Great storyline and a very well written book. This is full of emotions that you wont want to put this down. I felt as though I was in Greece along with this novel. Well and truly worth 5 stars.

One Last Letter from Greece is a fantastic debut novel. It has all the right ingredients - love, loss, relationship issues and the mystery of a missing painting. Her journey, following in her mother's footsteps, takes central character Sophie to the Greek town of Methoni. and a search for answers that leads to romance with handsome fisherman Theo. Set against a backdrop of blue skies, olive groves and, of course, fabulous Greek food, the story was an emotional roller coaster that kept me reading well into the early hours. I look forward to more from this writer.

Sophie travels to the island of Methoni to search for one of her mother's paintings in this fairly trope=y but still entertaining novel about grief and love. Her mother spent summers on the lovely island, painting and loving life. Sophie doesn't expect to do anything more than heal a bit from her death and find the art work but then she meets Theo. These two, well, you know what's going to happen but Cowell does a nice job with it. There's a subplot involving the infertility issues of Sophie's BFF that felt extraneous but I appreciate how sensitively it is addressed. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good beach read.

When Sophie’s mother passes away, she he’s to Greece, to find her last painting. But what she wasn’t expecting to find or hear was secrets about her mother.

She is still trying to get over the loss of her mother, will the secrets help her? What will happen regarding her new relationship with Theo, is it more than just a holiday romance?

The story made me continue reading to know what happens next.

Theo has his own problems that he is trying to solve and Sophie too has things she has to work through.

The other story in this book is about Tiff, Sophie’s friend, back home she is going through IVF - like Sophie, she wants to be a mother.

I loved the setting of the story, making this a perfect summer read.

Sophie's mum was a famous artist, and being brought up by a single mum they couldn't be closer. Sophie thought she knew Lindsey inside out, but she couldn't be more wrong.

When Lindsey dies, a set of events sends her searching for a lost painting of her mother's. One of a set of 5 that hasn't been seen by anyone, except for the photocopy that she finds in her mum's wardrobe. Sophie has to park her life, and travel to the Greek Island where the paintings were set. An early dip in the sea sees Sophie having to be rescued by a handsome Greek man, which sets off a chain of events no one expected.

This is a story full of mystery, romance, beautiful scenery, friendship and escaping from controlling behaviour. A lovely summery novel.

The fact that I read "One last letter from Greece" while on holiday in Greece really helped me getting into the atmosphere of the book. I loved the few descriptions of food, light and landscapes. I enjoyed the use of the Greek language as it was relevant to my own context.

I did enjoy reading this book, it was very easy and quite gripping at time. The grief and loss that the main character experiences is well described and feels honest and relatable. Her loss pops up throughout the book as it would throughout one's life. As well as the pain and nostalgia one might feel . There is other traumas during the book such as abuse and miscarriage/child loss, but I thought these were less organic and felt less real.

The novel is also about love and and friendship. I did found the characters quite terribly selfish at times, a little controlling and the whole plot so very predictable.

Overall, it is what I call a 'beach read', it isn't a masterpiece but it is enjoyable.

I expected something spectacular. The Greek holiday with the excellent food, breathtaking views, and stories is hard to forget. But this one... it was different.

My expectations were to big. This book is not bad, don't get me wrong. It was ok. Just ok. Without any fireworks, delightful gasps and great moments. For me, it is not enough.

I understand that this is a debut. But taking into account, a huge number of new release, this story will be probably forgotten.

I miss the unique atmosphere, something which make this story special and worth to be recommended.

So, this time... not really for me.

Sofie has just lost her mother and is trying to come to terms with her grief by travelling to Greece to try and find one of her mother Linsey's lost paintings. A story of heartbreaking romance, and tears, the author takes you on the emotional roller-coaster that Sofie goes through. The food and Greek countryside do have a few cursory mentions throughout the book and lend to a refreshing read. I found the end a bit predictable, but the book has good substance with enough twists and angel references for one to plough through,

This was a delightful story addressing the dilemma of whether to follow your heart or your head and covers two generations. The characters were excellent and very easy to become attached to. The setting for most of the story was developed as a very appealing location, residents included. My kind of conclusion!

Sophie feels like someone is following her, maybe it’s because she has been asking questions about the missing painting or could it be her ex fiancée?

Sophie meets Theo, a gorgeous fisherman, she's very attracted to him and love is the last thing Sophie expected to find in Greece. Sophie and Theo have both been hurt in the past, they live in different countries, run their own businesses, and her best friend Tash lives in England and Sophie feels torn between the two of them.

This is my first book from that author. This is her first book on Amazon!!!! How exciting!!!!
What attracted me to the book was the Greek backdrop mixed with a romance theme. The book did not disappoint! The characters have the depth I love to see in my books, I was totally lost in it, in fact I was there with them!!!!
I could not recommend enough this book, first of hopefully many more to come!

After Sophie’s mum dies she finds a painting her mum had completed set in Greece in a town called Methoni.
Trying to come to terms with her mothers death and the sorrow she is feeling she decides to take a trip to Methoni to find out more about the painting and her mother. There Sophie will find a lot more including romance.

A lovely first novel from Emma Cowell.

The book begins by telling the reader that Sophie's famous artist mother has passed away. When she discovers a link to Greece and a missing painting by her mother, she decides to visit Methoni and try to locate the final piece in the collection. Can Sophie find the painting, and understand why her mother visited Greece so often without her daughter?

Lots of side stories, including an abusive ex and child loss. I'm not sure the story needed quite so much detail on some of them, but it didn't detract too much from the main storyline for me.

A truly emotional book, I cried at many points. Beautiful descriptions of the locations and of the food make it a very visual novel.

There is definitely room for improvement but for a debut book this was enjoyable. Characters were nice and the story flowed well. There just felt something was lacking, perhaps a little more depth would be good.
