Returning For His Unknown Son is written by Tara Pammi and published by Mills & Boon Modern. A combination of marriage of convenience between Christian and Pryia. Christian suffers amnesia, plane crash whilst Pryia is a teenager who married, had a baby and become a CEO (growing up fast). Fast forward 8 years plus (deep breathe) the hero comes back to find he has a son should culminate in a great read but somehow it doesn’t. I normally enjoy Tara Pammi’ s novels and read them in one sitting. I struggled to get through this one. Not the most enjoyable of reads.

All thoughts and opinions are mine

I enjoyed this quite short read
A bit of an improbable plot line but this is M&B so used to these kinds of premises

After a convenient marriage at the start of the book, we next catch up with Priya and Christian 8 years later. 8 years in which Christian had an accident and lost all his memory to the day when he saw a picture of priya on a newspaper and it all came back. Now he is back in her life and meeting the son he never knew he had. I found some parts hard to believe, for example a man as rich as Christian - his death would have been in all the papers, especially if his body not found both where he lives and where the crash happened, so how could no one reconise him at the hospital? If you look past these points then the book is easy to read and follow and you see Christian and Priya having to overcome eveything in their way to become a family for the first time, they must learn to be honest with each other and to show their true feelings.

A shortish story looking at memory loss, Christian crashes his car and disappears for 8 years. Priya raises their son, runs their company and assumes him dead. His return is the main part of the book and we follow how they get back together and work out if they have a future and what it look like.
I didn’t mind the highly improbable plot line but the emotional responses from our couple were a little shallow and for such a huge medical issue it was treated in an almost cavalier attitude.

I like Tara Pammi’s voice and I have enjoyed most of her books. She creates fully fleshed out characters and sets them on a journey which is always engaging.

This was rather unusual and quite frankly I wasn’t sure at times whether I was liking it or not. Amnesia, an 8 year gap since the h/H we’re together. Misunderstandings (even before the plane crash which ruined Christian’s memory) galore, a heroine who had gone from prim adolescent to strong CEO and mother to their son. The focus on them being together- exploring whether they could make their marriage work was beautifully done. I was with both of them as they struggled, explored, negotiated and tried to reach each other.

TP is a skilful writer and this was a beautifully executed love story.
