I did enjoy reading about these two, it's a typical 'different sides of the track' kind of love story and they're always a bit of fun. Underestimated rich girl meets bad boy with a heart of gold – I'm going to be in from the get go. It didn't bowl me over but it did give me a much needed dose of comfort and light angst. Would recommend if you need to fall into another world and get swept away for a bit.

I have mixed feelings.

The romance was great. The two main characters had such amazing chemistry and I loved reading about their love journey and how they ended up together.

However, what is up with the resurgence of the bet/revenge trope? It was done to death in the 90s and it's not even a good trope. Please don't bring it back! I blame you 'After'. It's lazy storytelling and we all know from the get-go that that will be the cause of the third act conflict.

Also, the storyline with the hero's mom was random and dragged out the story so much. It's only purpose was to act as a catalyst for the money conflict.

I would have enjoyed the hotel angle a lot more. Why didn't we get more content featuring the renovations maybe creating an event of the opening of the hotel using the hero's carpentry for the furniture etc.

Also, the grovelling / make-up scene was extremely lacklustre and then the book just ends. We don't always need an epilogue but good golly, don't end so abruptly that it feels like the story cuts off in the middle of a scene.

So yes, I loved the actual romance but the I did not like the plot devices used in this story.

If you have read Elle Kennedy's previous works then you will probably know what to expect from this, This was an easily readable rich girl x bad boy story, with a good dose of humour and spice. There was a bit too much cheating in this book for my liking though, and I definitely preferred the MCs from her Off-Campus/Briar U series.

Thank you Little Brown Book Group and NetGalley for the arc of Good Girl Complex.

The book began with plenty cheesy moments but with further reading the characters and their relationship became believable and sweet.
GGC is a revenge-based romance. It was hugely predictable but enjoyable nonetheless.
I found myself laughing out loud at times which is a rarity for me when reading.

I wish some of the peripheral characters had more airtime, like Evan and Levi. I’d definitely read a sequel.

Themes of class and found family amongst the ‘not like other girls’ trope.

Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown Book Group UK for the years.

I requested this book because I genuinely enjoyed The Deal. It was a fun and easy read so I figured I would like this too. The cover also helped...I have nothing against half-naked men but at least this one I carry out in public. Unfortunately, I ended up having a rough time reading this book.

Nothing about it felt fun or new or even interesting. I've read books told just like this before and I could predict every plot twist. There were so many tropes thrown in and none of them developed properly. The ending was way too abrupt. The book just doesn't live up to the blurb. I honestly wouldn't even consider Mac to have a 'good girl complex'.

If you loved all of Elle Kennedy's books you'll have a good time reading this one. If you don't like the "this rich girl is not like other rich girls trope" don't even open this book. Lastly, The love interest once said that Mac was different and stood out because she wore jeans and a white t-shirt to a bar... Take what you want from that.

Perfect for fans of 'It Ends With Us!' Good Girl Complex is a fun & steamy read, packed with flirty banner and edge of the seat chemistry.

Okay, I really wanted to read this book, and I hoped it would be good, because I really love the authors style, but this one is After copy paste. So, so, sorry but it is.
It 's not bad, but it is all seen before I can not give this 5 stars, but I can not give it one star. So lets go with the middle, and say this is a 3 stars read.
Yes, it is lovely written and I adore Mac, but the whole idea of this book is another book.

Elle Kennedy is hands down one of my favourite romance authors, and her ability to make each story different is a real talent. Mac and Cooper are from opposite sides of life, but come together in a story about defying expectations and being different to what people expect. I absolutely loved it and hope we get more from Avalon Bay!

I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

When I say that I could not put this book down - I mean it. I started reading past 8pm and finished at exactly 01.41am, despite having to wake up for work the next day.

The relationship between Cooper and Mac is beautifully crafted throughout the pages in which they repeatedly challenge and grow with each other.

As a lover of romances with a little bit of spice, the perfectly balanced scenes of physical intimacy and deeper, emotional romance make this a classic contemporary love story.

With an enviable dose of chemistry, sexual tension and humour, this book is a satisfying slow burn that will have you swooning for your very own Hartley twin.

Cooper, you lovable idiot.
That was my main thought while reading Good Girl Complex. I LOVED Mac and Cooper’s relationship. There’s nothing like seeing two stubborn people in love — for better or for worse!
I just wanted a bit more Evan… Like there’s so much to uncover there… yes innuendo implied.
But hopefully that’s a sign of more books to come because I KNOW Elle Kennedy is a master at crafting series that we obsess over. I’m still recovering after binge-reading the Off-Campus and Briar U series.

Good Girl Complex gave me exactly what I wanted and more. Although at times the book is predictable and partly stereotypical, I throughly enjoyed this romance with just enough spice to keep you turning the page. Mackenzie and Cooper are both very easy characters to love and you cannot help but sit there and smile into your book as their story unfolds. The dual POV added a lot to the story as instead of hiding Cooper's secret from the readers, we knew from the get-go that this was something that would build in the background and blow up eventually. Elle Kennedy kept us all on our toes waiting for the expected heartbreaking climax whilst making us fall in love with these two main characters.

I think Elle Kennedy hit jackpot with Good Girl Complex, and hope others will fall in love with Mac and Cooper in Avalon Bay just like I did.

This is a good romance filled with drama and just enough spice to keep you entertained.

It’s your typical revenge based storyline - guy kicks off in a bar, wants revenge on said guy and gets this by seducing his girlfriend…

Wasn’t a big fan of the premise and the cheating implications, but I did enjoy Cooper and Mac’s love story.

It’s fun, fast paced and there’s a beautiful puppy called Daisy who has to be the star of the show.

It’s a super quick summer read that would go down well with fans of Emily Henry and Christina Lauren.
