Diving into a book where you step right into the middle of someone's life is almost disconcerting. It's equally as exhilarating. Every turn of the page left me wondering what the heck was the end game! Amber truly kept you on the edge of your seat with this one. Overlooking the sexual scenes and vulgarity of the boys (that doesn't necessarily add to the content or plot), I really enjoyed this book!!

This book is an enemies to lovers which is why I requested to read it on NetGalley. The synopsis sounded very interesting, but the book left a lot to desire. I feel like I missed half the book somewhere or only got a chapter every few weeks because things were rushed. We also didn’t get a whole lot of character building or story building. I really did enjoy the characters and the found family aspect of it. I wish we got to see more interactions of the characters. This book does have twists and turns that will keep you on your toes. There are some grammar errors that I’m assuming will be fixed. Overall, this book has a good idea, but could be executed better.

I found the first opening chapters a tad confusing and lost track of what was going on however soon caught up and once the story really got going the writing and overall storytelling improved.

There were a couple of small grammar mistakes throughout, but not too many.

Overall I loved all the characters, you can see the growth each character has throughout the book. I would like to see the story drawn out some more as I do feel it was very fast pace and would be even better with it being drawn out.

However in the end the book was very enjoyable, and once I was deep in the story it was impossible to out the book down!

I cannot wait for the sequel…. I mean what an ending!!

Shattered Princess is a fast-paced enemies-to-lovers romance about a 17-year-old girl, Rory, who has been surviving based on her own wits until she is forced to move back to her father’s home. The same antagonists she left behind are still there, ready to pick up where they left off. The characters of Rory and Cole were particularly well-developed and I would love to see some of the others more fleshed in the sequels. The story ends with a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the next installment.

The tacit approval by fellow students of their classmates misogynistic behavior makes this book more appropriate for New Adults and up, vs. the teen/YA range, who may not be able to recognize the inappropriateness of that behavior. I realize this is an ARC, but this is the most incomplete editing I’ve encountered, making the readability an issue. Usually an ARC only requires light editing, but this still needs significant grammatical corrections. About half of the non-dialog content is dangling clauses, so this may work better as an audiobook. Due to the grammatical errors, I cannot recommend this for library collections.

I had a love hate relationship with this book for the most part. I loved the characters in this book and the enemies to lovers trope. The main character Rory was strong and independent however it was great to see her walls one down in this book. While she allowed people she cared about the chance to get close to her. She was able to make a new life for herself and one in which she was striating to find true happiness.
At points in this book it was hard to determine where that characters were or when the location of the characters was changing making it a little hard for me to follow along at times. Also the language of this book is way more vulgar than a teen book should be but I still enjoyed in none the less!

Loved the book. At the beginning I was hesitant and almost put it down. The first pages were not so engaging, I don’t know if it was the lack of background story or just the scene itself. It gives the impression the story was rushed. But I was glad I kept reading as things soon got better.

At times it was difficult to read thought. In chapters, they sometimes switches scenes without making it clear. So one time you are reading about this and then the next line it’s about something else which was confusing a few times. I did go back a few times to see if I missed something but i didn’t. Making me want to give it a 3 stars but I loved the story so much.

But I loved the story and can’t wait to read the second book as this book does end with an open ending.

Firstly, this book is not for young teens, there’s graphic sexual encounters, violence and swearing. There’s also a suggestion of a sexual attack so please be wary if you have a trigger as there is no warning at the start.

The book follows Rory a 17 year old who is out there trying to make it on her own. Her mum is non existent and we don’t know where her dad is….until she finds out her mum has died and she now needs to live with him.
Rory has to go back to living in his house with his wife and son and try to survive the next few months so when she turns 18 she can leave again.
But what she doesn’t count on is the hell she gets from the Hellhounds, they start off with impractical ‘jokes’ which gradually get worse….until they decide she is one of them! The worst of the Hellhounds is Cole, the leader of the gang who takes great pleasure in running Rory down, but she doesn’t give up and fights back just as hard.
Cole realises Rory isn’t the same girl as before and they soon turn from enemies to lovers.

The book does end on a cliffhanger so be aware!

The typos and grammar in the book were shocking and I had to re read paragraphs many times before they made any sense. That said I read the book in 2 days, my curiosity on what was going to happen overcame the errors!

Interesting bully romance with great characters with mystery and romance. I can't wait to for part two.

Shattered Princess is the first book of the Hardin Hellhounds series. This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I really enjoyed it. I love the tension between the two main characters, Rory and Cole. It’s dual POV, so you get to see both character’s thoughts, which I enjoy. When we meet Rory, you can tell she’s been through a lot and doesn’t trust easily, for valid reasons. The author did an excellent job of tugging on my heartstrings with Rory’s character. Sometimes I wanted to reach through the book and give Rory a hug because of everything she’s been through. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but there is a twist at the end that I didn’t see coming. It leads to a cliffhanger at the end of the book. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

There is a great story here. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes, so this book was right up my alley. The plot definitely had potential, but I felt like it was a little rushed. It's like we got thrown straight in with little context. For example, Alma who seemingly had a large part of Rory's life on her own, was only present for a heartbeat. And then when we got to meet the Hellhounds, they went straight from blatantly despising Rory to including her in every adventure. I understand they felt that they had to make her one of them, but most ill-feelings towards her vanished almost immediately. That being said, I absolutely loved the characters. I especially loved the chemistry between Rory and Cole. I could not stop reading after they first kissed. Overall it is a good story. I just had a few critiques that I couldn't let go of. Also there were quite a few grammar errors/ typos.
