Unfortunately I think it's a good story but it has been done better. I didn't like Lanie's character and found her quite immature and rude in her reactions. This meant I had no connection with her and found it all just so blah.

I love a romance and this was perfection! This author has quickly become a favourite of mine! A great well written book with great chemistry

This is a perfect rom-com and I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful, slow-burn story that unfolds. It’s full of surprises, funny and emotional with memorable characters who feel completely real!
I love books about books! We get a glimpse behind the curtain of the publishing industry as we follow newly appointed editor Lanie. Books are her passion and she has a special connection to author Noa Calloway who she’s only ever spoken to by email and texts. As the deadline passes for her next new book, will Lanie be able to help with Noa’s writer’s block?
Noa enjoys the anonymity that comes with remaining out of the limelight. Her fans love her and she has eccentric ways that are amusing to learn about. Should she finally step out from behind her hiding place?
Lanie has a surprising encounter with Ross, they need to be a team but misunderstandings get in the way. Their lives become unexpectedly intertwined and there’s a tangible chemistry there, something undefinable between them. I loved their connection, dialogue, teasing and sarcastic dynamic as we get a front row seat to their evolving relationship. It made for an absorbing read and I loved every page!
By Any Other Name is a clever and joyful book offering smiles, laughs and heartfelt moments. I recommend adding to your TBR asap!
With thanks to @NetGalley & @LiitleBrownUK

I absolutely loved this book! The premise immediately hooked my interest and it was filled with complex characters and such an easy, accessible read.

This was a heartfelt and beautiful love story - full of your favourite tropes revisited and refreshed in a brilliantly contemporary way.
Unfortunately my version of this book was formatted poorly and I found it hard to read so I wasn't able to read in full detail - but will definitely try this again.

I really enjoyed this fun, light hearted, enemies to lovers tale! The romance in this book was a little slow to get going but it was definitely there once it did!

'By Any Other Name' was such a fun, light-hearted book and was perfect for a quick read.
From the first chapter, I knew I was going to adore this book. I loved Lanie as a main character and I absolutely loved Noah as the love interest.
I have read a few books with the secret identity trope, but this one felt so fresh and new and even though I knew what was going to happen, I was so hooked on the story and the characters that I just loved reading this book.
I loved that this book centres around books and how Lanie and Noah fall in love through books.
I know this book is marketed as enemies to lovers, but it was not that at all. There was a slight dislike between the characters in the beginning but there were no enemies to lovers at all.
Despite that, I still adored this book. I needed something to get me back into reading romance, and wanted to read something light and fun and this was 100% what I wanted and I loved it.

This book was lovely!! The MC is a romance editor (which is one of my favourite careers to read about) and it really made the book more enjoyable. It was a really easy rom-com, perfect for the summer!

This one was a lovely read. I really enjoyed reading this one. I just love this kind of books.
4 stars read for me

I remember reading Kate's Fallen, the first book in a hugely successful YA series, years ago, so it was interesting to see how her contemporary fiction fared. The plot of this novel sounded like it was written just for me, with its enemies-to-lovers romance and the setting of the publishing world, and I really enjoyed all of it! The playful dynamic of Lanie's curated list being used as the plot point for her and "Noa's" interactions was great, and the fact that they each had their own mystery element of their lives going on worked really well I think, as it definitely propelled me forward through the story as I waited for them to discover the truth about one another. The storyline was surprisingly unlike anything I have read before, and while it was pretty predictable what the outcome would be, I didn't mind in the slightest as I was looking forward to getting to that happily-ever-after! I'm excited to see what Kate writes next.

THIS WAS AMAZING!
Now that I work in publishing, reading a book set in that world excited me and made me laugh out loud when I spotted things I’ve experienced or heard about too. I loved the dynamic between the main characters and how they would squabble but also how they aided one another to grow within themselves. There’s fun escapades, beautiful romantic moments and a host of richly described characters to lose yourself in.

I loved this so much I instantly went out and got a full finished copy. The enemies to lovers aspect of this book was so well written, and I really loved the backdrop of New York.
Any book with books in it will instantly delight me, and I loved that this had a look into the publishing industry.
A super sweet romance I will return to again and again.

It’ll always choose an enemies to lovers book when it’s available. Lauren Kate’s writing never ceases to amaze me. This book was great!

As sweeping and romantic as it promises to be! The subgenre of love stories that are also very much about book and stories always appeals to me, so this was a treat from start to finish. The Emily Henry comparison is very accurate! (and I'll say whether you also enjoyed THE HATING GAME or liked the concept and wanted something more from it, this may be a good one to pick up instead!)

A nice read, a lovely comedy romance book, but perhaps didn't grab me as much as it could have. I could see this as a movie. It was a predictable plot, but in a lovely, comforting way.

There is nothing I love more than books within books. By Any Other Name is beautifully written with incredible characters. I breezed through it, and I had a smile on my face through every page—definitely one of my favourites of the year.

I flew through this story it was so good! Such an easy reading delicious slow burn romance that hit me in the feels. I loved the whole idea around it I mean who doesnt love books about books and writers and all things that come with it. I haven't read anything by Lauren Kate since her Fallen series and I really hope she's going to do more books like this one. I couldn't put it down

Cute perfect for a rainy day and I would recommend! Thank you to netgally and the publisher for allowing me early access to this title!

A great romance novel for bookworms looking for a light-hearted love story.
This was the first adult book I have read by Lauren Kate and I am pleased to say that I was not disappointed! By Any Other Name is a light, easy read. The characters are well developed and extremely loveable and the story is paced very well. I felt invested in the characters and their journey throughout the entire book and loved the bookish theme of the story.
Overall a very pleasurable reading experience.

This is a amazing smart rom com you love. With plenty of humour and I loved every page such a joy to read. Brilliant characters with plenty of chemistry and energy you love as well. Loved every page x
