Absolutely fantastic!!!!! This book blew me away, amazing storyline, phenomenal characters.... I was not expecting this book to absolutely amaze me. I'm not sure if it was the intrigue, sexy HOT Russian, or the steamy scenes written so well... and WOW, these scenes were not smut but written perfectly.

Hot, hot, hot! I love a good mafia/mercenary romance. This one had all the steam and more. I will definitely be picking up more books by this author in the future. Thank you Netgalley for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I wasn't sure what to think when I first started this book Princess Sofia is unlike any princess I've ever encountered in a book and I loved it. From the opening scenes in the night club to an ending that can only be described as explosive I loved every moment of this book.
I can't imagine living the sheltered life of a Princess and seeing something as horrific as murder and then deciding to do something about it, at 16 Sofia really was still a kid but she knew right from wrong and her lavish lifestyle didn't keep her from making decisions that would help countless people in the future.
Viktor is the ultimate counterpart to Sofia, just bad enough that he wouldn't approve but not bad enough that he was a bad guy, I could almost see the smoulder in his gaze when the author describes him staring at Sofia in that nightclub in the first chapter.
Now normally I'd be worried about a princess playing at being a mercenary but Sofia is the real deal, an d with Jen by her side in all of this she's pretty unstoppable and I for one hope there are a lot more of these books, I'd like to see more with her friends, and more of the relationship with her family but in a way I think that would have taken away from what this is, a wonderful book full of action and adventure, twists and turns, and of course a romance to stop time.
I for one will be reading everything I can get my hands on by this author.

Viktor Petrovich Popov has been Sophia's obsession for almost 10 years. He is a Russian billionaire with ties to the Bratva. And she is the crown princess of a small country. But she is not only a princess. Because she has a life on the side. And involving herself with Viktor could be the worst of the ideas.
Well, I don't really know...I liked the part concerning Sophia and Viktor. But I found her double life quite unbelievable. The book is a little bit slow so there were moments when I disconnected from the story.

This book was different from any other princess romance book that I've read. Princess by day and mercenary by night, this mc can handle herself. The Russian billionaire, who she's been obsessed with for eight years, shows up in her hotel room one night. He stakes a claim on her immediately.

This book is told from 3rd person pov, which is not the norm for spicy romance books. I found that I liked 3rd person pov. with this particular book.

Pretty much the same old story with a fierce heroine and lots of unbelievable twists for me .
I enjoyed it in parts but unfortunately I can’t say it’s something that I am looking forward to read more .

Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy

This was a new author for me so I was excited to dive in, and although I am extremely anti-blurb reading (I like to be surprised), I actually did read this when I saw it on netgalley, and it was part of why I wanted to read it.

Sophia is a princess who is being forced to marry by her brother, the King of Porenza. She has bigger things to worry about though, like the corrupt and bad guys she is working on taking down with her group of friends. Viktor is a Russian billionaire that Sophia has had a crush on for awhile but who she would never actually be allowed to be with given her standing in society. Her secret mission ends up putting them in the path of each other and although their chemistry is definitely off the charts, nothing about their relationship is easy.

Overall I did find this story interesting and engaging, and I am glad I read it, however, I did think the beginning was a little slow and I thought the ending was a little abrupt and needed to be developed a little further. I also would have liked to see a little more actual relationship between Viktor and Sophia even though their time together was short. It all felt solely physical, and while that aspect was amazing, and Viktor's alpha side was hot, I would have liked to see a little more from them. I would probably continue the series to see how the next book plays out.

At first I found it difficult to get into this book. I felt like I was dragging myself through it in hopes that it would pick up. Worried that my curiosity was going to get the better of me because I was extremely intrigued by the premise of Princess by day, Mercenary by night. Fortunately, by about 25% through, things started to heat up (literally, and figuratively). I mean, who doesn’t love an angsty, mortally-grey love interest? After that I was excited to get to pick up this book every day.

I give a rating of 3.5 because I loved the out-of-the-box double life scenario (and Viktor deserves 5 for just being himself), but I still dragged myself through the first quarter of the book. I found the way Sophia spoke and her inner-monologue difficult to follow. The Russian is definitely who made this book for me, and why I kept coming back for more.

When one is at a tender age and witnesses such a traumatic event such as one being murdered, I think most of us would not handle it well. But not only did Sophia and her friends handle it okay, they became mercenaries.
This definitely was different from most other books I have read where the heroine is a mercenary, yet is also a woman who has imagined what a night would be like with her fantasy man, Viktor.
This book held my attention from beginning to end and was an excellent start to not only a new series, but also a new author for me.

Wow! wow! What a surprise and in a totally satisfying way. This book has everything the romantic suspense reader looks for; strong female, alpha male, and a happy ending with hopes of a book 2. I will look forward to the next book published by this gifted author.

A big bad Russian with a soft spot for the princess. This story was sold before the ink had the chance to dry.

It has everything you could wish for, the big bad mafia that has a soft spot for our princess, who in turn have pines for years. The secrecy, the demand that their relationship could not become more and never brought to light.

And of course, it has the happy ending we all so desperately crave.

I enjoy this book, easy read with the right amount of steamy romance. And boy was it steamy. I think that I actually blushed, which hasn’t happened in a long time.

A crown princess living a dangerous double life and a sinfully sexy Russian billionaire with a ruthless penchant for collecting secrets: a match set for disaster.

For years, one man has ruled Sophia’s fantasies. The harmless obsession keeps her warm on the nights her double life starts to take its toll. She, unfortunately, gains his attention at the worst possible moment, when she’s in the middle of a dangerous job. Now, she’ll be forced to protect her heart along with her life of lies.

Viktor has been tempted by the innocent princess’s lust-filled glances for far too long, and he has fought hard to resist her beauty. When her secrets finally draw him in, getting through her royal guard proves a minor inconvenience. But one sexually charged night isn’t enough. He wants more, including whatever she’s hiding beneath that demure façade.

As much as Sophia wants Viktor, she can never fully allow him in because her secrets aren’t her own. Viktor is determined to have all of his princess. Will they find a way to be together, or will her dangerous secrets tear them apart?

I wanted to like this book so so so much. A princess who wants to rid the world of evil one scheme at a time with a forbidden romance to boot? What could be better than that? I loved the premise of the book but the execution did not life up to the standards I put it to in my head. The biggest issue I had was the pacing. It felt like the author had a timer on their hands and was only given a few pages to get what they wanted out so they just listed everything they thought of and went with it. Within the first few chapters the reader is introduced to so many characters with very little information and I don't know how many times I had to flip back and forth to remind myself who was who and why they are a part of the story. As anticipated, it was heavy on the sex stuff and light on the substance stuff. I guess I'm not surprised but I had hoped for more.

Hot hot hot, when one Russian catches 1 princess scaling a wall one night it spikes his interest. Especially when it’s a beautiful princess. Sofia has lusted after Vicktor for years. But when she comes back from a mission and finds him in her room with questions that she can’t answer, then distraction is called for but whose distracting who?

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

This was a really fun read with a lot of action and suspense and the thrill of a forbidden love story. The main characters are likeable and electric (though I wanted some of the minor characters to be fleshed out more, perhaps in a sequel!). I was turning the pages quickly with this one as I couldn't put it down!

DNF at 25% I was hoping it would be as fast paced and steamy as Mrs Jays other series but it didn’t quite get there

Phew 🥵🥵🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
I need to get myself a Russian!

I got Alais/Mafia meets 50 shades (but a million times better) vibes!

The spice did not take away from the plot and i loved how all the little details fell into place.
The characters had enough back ground information to make them interesting, I hope we get to see more Jen and Ivan.

Special thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for a free, electronic ARC of this novel received in exchange for an honest review

4/5 stars
3.5/5 spice

Came for the spice and stayed for the plot!

I really really enjoyed this book. It was a quick and easy read which I binged in a day and I think that anyone looking for that dark, almost mafia romance will enjoy this book

The book just fell short of that five stars for me but it by no means is a reason to not ready this book!

First little irk— Would I call Sofia a mercenary? No probably not, more like a spy…? This little factor doesn’t come into play very much but it was brought up enough that I think it needs to be mentioned.

Second irk — the story line was a little predictable, but it was such an enjoyable read that I wasn’t bothered by it all that much.

On the other hand, the things I loved about this book!

I loved the chemistry and the passion between Viktor and Sofia. They were a great couple who bounced off each other well. I loved the forbidden romance side and how that served to play such an intense dynamic between the two of them.

In addition, the surrounding characters we’re all incredibly interesting. Their part in the story weaves in an out with Sofia mainly, but their roles seemed to suggest big things for later in the series.

With that being said, I can see the natural progression that the series is going to take and I’m so excited to read more in future.
