I unfortunately could not get into this book. But this might be for another type of reader, and wish the best for the writers.

After reading a few of the author’s books over the years, and finishing the second book in this series, I went back and read the one where everything started.
It’s a very different story from what I was used from the author before but in a good way different. I liked the opposite attraction and while some of the characters were not on my liking list, their chemistry and sparkly interactions drawn me in this beach small town beautiful romance story.

Good girl bad guy, rich and poor, they both have things to get through and fight for their relationship but it’s all worth it in the end.

I gave this a go multiple times but couldn't make it past the halfway mark. I didn't particularly enjoy the characters which I think is especially important in romance books

If you love Chesapeake Shores, small quaint seaside town vibes with the bad boy Sons of Anarchy type minus the motor cycle wielding tools playing games with the seemly boring rich girl 'clone' only for them to fall in love then this is the book for you.

I loved everything about this book, yes the story has been done before (it's a great story that's why) but I love how developed Cooper & McKenzie are with their own views and hardships life has dealt them and how McKenzie settled into Cooper & Evans world, not forgetting little Daisy. Not only do you get steamy romance but there are other storylines with McKenzies hotel dreams and Levi's plan for the boys.

Honestly can see this book translated to TV screen! Can't wait to visit Avalon Bay again!

This started well , the beginning hooked me and I find the characters interesting.

I loved the good girl meets bad boy story, they have such a great chemistry through the story.

It's not my favorite book from Elle but I love her books so much and this even though it's not her usual style it was still enjoyable.

In all honesty, this wasn’t great and I don’t think it fulfilled its purpose. I’d imagine it’s meant to be a holiday read but it took me weeks to read and didn’t really enjoy it.

I have really enjoyed Elle Kennedy books in the past and had high hopes for this when it was coming out. After having a few issues with the e-ARC from NetGalley I have managed to read it and whilst I did enjoy the book and KENNEDY’s style of writing did not disappoint I was a little deflated with the storyline. But I can’t honestly say way so I am putting this down to personal taste and overall recommend the book.

I really enjoyed this, not one of my new favourites but still a great small town romance. What really made this for me was the characters in here Mac and Cooper were such a great pair, and I loved their chemistry and the family dynamics were so good even the little bits we get about Evan and his love interest made me excited to read his story. A good small town romance with a great cast of characters but not too much plot. Definitely worth a read if you're into your romances.

Thank you to the publishers for a copy of the book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

This book started off on the wrong foot with me and just never recovered. And it basically has to do with the cheating element on which the entire romance was built. It’s one of my least favourite topics to read about. So unfortunately this was a 1 star

I had heard great things about Elle Kennedy's previous works, especially how addictive they were and how easily people flew through reading them. This sounded like exactly what I needed so I did have pretty high expectations when I picked Good Girl Complex up, and I have to say they were mostly met. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Mac and Cooper, and how they read as equals rather than one of them having a much stronger personality and character development. One of my favourite elements of the story is an extension of Mac's strong and stubborn nature, in her business-oriented mind and her success at it, and I loved how it played such a big part in her sense of self. The dynamic between Mac and Cooper provided the classic opposites-attract trope that I am a big fan of in romances, and this one didn't disappoint! The small-town setting was great too, so I'm glad to see that Kennedy will be continuining to write more in this location.

This book has a lot of hype, and rightfully so! Elle Kennedy has done it again, and writing a cracking book. Following Mac's life, and seeing it partially through Cooper was just gripping. I couldn't put this book down, with wanting to finish it ASAP. It was the perfect combination of character development, plot line, and romance. Amazing read, especially with the summer months coming up.

Having read Elle Kennedy's other books and pretty much devouring them - I was expecting to really love this book too and it's sad to say but I just couldn't get into this one at all. I think the whole book just felt so cliched and the central conflict / romance just felt so flat and one dimensional. When I first started it I was enjoying the story but the further in I got the more I found myself rolling my eyes at some of the moments because none of it felt believable or appealing. I think there may be some readers who will enjoy this and fair play if you did.

I enjoyed this for what it was, a quick and fun read, albeit a bit predictable and cliche. I preferred the secondary characters a bit more than the main couple. Cooper's twin Evan became a favorite so hopefully he will get a book!
*Thank you to Netgalley and Little, Brown Book Group UK for the for the arc in exchange for an honest review*

Loved the drama and setting of this book! I'm such a hopeless romantic so this appealed to me straight away. Looking forward to the sequel!

DNF'd.

Having tried this book, I had issues with the e-Arc I received, and was unable to read beyond the first chapter. I hope to pick up my own copy in future.

This is a book which has captured my interest from the beginning. I love how this is written. It is filled with a mix of characters and has been a book I have been unable to predict.

I was so excited to receive this review copy after reading The Deal last year. Elle Kennedy’s books are so easy to read and always leave me with such a happy feeling after I’ve read them. This one especially gave me such a cosy and calm feeling after reading. The beach setting and the animal aspect of this book as well as the romance which left me craving more from the couple. This had all the best aspects of The Deal with the perfect location and the perfect guy added in.
This follows Mackenzie who has her entire life figured out; a perfect boyfriend, her career planned out and parents who expect the most. All she wants to do is focus on her business, but her parents are insisting that she gets a degree first. Cooper hates the prep school students that fill his beach for most of the year. When Cooper is dared to get close to Mac, he soon realises that she is not like every other ‘clone’ that he’s ever met.
The romance in this book made the book for me. Although some parts of the book were predictable, I loved how easy this romance was to read. There were some really cute moments between Mac and Cooper which left me smiling a little to myself. Cooper is everything you need in a book guy the tattoos; his personality and his vibes were perfect as well as the way he defends Mac against his friends made me so happy.
I loved the side characters in this book especially Evan. He was so calming and such a good energy in the book. Especially when him and Daisy are together it is the cutest thing ever. Although this book worked really well as a standalone, I would love to see a book based around Evan and him finding someone. Also, I would love to see his relationship with his brother and explore his feelings around his mum as well as his childhood. Mac and Evans friendship was so adorable to see develop throughout, and I would love to see this more in another book.
The one thing that I did not enjoy in this book was the ending. Everything felt really abrupt about the ending with the events that occurred at the end of the book. There felt like there was a lot of unresolved issue in the end and I would like to see these wrapped up in the next book. A lot of the characters have unresolved business so hopefully this will all be addressed.
Overall, this book was a cute, easy, fast read that I could enjoy on my way to work in a morning that I did not have to pay much attention too. I ended up giving it 3.5 stars because there were some things I loved about this book and some things that I did not enjoy as much. I had some issues with the ending and a couple of the events in the book but overall, it was such a fun book. Cooper and Mac are adorable, and Evan has my heart. I will continue with the series as I think this is the perfect beach read for summer and I can not wait to see where the series goes.

Elle Kennedy has written another book that you will fly through and thoroughly enjoy.
Mackenzie comes from money and has her life set out for her by her family but this all comes into question when she meets a certain set of identical twins that her family definitely won't approve of.

A cracking read overall and I highly recommend it.

Like any other Kennedy’s book this one didn’t disappoint.
The characters were on spot, the plot was intriguing and I just could put the book down until I reached its very end.
Would recommend!

Thank you to NetGalley for this advanced readers copy

I have mixed feelings about this book because on one hand I did genuinely enjoy reading it but in the other it is literally the plot of after.

I haven’t read after so I can’t discern whether the writing and characterisation is any better but it nevertheless is still the same plot.

I despise the cheating trope so that also didn’t help this books case.

I did love the setting and the concept of a small beach side town and would love to explore more of the characters like Evan.

Overall whilst I had a decent enough time reading this the bad boy seduces the good girl on a bet plot is seriously overdone.

3 stars
