cringe. I believe this book needs a really good edit before publishing. I don't think I would bother with the next book in the series.

I definitely enjoyed reading this book. The tension between characters kept me hooked, although the start was a bit slow/confusing without much background. The entire book gave me the vibes of Paper Princess. I'm excited for the next books in this series.

I don't typically love a bully romance book but this one has changed my mind. I forgot this was an ARC at one point and looked for the second one. I can't wait!

This book is about a girl, Rory who was living on her own being forced to live back with her dad, and when she gets there her half-brother, Finn, and his best friend, Cole, basically bully her. Eli, being her friend on a previous visit doesn't really stick up for her but doesn't bully her himself. The bullying only occurred a handful of times though and then switches over to trying to get her to hang out with them and having her become close to them and making her one of them. This is the part I felt was rushed and the whole time the MC is wanting the person who bullies her, its almost like she enjoyed it because it was Cole.

I am very impressed with this book, and how the author made her MC not a victim but a survivor and someone who stands up for other people. I loved how strong her MC was, and how she didn't whine about everything. I hate those kinds of MCs. The storyline has potential and I bet we will see that more during the second book. I am glad the author used dual POVs for this, I love seeing how the other characters think, and maybe why they do what they do, especially her bullies. I could not put this book down, I highly recommend it.

Why I can't give it 5 stars.
Sometimes I felt like there was no concept of time, or maybe a bigger question is: How did we get from hate to love? I couldn't tell that there was a gradual shift. One moment they hate each other the second they love each other, it was a bit confusing.

It ended on a cliffhanger, which I only love when the next book is already out :D but overall I did love this book, and I will be reading the second one as soon as I can. If you want a quick easy read that may touch on issues, that you can't put down and leave you with a cliffhanger. Then this book is for you!

I would give this book 5 star, I love how the plot moved, that it wasn’t moving too slow or to fast and honestly before I knew it I finished the book, the character are amazing. I love how we say the different pov with the main character and I can’t wait unit the next one

This was another first for me, and I still can’t believe it happened to me. I binged read this entire book in one night; now to some that probably sounds like nothing. But no book has ever made me do that. The detailing in the plot hooked me right away, the characters and the way they interacted with each other was addicting.
There were a few things that did get me though, the grammar. There were a few grammatical errors that should probably be addressed before it is really let out into the public. Another is that even though the chapters follow two Point of Views; there are about 5 main characters. Sometimes it’s confusing who’s talking during the chapters; and some minor details for specific events. Meaning certain important events were missing key details to make sense of what was going on. But then later on it somehow all makes sense; so maybe it was me and my tiny mind.
But I absolutely can’t wait for the next book, the cliffhanger for this book was great. Also did I mention that this was another extreme ENEMIES TO LOVERS? Thank you so much Amber Vant, Netgalley, and Victory Editing.

As much as I tend to love bully romances, Shattered Princess just didn't work for me. The writing style was distracting, and I got confused often because there was little to no context between various events and aspects of the story. For example, Finn hates Rory until all of a sudden they're bonding and good half-siblings, and I never saw that shift or change happen. One second, they were enemies, and the next, they weren't. Stuff like this happened several times throughout the book, and all of it just left me a bit frustrated.

Rory is nearly 18 and has been scraping by on her own for the last 4 years when news that her estranged mother has died and her super wealthy dad, who threw her out, steps in to take over custody and the role of dad once again. Now she is thrust into prep school with the hellhounds – her half-brother and his two best friends who make her adjustment very difficult. A sweet new friend steps in to show her the ropes, get her to all the parties and to reacclimate her to the life of the privileged. As Rory starts to feel at home, the hellhounds repeatedly strike. But there is something else there too – is Cole really all that bad?

There were moments that I really enjoyed this novel (which is the first of two) and others where I wanted to roll my eyes. The bad boy trope is definitely at use in this novel which is enjoyable when the bad boy is not also causing red flags to constantly pop into my head. I also had a hard time taking in that a few ultra-wealthy 18-year-old sons could rule the prep school and town with no consequences. But again, this novel has it's moments and I am definitely interested in where this story is going in book two. An okay read if you are willing to look past some things and enjoy the bit of mystery and romance brewing between Rory and Cole. 2 stars.

I really wished I enjoyed this book as I've seen great reviews so I wish I liked it more.
I liked how the book was in a dual POV but the main character Rory really annoyed me sometimes. The tropes were some of my favourite but I couldn't finish it.
I did see people say it ends with a really good plot twist so if this book sounds interesting to you I would give it a try as you may really like it unliked me.

I want to preface this review by saying that if you are not a fan of bully romance, this probably isn't the book for you. I'm picky about bully romance (I hate when the trope is overdone to the point of being cliche) but I think overall this book did the trope justice.

This was very well written: the author's mechanics are solid, and there were hardly any typos that I could find, which meant I could focus on the developing story. I greatly appreciated that. Rory had a *little* bit of the "I'm not like other girls" thing going on, which I found to be annoying at times, but she is certainly a headstrong main character: you know exactly where she stands. The building romance was believable and their relationship had depth and history, something that is often lacking in bully romance novels.

Overall, I was impressed with this book. And the cliffhanger at the end? Be still my heart! Will definitely be on the lookout for the next book. Thank you for allowing me to read this book before publication!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book!!
For one I love literally all of the characters and I think the plot line is super interesting and mysterious! I just wanted to mention a few things I noticed and hope will be helpful in the future!!

At times within the first few chapters of the book, I felt that the plot line was a slight bit jumpy, and found hard to differentiate and understand what the character was referring to, I mainly noticed this in the first chapter of Cole's POV and think it was to do with the formatting.

I also think that a line could be used in the middle of some chapters to separate different days/ time periods. I feel like this would allow the chapter layout to reman the same while clearly showing the multiple times and days in the one chapter!

The main character, Rory, does not always have to have the last word. I noticed this frequently especially when there was an argument with Cole. I found that Rory would often say something completely unnessicary as a comeback despite the argument being clearly over. I didn't mind it at first but slowly I started to feel slightly irritated as I felt she would have been better off walking away.

I also noticed a few things in relation to the hierarchy. I completely understand the hierarchy situation and the threat posed by the three hellhounds in the school environment, as not only are the three extremely popular and good looking, but Cole's Father is a huge investor in the schools facilities.

I also understand, the hierarchy in the workplace, as it is their fathers who own the business,

but the issue I have is the hierarchy in public situations. For example, when Rory is caught stealing at the jewellery store, and Cole simply beats up the security guard and mentions both his and Rorys surname to avoid trouble.

I just felt as though this was unnessicary and personally i felt like the 'title' and hierarchy thing got a bit repetitive especially when it was completely unrelated. If the security had have been rude or accused Rory, without evidence i understand, but Rory was in the wrong and so whether through any fault of her own or not I think that flashing a name was not enough.

The last thing I noticed and felt it may be useful more so in the future is that we see Rory quite clearly falling for Cole in her POV's as well as a few moments where it seems Cole is falling for her, although with Coles POV's we didn't see that half as much, and for the roughly the first half it seemed quite one sided, so possibly in the future a few more 'moments' in the guys POV would be fun!!

Overall I really enjoyed this book and loved seeing these relationships grow and evolve!!

An enthralled enemies to lovers story! That I couldn't read fast enough.
I adored Rory and her character.
The storyline was surprisingly interesting and had me flipping the pages very quickly.
I enjoyed Shattered Princess and Amber Vant's writing so much I am interested to read book two.
