This is a hard one to rate . For me the story sounded like many of the books already out there. It would have been aided by being shorter as to not drag it out. I also feel if this was an audio book ot would get another star because I can see potential and sometimes that's enhanced by a good narrator or two.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the first in a series. I found the title misleading, she is not mercenary. I actually really enjoyed the book. Is it realistic? Probably not but who cares. It is nice to think that maybe rich spoiled people do care about things. The chemistry between Sophia and Viktor was off the charts. Sigh, we all want that kind of chemistry. Her family is horrible, just saying. Luckily she has amazing friends. I loved her bodyguard Jen as well. Strong female role models, such fun. 4 stars I would highly recommend this book.

Honestly even without the racy sexual side of this story, it would still be an intriguing premise and idea that the author is writing about. Definitely not for under the age of eighteen ;)
The sexual scenes do not detract from the overall plot or overwhelm which can be hard not to do in this type of genre. These scenes are fun, slightly unrealistic but written very well and the reader can't help but enjoy them.
One story aspect that I would love to read more about besides the rest of the series that I am eagerly looking forward too is a prequel about the start of the group/business that the readers are immediately introduced too by the protagonist. The idea of these rich girls becoming essentially vigilantes against this list of evil people and what they decided to do about it is such an intriguing concept.
This is a fun, sexy romp with some deep undertones and it just flies by and leaves you with a little tease of the future books that makes you want more.

Mercenary princess by Setta Jay.
Mercenary Socialites Book 1.
For years, one man has ruled Sophia’s fantasies. The harmless obsession keeps her warm on the nights her double life starts to take its toll. She, unfortunately, gains his attention at the worst possible moment, when she’s in the middle of a dangerous job. Now, she’ll be forced to protect her heart along with her life of lies.
Viktor has been tempted by the innocent princess’s lust-filled glances for far too long, and he has fought hard to resist her beauty. When her secrets finally draw him in, getting through her royal guard proves a minor inconvenience. But one sexually charged night isn’t enough. He wants more, including whatever she’s hiding beneath that demure façade.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Love this author. Great story and characters. 5*.
