This is an amazing love story. I love an enemies to lovers story and it's my favourite trope. I haven't read any of the authors previous books but I fell in love with these two amazing characters. Deirdra and Jagger are complete opposites and at first I couldn't see how this would develop but it all happened perfectly.

This is the 3rd book in the series and can be read as a stand alone. This is Deirdra Messieres's story. She is the sister of Abby and Cait and has come home to Silver Island. She is an uptight Boston attorney that was passed up for promotion. She feels she will make them miss her at work and they will realize their mistake. Trouble is she does not know what to do with two months off. Abby is getting married and Cait just became engaged. Jagger is a free spirited laid back musician/chef with his dog dolly who lives in an RV who is interested in Deirdrade but she does not have time for as she calls him the "hippy". This was a great opposites attract story. It was nice to see Deirdra come to the realization about her life and her relationships. Highly recommend.

Received this book for my honest review from Netgalley.

Maybe We Won't (Silver Harbor, #3) by Melissa Foster
This the 3rd book in this series and it's Deirdra's (DiDi, Dee) and Jagger's (Josiah) story. She can't get over the hurt of having to take care of her mother's drinking problem and her younger sister after her father died. Jagger seems to be a carefree hippy with no strings to his life - just him and his dog Dolly. She is a hard working attorney climbing the ladder. We have so many old friends on the island and it's great catching up with them. I laughed and cried (ugly and happy tears-lots of them). There is angst, resentment, anger, discovery, forgiveness, falling in love and plenty of steam to get us to their HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read Entertaining Funny Happily Ever After Informative Page-turner Romantic Steamy Tear-jerker Unpredictable Wonderful characters

Maybe We Won’t is book #3 of the Silver Harbor contemporary romance series.

This is the story of Deirdre, sister to Abby and Cait. Full of anger after being over-looked for a promotion at work, Deirdre has come to Silver Island for a break. Anger and attitude emit from her like steam from a hot pie, but Jagger Jones, the casual hippy chef at Abby’s bistro, can see beyond Deirdre’s harsh persona.

Jagger was friends with Ava, the girls mother. He understands some of what their childhood spent looking after an alcoholic mother was like. He’s determined to show Deidre how she can release her emotions and set herself free of all the built up hurt.

This is a lovely ‘opposites attract’ story which weaves it way through the book. But beneath the surface thread there is much more to this novel. There’s a serious side which involves autism and another theme about sourcing organic food from farm-to-table; both of these added depth and interest to this book.

I really enjoyed this, the characters invited you in to be with them and the escapism reading worked it’s magic on me.

𝗠𝗔𝗬𝗕𝗘 𝗪𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗡’𝗧 is a painfully beautiful romance read. It’s raw, real, intense, gut wrenching, sweet, sexy and honest. Like standing under a torrential downpour, feeling every drop of rain and gust of wind, knowing that when it passes and you open your eyes, there will be a rainbow flitting across the sky.

That’s how I felt reading Deidra and Jagger’s story. I felt everything like I was there and couldn’t get enough of their special kind of chemistry. At twenty five, Jagger has a maturity and sense of awareness most people twice his age don’t possess. He lives life to the fullest and his openness and good nature exude from his every pore. Deidra on the other hand, is a beautiful ball of contradictions. She is as serious as a heartache and barreling down the road towards one at full throttle. But she is so much more than the polished, brass lawyer that she has become. I wanted to reach into my kindle and love on her because her pain was so deep, that I needed to find comfort for me, for her.

Whether it was fate or good fortune, Jagger strummed his way into her world and with his soulful words, knowing eyes and loving pooch, worked his magic and brought her home. It was one helluva ride. Watching Deidra loosen up and allow herself to move on with Jagger by her side, made this book the unputdownable, read in one sitting romance that it is. I couldn’t read it fast enough and wish it went on some more because the world could use some more of their special kind of love.

I’m giving 𝗠𝗔𝗬𝗕𝗘 𝗪𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗡’𝗧 the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval and highly recommend you read the rest of the series because - There is something incredibly special about Melissa Foster’s Silver Harbor series and with each book, I lose myself in this magical place and never want to leave its shores - And I want that for you too. TBR and Enjoy.

I have been looking forward to Diedra’s and Jaggers story since the first book. Their chemistry was palpable just from a brief encounter. Could two people seem more at odds than them? Honestly, no. But this is what captivates the reader, and gives an invitation into the book because their stories consume you. Now all I need are more Silver Island books because I miss the Steele’s, Remington’s, and Silver’s already!

Heartwarming, sweet and lovely. A touching story with layers.

Maybe We Won't by Melissa Foster is an opposites attract story. Deirdra de Messieres and Jagger Jones are true opposites. Deirdra is a workaholic lawyer who avoids returning to visit family and friends in Silver Harbor due to bad memories dealing with her deceased mother who turned to alcohol after the death of her husband, Deirdra's father. Jagger is a modern day hippie musician/chef. He lives his life traveling wherever he desires and taking on temporary jobs to support himself. I would never have seen these two together when I first met them in earlier books in the Silver Harbor series. Usually I love the couples this author writes about. In this case I didn't connect like I usually do. This is a super sexy, emotional story and while I enjoyed reading this book and I liked it, I can't say it is one of my favorite Melissa Foster books.

I usually love all of Melissa Foster's books but this one was a bit of disappointment for me. I found it really difficult to buy into Deirdra, a corporate attorney from Boston and Jagger, a roaming musician/chef. The book had some really slow passages that I fought to get through. It is always great to catch up with many of Melissa Foster's characters from her previous books but this book just didn't click for me.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own
