This book brought me so many feels and emotions. I’m going to have to go back and read the others that I missed if they’re even half as good as this one was. Absolutely amazing and I didn’t want to put it down or for it to end. Read it!

This is only my second book by Melissa Foster but I need to read more stat! This author knows how to hook the reader and make you care for her characters.
Deidra takes a 2 month hiatus from her stressful, overwhelming job just to prove to her boss how much she is needed. She goes home to see her sisters but can't wait to leave. Her childhood home just has too many bad memories and she's not afraid to pick up and go whenever things get too much. Not to mention the fact that she keeps running into Jagger who is a nomad that lives in his car with his dog. So what if he's just too damn hot and she accidentally walked in on him naked. Interested yet? I thought so. Go read it.

Dierdra and Jagger.. loved their story and connection. Loved watching Dierdra let her work life go and learn to follow her heart. Such a great read!

This was such an emotional story but so well written. Deirdra is a workaholic attorney who visits her sisters sometimes on Silver Island but has such unhappy memories from her childhood she looks forward to leaving. When she suddenly takes a sabbatical from her job to show her boss that he truly needs her in the office she shocks her sisters. Jagger is a hippie type person who likes the simpler things in life but there is a great reason for that. However that is something that puzzles Deirdra as security & having a solid plan is something she needs to have. I loved how he was with his brother as well as seeing the others on the island. Melissa always delivers a heartwarming story and this one truly does tug on your heartstrings.

Deirdra and Jagger are my favourite in the Silver Harbor Series. They are the Ying to each other’s Yang. They balance out each other in so many ways. It was great to see the relationship between Deirdra and her sisters bloom. For Deirdra andJagger to look pass their exterior and truly see and find each other and themselves.
A definite 5 star read.

"Mm-hm. That's where my buttoned-up girl became my starry-eyed lover."

⏤ 5 Maple Leafs ⏤

An emotional roller coaster that pulls you in right from the first page and wraps around your heart.

Deirdra is a workaholic who barely makes time to enjoy things outside the workplace. Jagger has had eyes for Deidra for a while and when she takes a hiatus from work, he makes it his mission to help her combat her ghosts and find the person she lost years prior.

Jagger was so much more than I imagined and he stole my heart. I love how he helps Deidra remember who she once was and the dreams she had. It was awesome to see Deidra finally let go and be herself. The connection between Jagger and Deidra is so much more than just chemistry.

I loved this book right from the very first page but also did struggle due to personal triggers. As a mom with two autistic boys, Jagger absolutely warmed my heart with his interactions with his brother.

Maybe We Won't / Silver Harbor 3 contains... small town, opposites attract, musician, lawyer, big family, dual third-person point of view.

This is the third book in the Silver Harbor series but all three could be read as standalones.

Having already seen her sisters Abbie and Cait fall in love Deidra 'Didi' de Messiéres is still a workaholic. When she gets passed over for promotion and takes a 2 month's hiatus she finally realises there's more to life than work. Deidra sees how much she has been missing out on with her sisters and her friends. She realises she wants to be more involved in their lives. It was really lovely to see Deidra want to spend more time with her family.

Jagger aka Hippie has had his eye on Deidra since they first met but Didi is not interested in someone so laid back and without a plan. I loved seeing Didi and Jagger open up to each other. For Didi to realise how much she actually likes Jagger despite how different their outlook on life is.

This is a story about letting go of the hurt and the anger, about healing and enjoying life with the people you love. If you're looking for a story set on a beautiful island with lots of romantic moments then this book is definitely for you.

Thank you to Montlake for my copy of this book via Netgalley.

I did not finish this book. I've read others by Melissa Foster, including ones about the other sisters in this book, but this one I could not get past the opening chapters. The main character was unlikable, and I wasn't particularly interested in how she and the set up guy were going to get together. It all seemed very contrived and a bit far fetched.

Jagger is easy-going, happy-go-lucky, and a friend to many. Quite the contrast to the stand-offish lawyer of the de Messiéres family. Deirdra might be a tad bit uptight, maybe even a touch snobbish, but it doesn’t take too long being around Jagger to start her taking a long, hard look at the person she’d become. She’s let her resentment and the bad memories of her childhood on the island color her view of it, the people who live their, and even her own sisters. Once she’s gotten a good look at her life, she’s not really sure she likes it all that much after all.

As Jagger helps Deirdra face her past and the two become closer, she starts to uncover a part of herself she’s buried deep. But can she let go of her trauma enough to really embrace the person she could be? Even though the story pretty much goes exactly as you’d expect it to, Maybe We Won’t is still a thoroughly enjoyable read. Foster can always be counted on to bring readers stories of heat mixed with humor and a more than generous amount of emotion and her latest shows exactly how well she does it.

Ms. Foster never disappoints me. I feel so lucky and that I got introduced to her books. Whenever I’m in a slump I just re-read one of my fav books written by her. So unknowingly and casually the bar has been raised and my god if this book didn’t meet all of them but I also ticked off of all my tropes too. This was a very angsty and quite an enjoyable read for me! Just Loved it

Boston attorney Deirdra de Messiéres and free spirited Josiah “Jagger” Jones could not be more opposite if they tried, but as she spends more time with him and slowly lets down her guard she realises there is more to life than being a workaholic.
After being passed over for a promotion Deirdra decides to take a hiatus and prove to her boss just how valuable she really is, though when he actually encourages her time off she is slightly miffed to say the least and being back on Silver Island isn't really helping her with the memories of her mother and growing up.
Jagger is so laid back and care free that is makes it his mission to get Deirdra to get out of her comfort zone and let her guard down. Their connection is on fire and they are so cute together, I loved seeing her walls being chipped away.

It was great to back on Silver Island, it is definitely a place I would love to live, the whole place just seems like such a cute little family focused place to live. Melissa brings all these characters to  live and also weaves into the story real life situation with poise and respect.

Another 5 star read.

This book is the the 3rd book in the Silver Harbor Series. It follows 3 sister: Abby, Caitlyn and Deirdre. This book focus on Deirdre who is an attorney at law, who objective in life is to focus on her works. This lead to her neglecting her family and missing out on social life. However, when she missed out a promotion which clearly she feel she is entitled to, she took a long leave of absence and return back to Silver Harbor, a place that holds many of her painful memories. She met Jagger, a drifter who claimed to know her mother.

I love reading about Deirdre finding her true self and finally is able to learn to put down her baggage that she has been carrying. Love Jagger for what he have been doing with his autistic brother and the plan that he is doing with his family despite his care free lifestyle. This character make me realise that we should learn to look beyond what is on the surface and not to judge people without getting to learn who the person’s true self is.

This is book three in the Silver Harbor series, but as any Melissa Foster reader knows, her books all interlink and are so much the richer for it. I am a huge fan, and greatly enjoy feeling like I am meeting up with old friends on a regular basis through these books!

So far, two of the sisters have had their story and found their happily ever after, but Deirdra left the island as soon as she could, and really hates even making a short visit. However, passed over for a promotion she felt she deserved, she decides to show the law firm she works for that they need her, and takes a two-month sabbatical. Inevitably, she goes to visit her sisters and decides she will have to cope with island life until work calls her back in desperation.

So begins a truly wonderful love story, full of elements which have been building over the previous books – she is the only one not to have yet opened the letter left for her by her mother before she died. She also spends time visiting with the women who took on the role of mothers to her when her own checked out after the death of her father. She finally takes the time to look back from the viewpoint of an adult, not a child who had to behave like the adult. As this happens to us at the same time, it is hugely moving and very powerful.

And all the time there is the niggling feeling that hippy chef Jagger is getting under her skin. His complete opposite way of life to hers annoys her, his chilled manner, his interest in her, his attempts to make her happy... she just doesn't get it and it causes her to feel, something she avoids as much as possible.

I had thought that Cait's story must be the saddest, but actually Deirdra's was more so because having to grow up so young and never get to process her own losses, made her less able to cope with anything good. Jagger, through his knowledge of her mum, and her finally reading her letter, makes for some tissue-needing moments, but they are all so worth it for the new Deirdra happiness that follows.

Another beautiful, moving, and delicious love story, thank you, Melissa Foster!

I couldn't wait for Deirdra's story, she was the one who had to raise her little sister, Abbie, when their mom fell apart after their dad died. Being the workaholic attorney from Boston who got passed over for a promotion she deserved, Deirdra decided it was time to take some time off. Maybe travel and let her company see that they made a mistake and will want her to take the job she deserves.

When she gets to Silver Island (the place I live in, in my mind) and meets Jagger, she doesn't realize that he is the one person who can derail her plans, mind, and heart.

I loved the way Jagger pushed Deirdra just a little out of her comfort zone and the way they bantered with each other. They were the perfect couple and it made for the perfect story for Deirdra.

As with any of this author's stories, they are intertwined in some way and you can read them as standalones or all together. It really doesn't matter, you will love them all. This author is an automatic yes for me when a new one pops up on the review list, and I am ready for another when I finish this one. So I hope you enjoy this one as much as I loved it.

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆
M/F Romance
Triggers: Talk about alcoholic parents.

This is Didi's story. You've seen her sisters both find happiness, but Didi has always held back. The protector of her sister, Abby, Didi had to grow up very young. When her dad died, something broke in her mom too and her mom never recovered. Now, as an adult, Didi has learned to always rely on herself and never let a man break her. She has seen firsthand what that can do to a person.

When Didi is in need of a break, she heads to her sisters. Now that her sister Cait is on the island too, it's always a family reunion when Didi goes back. But the island makes Didi itchy and while she knows why, it still makes her mad that she can't just enjoy it.

Jagger is the local who is easy going and never needs a plan. He's known as the local hippie and wears that badge proudly. He works when he needs to and can leave at a moment's notice. But underneath that exterior, Jagger has a life that most don't know about. With a brother who is on the autism spectrum, Jagger wants to make sure that he's always reachable for his brother. His family has worked hard to help his younger brother feel accepted. Also, while Jagger might be the resident hippie now, he wasn't always that way. He sees a little of himself – his old self – in Didi and wants to help her break those chains. Jagger also knows that deep pain that Didi's mom caused, since he was a friend of Didi's mom before she passed.

At points, this story was a little drawn out and long. But at the heart of this story is love that not most find. It's a kind of love that consumes the pages and the reader. You will fall in love with Didi and Jagger, just as they fall in love too. The sandy days and the sad ones, the happy laughter and the giggles will all be heard well within your imagination. Foster does a great job at creating the scene that feels like you're right there with the characters. It's a love story that most dream of and one you will love!

Maybe We Won’t is the third book in Melissa Foster’s Silver Island series. Boston attorney Deirdra de Messieres returns to her childhood home and sisters when she is passed over for a very deserved promotion in favor of hiring an outside man to join the good old boy company. When this happens, Deirdra puts in for a two month leave feeling they will beg her to come back when she is no longer there to do all the background work. And while there are initial calls, they soon cease.

While staying with younger sister Abby and her fiancé Aiden, she is overwhelmed by their ardor and seeks solace in the guest apartment above the garage only to find a very sleepy, and naked, Jagger Jones, the hippie musician chef who works for her sister and usually lives in his RV.

Although taken aback, and put off by being a bit older, Deirdra comes to know the easygoing hippie boy, his friends, family, and the fact that his life experience and friend base is so much broader, opening the door to so many new experiences. But can Deirdra ever give up the security of her 60 hour weeks for an uncertain future?

This is a lovely thought provoking tale that will leave the reader rooting for a happily ever after conclusion. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

Melissa Foster does it again, another amazing read!

I always enjoy reading one of Melissa Foster's books because I know I will dive into a world with great friends and family that you can't help but wish you were a part of and what makes them even more special is that there are times you can relate to one of the characters, and for me it was Deirdra de Messiéres. There are a lot of things we have in common and quite honestly I don't know if that's a good thing or not....maybe I need to take an island vacation and see. 😉

Deirdra has disliked Jagger from the moment she met him, and it's because she thinks he doesn't take anything seriously. Well, does she have it all wrong! I absolutely loved getting to know Jagger better his carefree attitude and love for music are just a couple of things that make this "hippie boy" so charming, what really endeared him to me was his dedication and support to his brother who is Autistic.

Can a workaholic and a person with wanderlust find happiness together, well there's only one way to find out. Grab a copy of MAYBE WE WON'T today!

This story is filled with all the feels, luckily I didn't find myself crying as much as I have in previous books by Melissa Foster but this one definitely pulled at the heartstrings. If you enjoy Steamy Contemporary Romances, Opposites Attract Romances, or slight Age Gap Romances (only 5 years) I would recommend this book to you.

Happy Reading!!!

4.5 stars--MAYBE WE WON’T is the third instalment in Melissa Foster’s contemporary, adult SILVER HARBOR erotic, romance series-one of the many spin offs from the author’s Love in Bloom Series. This is twenty-five year old, chef and musician Josiah ‘Jagger’ Jones, and thirty year old attorney Dierdra de Messieres’s story line. MAYBE WE CON’T can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is an ongoing premise throughout.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Jagger and Dierdra) MAYBE WE WON’T focuses on the building romance and relationship between twenty-five year old, chef and musician Josiah ‘Jagger’ Jones, and thirty year old attorney Dierdra de Messieres. Several months earlier Dierdra’s alcoholic mother died, and our heroine struggled in the aftermath, discovering her mother had a secret that was about to be exposed. Fast forward to present day wherein Dierdra is passed over for a promotion at the law firm, and our heroine embarks on a two month hiatus back home in Silver Island where our heroine will discover there is more to life than working hard for someone else. Enter chef and musician Jagger Jones, and the man with whom Dierdra will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Dierdra and Jagger, and the potential fall-out as their time together comes to a close.

Dierdra de Messieres had left Silver Island in the hopes to never return. Having lived through the loss of her father, and her mother’s spiral into alcoholism, Dierdra’s memories of the past are emotional and heart breaking. But Didi never expected to find herself falling for a man whose life is mostly lived on the road, a life Dierdra would never consider for herself. Spending time in Silver Island, preparing for her sister’s engagement party, Dierdra would find herself facing the past, a past she had pushed behind, and refused to relive. Josiah ‘Jagger’ Jones has always wanted to be a musician but life had other plans including the struggles of his brother who battled autism for as long as he could remember.Jagger had never intended to settle down or stay in one place forever thus working seasonal jobs as a chef then heading back on the road when the weather changed. Falling for Dierdra de Messieres was never in the cards but Jagger’s heart wanted something more than a summer fling with the woman with whom he had fallen in love.

The relationship between Jagger and Dierdra is one of immediate attraction but Dierdra struggles with Jagger’s lack of permanence, and his need to move on whenever the urge hit him hard. Dierdra knew her time and Jagger’s time in Silver Island was coming to a close but our heroine never expected to fall for a man who lifestyle was completely different than her own. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

As per Melissa Foster’s style, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and familiar characters having crossed over from the previous instalments as well as several of the author’s related series. We are reintroduced to Dierdra’s sisters Cait and Abby, as well as many of the locals who live and work in and around Silver Island.

MAYBE WE WON’T is a story of family and friendships, relationships and struggles, acceptance and recognition, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is emotional, entertaining and consuming; the characters are tenacious and dynamic; the romance is seductive and hot.
