I heard great things about this book when it was released but sadly I just didn't like the characters and found myself not wanting to finish the book. Sadly just not for me

I really enjoyed this book! It was such an easy read that is very feel good. I loved how authentic the characters felt and how the author built the connection between the two of them! Would definitely recommend this sapphic romance!

It was fun, with great characters who were complex and made you become very quickly invested.

The book was so page turning I didn’t want it to end.

What I loved most was the authenticity of the characters and their relationships. Blake crafts a beautiful story that explores love, identity, and the complexities of family. Okay, this was a wild one.
I think overall, it wasn’t a bad book but it also wasn’t a good book.

The main characters are boring and pretty unlikeable - like I wouldn’t wanna be friends with either of them honestly. The romance was very insta lust and the sex wasn’t written in an appealing way for me because it focused on lust rather than feelings. I just didn’t find this group of friends very believable and if you can’t talk to your best friends of almost a decade about their bad choices maybe you need new friends?

I did enjoy that it focused on the fact she was bullied and the grief aspects and single mothers where the kid actually featured quite a bit. I just think it could have been a lot better! I probably wouldn’t continue the series though which makes me sad!

I loved reading this, it was such a fun, humorous, and riveting romance. I really liked Delilah and her no nonsense attitude towards those around her and I found her family situation really compelling (so I'm glad we got something of a resolution about that towards the end of the novel). Claire was sweet and kind, and it was easy to see how much she cared about her daughter, who was also pretty endearing. Ashely Herring Blake did a great job of describing the build up and growing attraction between the two women, and I was pleased that they discussed their shared history and didn't just sweep it to one side. Overall, a great romance!

Oh my. This romance had pretty much everything you could wish for and it was all done perfectly. I'm just over the moon that the author is writing a sequel for Astrid!

Delilah Green grew up in a small town with her stepmother Isabelle and stepsister Astrid. Painfully aware that she doesn't really belong with them in that small town, she moves to New York City and slowly starts making her way towards becoming a photography artist. She has no intention of ever going back. But then Astrid is getting married and her stepmother is willing to pay for Delilah's services as wedding photographer. It's an offer a starving artist can't really refuse. Returning home not also means having to deal with Astrid and Isabelle, it also means running into one of Astrid's best friends since childhood, Claire, who is juggling parenting a preteen with her duties as maid of honor and her ex Josh who keeps popping back up. Despite what happened in the past, Delilah and Claire hit it off, finding something with the other person that was missing. But with many obstacles in the way, and coming up with a secret plan to stop Astrid from getting married, Delilah and Claire are in for a chaotic few weeks that will upend their entire lives.

So, a small-town sapphic romance between a lesbian artist and a bisexual single mother, with nosey best friends and an annoying stepsister on the sideline, and old hurts that start to get healed somewhat. What more could you want? This romance was just perfect. Delilah and Claire are complex characters and the author found the right balance between them working out the relationship issues together and each of them also working through stuff from their past. The way Delilah's relationship with her stepsister changes throughout this book was just magnificently done. I was so worried, because I really wanted to love this book, but it ended up massively exceeding my expectations. I had read some YA by Ashley Herring Blake, but I'm now fully on the adult romance bandwagon. As long as she keeps writing them, I'll keep reading them.

I adored this books. From the very beginning I had a feeling it would be a 5 star read and then I just couldn't put it down. I loved both of the main characters and felt they were both established very well so that they felt like fully realised people, neither of them relegated to simply being "the love interest". The concept and set up separate to the romance was also well established so that you were entertained throughout rather than just waiting for Claire and Delilah to act on their feelings. I am very excited that we will be getting further books in this series as I can't wait to be back in this world and to follow Astrid and then Iris to see what they get up to too.

always loved a good sapphic novel! it was fresh, so funny and so good to read this one!

I’ll give four stars because I’m optimistic but my e-arc ran out before I managed to read it. I will pick it up soon when I’m in the mood,

A fun and enjoyable to read. I loved the LGBTQ+ rep in this book, and the diverse characters. Only thing I disliked was that I felt it was trying to fit too many varying storylines in, and it got a bit muddled.

I absolutely adored this book, what a perfect queer rom-com!
The characters were well fleshed out and believable, and the writing made me smile and laugh more than I ever usually do reading romance novels!

Well paced and funny, I could see the ending a mile off but still felt fully satisfied when we got there.

Can't wait for book 2!

OH. MY. GOD.

Bold statement, but I think this might just be my new favourite romance book… I need to get a physical copy of this book ASAP so that I can reread it and annotate the crap out of it! It contained everything that I strive for when picking up a romance; dual POV, small town, one bed trope, grumpy/sunshine, SAPPHIC… Ahhhh it couldn’t have been more perfect! My new comfort book for sure!

In this book we follow Delilah Green, a photographer who moved to New York to escape her tough family life in Bright Falls, but when her estranged step sister, Astrid, asks Delilah to photograph her wedding, Delilah starts to develop feelings for Claire, a single mum and Astrid’s best friend.

Everything about this novel was perfect. It was so well written and the characters were so diverse in their sexuality and gender. I fell in love with everyone and found myself wishing to be in their friend group. I related to Delilah incredibly and her and Claire’s chemistry jumped right off of the page, making me laugh and fangirl ever so slightly.

Although this is a romance at its core, it is also about reconnecting with family and finding friends. It was so lovely seeing the relationships between Delilah and Astrid’s friends blossom, I found myself rooting for the friendships just as much as the romance and the relationship between Delilah, and Claire’s daughter, Ruby, warmed my heart like nothing else.

Ashley Herring Blake is such an incredible writer and I am so excited for the next book in this little series!

(Also, before reading this book I never really understood people who had “book boyfriends” because I had never connected to a character that much, but after reading this I completely understand because Delilah Green is now my book girlfriend 😂)

This book is easily going to be one of my favourite romance books of the year. The characters were well-developed and there were parts that made me laugh out loud!

I love a book with a complicated sister relationship. And Astrid's relationship with Claire's daughter Ruby also melted my heart.

The romance is a slower burn but I actually preferred that. If you're looking for a sapphic adult romance with moderate steam then I would recommend this one!

Delilah Green Doesn't Care is a romcom not like any other. It is even better than everything I've read out there. It's filled with incredibly layered characters, the main characters, of course, but also the secondary and even the very small guest appearances. It all felt like a really place, a real story and it was amazing and left me wanting more. It was just so beautifully crafted, I could see myself there, amongst them. And I would honestly read any story related to any of those characters.
The pacing and plot felt so well woven. I was enthralled from beginning to end.
Basically, this was an amazing introduction to a very promising series and Ashley Herring Blake signs a flawless, captivating book here.

Unfortunately the Arc was archived prior to me being able to read it. I am still very excited to read this book based on everything I've heard about it!

With tropes like only one bed, a small town setting and laugh-out-loud wedding shenanigans, I knew Delilah Green Doesn’t Care would check many of my boxes, but I was still surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Delilah and Claire had incredible chemistry, and both characters were so well developed. Delilah is confident, ambitious and comes off as aloof when she actually deeply cares about other people. Claire is so sweet and caring and just such a lovely character. I immediately fell for both and adored the way their love story unfolded. Delilah‘s painful memories from her childhood where she felt like a burden to her stepfamily and Claire‘s struggles of being a single-mom to a teenager daughter gave the novel some depth and also some delicious angst - we love to see it! I also really like the way Delilah‘s relationship with her stepsister Astrid was developed, and can’t wait to read the next book in the series which follows Astrid!

Ashley Herring Blake’s Adult debut delivers on all fronts: sexy, funny, vulnerable, entertaining and swoon-worthy. Delilah Green Doesn’t Care is my new favorite sapphic rom-com!

this book was added to my tbr the minute it was announced and i was so excited to read it, it was so high up on my tbr for this year!!! it definitely lived up to the hype and oh my god i loved delilah and claire so much - also book 2 has been announced and i cannot wait for that one also!

there isn’t a lot of sapphic books out there, or smutty sapphic books out there and this one was just right!! this book was honestly just perfect, i felt heard with the bi rep too which we love ❤️ need more sapphic books like this

The moment I saw the cover and description for this book I knew I had to read it!

This was a wonderful contemporary queer romance, full of messy millennials and even messier relationships, and I absolutely devoured it!

Definitely recommend DGDC if you enjoy:

-only one bed
-childhood enemies to lovers
-main characters born in or before 1990
-returning to your small hometown after escaping to the big city
-definitely not dating (*oops*)
-bourbon and/or white wine

And I can’t wait to return to Bright Falls later this year for Astrid’s story!
