Lovely illustrations in this story and I like how there are also facts alongside it. Eva's grandad is a lighthouse keeper and as you are reading you find out so much about the workings of a lighthouse, their jobs, as well as some scientific facts. Gorgeous book.

A lovely, cute and vibrant book with a sweet story to tell. Beautiful illustrations in the pages with a sweet and lovelable story to tell, the fact and fiction mixes very well, enjoyed it!

I received this copy of the free ARC in return for my review.

This is a nice mix of information and story that looks at both life in a lighthouse and key details about them. I felt the illustrations worked well, conveying enough detail without losing the feel of a picture book. There are some particularly lovely spreads invoking the feel of both stormy weather and life inside the lighthouse. I also really liked the picture book within a picture book around the story of Grace Darling. There is enough factual detail for young readers to learn more about lighthouses and take it further if they want to, and the story, while very simple, worked quite well.

A Lighthouse Story is a beautiful story about a little girl called Eva and her adventures at her Grandad's lighthouse. The illustrations are simply beautiful. I love all the information about lighthouses and the list of all the famous ones in the world. I think this book is brilliant and can't wait to share it with the children. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

An absolutely cracking little book, I loved Eva story of her visiting her granddad at the lighthouse and him showing her how that light house works. I really enjoyed that the author included famous lighthouses around the world.

This is an absolutely delightful, and beautifully illustrated, children's book about Eva's trip to stay with her Grandad on the island where he lives and works in the lighthouse. A mix of fact and fiction make this a lovely book to share. The illustrations are bright and cheerful with lots of careful details to pore over. This is a book about lighthouses, but also about the lovely relationship and bond between a granddad and his granddaughter.

For all future Grace Darlings, this dresses up a lesson about lighthouses as a semi-narrative piece, with a girl visiting her grandfather who is, of course, a lighthousekeeper. You can't really pretend there is a story here, but in knowing there are different colours of lighthouse, that the building is packed with rooms one above the other, and how Ms Darling became such a famous heroine, you can see the appeal of them as a subject. Oh, and you also learn how electrification and remote control kind of wipes out any of the romanticism the artwork gives to the topic.

I like the colour palette and the illustrations of this beautiful book. It was fun to learn about lighthouses with this cute story of the relationship between a girl and her grandfather. Lovely!

An absolutely delightful story with the most vibrant and charming illustrations! I think we all are desperate to move to our own lighthouses now! (And I loved the detail of the cat throughout, too! Children will be totally absorbed).

This was a privilege to read early, and I would like to thank NetGalley and Bloomsbury for the honour!
