Deirdra had to grow up way before she should have had to which never allowed her to discover who she was and what she truly wanted. She has devoted all her time and energy to her career as a lawyer so when she endures a setback she heads back to her hometown even if it is the last place she wants to be.

Jagger is a chef at her family’s business who couldn’t be more different from Deirdra as while she wants to strategize her life to the last detail, he believe that things happen for a reason. He wants to show her a different and more fulfilling way to live but that means breaking through the walls she has erected around herself and helping her heal from her past.

Deirdra and Jagger’s story is both heartbreaking and inspiring. There is so much more depth to both Deirdra and Jagger than first appears as they take us on an emotional and romantic journey that still has the humor and great supporting characters that we expect from this author.

Th is is the 3rd installation in this series. This is Diedra’s story. Her other two sisters have found their HEA in previous books. Diedra is a lawyer who works all the time. She is looked over for a promotion at her firm so she takes a two month leave. She goes to her sisters house to get away. Jagger is a free spirit. He travels around using his talents for awhile then moves on. This is their story. Great conclusion to series.

Deirdra and Jagger! Sigh!! It’s sooooooo good. A lawyer and a wonderer. All I’m gonna say is READ it already.

A case of opposites attract for Deirdra and Jagger. She loves to plan and know what she is doing and he is a free spirit who loves to travel . Can he convince her to give him a chance.
A great read. Love both characters and that is told from both of their points of view.

Deirdra is a workaholic escaping reality after missing a promotion she deserves, and enjoying some time in Silver Harbor. Her family owns a restaurant and though being back around them provides her so much peace, having to be near their Chef, Jagger, drives her crazy.

This was such a heartfelt story that had a real of emotions invoking. There was such great character development and strengths. There’s so many lessons learned on both ends and I found it incredibly realistic and relatable. The chemistry and connection is so steamy.

I have not read the other sisters stories yet, but now having a taste of their little world and family I would love to.

I was drawn by this cover and author and excited to dive in. However, I struggled to connect with the writing style and I did not finish the book. Thank you for the arc in exchange for an honest review

Maybe We Won't is the third book in the Silver Harbor series about three sisters. This one focuses on Deirdra de Messieres, the oldest sister who early on learned to take on a lot of responsibility after her father died and her mother coped by turning to alcohol. She is now a high powered attorney who spends most of her time focused on work, however she has recently been passed over for a promotion and takes a sudden leave from her job in hopes of prompting them to see how crucial she is to them and regret their decision. She heads back to her hometown of Silver Harbor to spend time with her sisters and regroup. There she starts spending time with Jagger, someone who is her complete opposite in every way. He is a modern day "hippie" and likes to live life without long term commitments, living out of an RV and although liking to be close to his family, spending time traveling to different places.

I love an opposites attract, small town love story and I loved watching how different they were, yet they still worked. I was a little frustrated by how extreme each of them were - both Didi as the workaholic and Jagger as a "hippie"(that word was used fifty times - 50 - in the book)! I struggled a bit with how to rate it because parts of the use of the word hippie and the extreme aspects of their personality was frustrating, but I still really loved parts of their story, especially those involving the sisters and their relationship with each other and their past.

I did not know that this was a series when I downloaded it, I did not feel like it was hard to read, but I think that it would be so fun to read about the other two sisters in this series! Deirdra no longer lives on the island, but she was recently passed up for a promotion at the law firm- she decides to take 2 months off to show them how much of a mistake that was. Through this she starts to interact with Chef Jagger and he slowly starts to break her hard surface. I loved all of the layers of her story, and how we slowly get to see how heartbreaking it is when you lose a parent so young. I also related so much to the focus on alcoholic parents, made this romance truly come alive for me!

I got a chance to rediscover Melissa Foster again. I remember how good her books are. This was so great I can’t wait the read the others in the series.
Deirdra and Jagger were so great together. Deirdra the uptight lawyer and Jagger the free spirit musician and chef. She has a lot of resentment from her past and I appreciated that jagger help her see that she can let go of the anger and resentment she has. I also enjoyed that he never wanted to change her only show her that she was still that adventurous girl she push down from childhood. They had great character development throughout the book.
I like the interactions with their family was so enjoyable to read.
A special that from Montlake and NetGalley for this copy

After listening to the first two books, I was very excited for Deirdra’s book. She is back on Silver Island after taking a hiatus from her job, which was very surprising from her. Her job and life off the island has always been her main priority. Both her sisters have fallen in love on Silver Island and she is happy for them, but itches to leave every time she is there. Her great childhood turned rough has tarnished the island. So when laid-back, “hippie” guitar playing Jagger sets his sights on her, her whole world gets turned upside down yet again.

Deirdra goes through major personal changes throughout her story. In previous books, we learn that she is not very laid back, very career driven, and has difficulty opening up to people. When we got a glimpse of who her love interest was in book two, I knew book three was going to be great.

Jagger, even though he is the complete opposite of her, is the perfect match. He finds a way to soften her edges and make her slow down. He finally allows her to open up about her difficult childhood and her parent’s passing. She has plenty of trauma she has just pushed aside and it not only affected her relationships, but her as a person.

I really liked seeing the character development throughout this book and how the romantic relationship progressed. I loved seeing other side characters and Deirdra’s interactions with her sisters. I felt certain parts were drawn out, but the romance is definitely slow burn so it is to be expected. Overall, enjoyed getting to finally see Deirdra get the ending she deserves!

Deirdra is a hardworking lawyer who is feeling underappreciated and takes a bit of time off to see her family maybe then her place of employment would see what things would be like without her. Thing is she's going back to her hometown and revisiting old memories that she would rather not deal with. Having to be the one to take care of her mother and siblings she had to grow up fast and give up alot. She's a serious person and Jagger is everything she's not. He's free spirited with little tying him down and he just might be the thing to loosen her up a bit.

There was so much up an downs with this book but one thing that remained that same was how much I was enjoying this book. I loved getting to know the characters. It was clear they came from different backgrounds and it was tough seeing Deirdra's past. She gave up so much to help her family and refused to be seen anything like her mother. Being back to her hometown dealing with old memories has to be hard but with the help of Jagger she was able to see more then what she remember. While she was remembering the bad times Jagger was helping her see some of the goodtime with her mother. Then theres the whole Jagger being a free spirit, who she sees as a slacker but eventually warms up to him. I loved seeing that change in her and seeing the romance progress. Like most things this short hiatus will come to and end decisions will need to be made and overall it was interesting how it turned out. I really did enjoy that romance between Deirdra and Jagger they were a perfect match!

Highly Recommend!

This was such a wonderful book! I absolutely loved Jagger and Deirdra’s story. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to read all 3 of the books in this series thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley. Deirdre played a minor role in the other books and we were also introduced to Jagger but they finally got the HEA that they deserved! I loved reading about how Jagger stays connected to his brother and sings to him over FaceTime when his brother needs him

Jagger Jones is what all good book boyfriends are made of; sandy sheets and all the flutters, a pure soul and attentive to all needs ;) I couldn’t have been more in love with him! Almost immediately, his sweet-hearted but teasing nature and fun loving spirit turned my heart to putty and I was his; a full surrender.

And Deirdra! Oh Didi how my heart hurt for you. The shadows of her hidden within my own heart just ached to see her wrestle with all those walls that she - and her deep wounds - has hid behind. A woman so strong, and yet just as susceptible to her fears and vulnerabilities as the rest of us. Hers was an inspiring story to witness, and the unwrapping of all the layers to her character as she transformed before me was raw, honest, and messy; a true portrait of love and healing as Jagger helped her revive that little girl who’d once believed, still trapped inside. A gentle listener and a fierce lover, the patience and passion with which Jagger faced these very walls around her heart was endearing, and I admired the fact that he assured her always that there was no weakness in her emotions as he encouraged her to keep on feeling; the good, the bad, and the ugly.

These two could not have been any more opposite at a first glance, and yet, together they formed the perfect whole. The battles they’d each faced weren’t just a ploy for extra dramatics or tension. They were deep and ingrained in Deirdra and Jagger, and the methods by which they were raised and dealt with was authentic and true to both of their characters. The chemistry and the organic love between these two was beautiful, the rekindling of the relationships between Deirdra and her sisters such a joy to witness, and all of the emotions that this tale stirred; theirs was a love that was all consuming and to feel as though I got to be a part of watching it happen, laughing and crying and falling with them? There are no words for how I adored it all.

In true Bri fashion I jumped in blind to the rest of the series (for those wondering, it is possible to read Maybe We Won’t as a stand alone) but I just know I’m going back to read the first two books. I’m not done with Silver Harbor, or any of these brilliant characters, just yet 🥰

Thank you to Montlake and Netgalley for the advanced copy of Maybe We Won’t, and for this timeless and soul-stirring reminder about all the things that matter most.

Deirdra and Jagger are a really cute couple. They seem like one of those couples that shouldn’t work, but they fit together nicely. Deirdra has been uptight and focused on her career so much that she is missing out on things with her sisters. Jagger was the perfect guy to bring out the girl that she was when she was young, before her father died. There were moments that Jagger just makes you go “Awwwww.” He can be so sweet and romantic, then turn around and make things steamy. I got choked up a few times, especially when Deirdra faces what she’s been avoiding or running from for years. Jagger changed her perspective in so many ways.

So lovely!

This was a classical Hallmark trope: fancy attorney want's nothing to do with the hippie but falls in love with him. But this is just to box the story in a known category, the truth is the book has a lot more depth if you read the other books in the series. And both characters have much more substance and complexity in their humanity.

Both Deidra and Jagger have hidden stories to tell and ways in which they shine beautifully. Each of them had their share of hard years and both are destined to create fantastic lives if only they let themselves see the bigger picture, the other possibilities. Their coming together is both explosive and tender, in a beautiful, heartwarming love story.

I love how this book ends the series, Deidra's story turned both unexpected and charming and I would love to see it turned into a movie. Though I suspect the book is so well written it would be hard for the movie to tell the story better.

I, also, adored what the title refers to. There are so many happy ending that feature the same happy family that it's wonderfully refreshing to see from time to time stories that end like this.

I received a copy of this in order to offer my personal view on it.

The Silver Harbor series has allowed me to escape from reality for a bit when I've needed it most and that's what makes this series so fun to read. It's emotionally packed with family, love, friendships, career life, traumatic events, etc. with a little bit of spice thrown in.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC copy of this book for my honest review!

Deirdra is at a crossroads in her professional life and has returned temporarily to her family at Silver Island to decide her next move. With too many skeletons in her island closet all she wants to do is run – towards Jagger, the local hippie was not what she had in mind. They couldn’t be more different, she’s a workaholic lawyer, whilst on the outside he appears to be a free spirited musician who tends to go with the flow and goes where the wind takes him. Getting in to bed with him by accident was not part of the plan. Once out there, it’s only a matter of time before Deirdra discovers the real Jagger and they embark on a fling together. It should be temporary, but with Jagger making Deirdra feel safe, cherished and adored, and awakening her long forgotten spirit and emotions what happens when they realise they are more than just flinging, they are both falling for each other?
Be still my beating heart, not only did Jagger give Deirdra butterflies, I had some too. What’s not to love about him, he’s kind, caring, flirty, romantic, supportive and addictive and has a way of connecting with the real Dierdra. Their story was emotional, heart warming, uplifting, a real feel good read and an enjoyable opposites attract romance.

3.5 stars
I've been curious about Deirdra and Jagger's individual characters since the first book, and I was honestly a bit surprised that her story paired them up. This is an extreme case of opposites attract, since she's a super workaholic attorney and he's a go with the flow "hippie" chef and musician. Turns out both of them have a lot more going on that these surface judgements.
Jagger shows Deirdra that it is ok to slow down and to feel things, and she recognizes that he actually does have a lot of plans and drive.
They were sweet to each other, and lots of chemistry. I just don't know that I find her change totally believable. This wasn't my favorite story of the series.

Deirdra de Messiéres is my soul sister! And Jagger… well, he is what fantasies are made of. Everything about Maybe We Won’t warmed my heart and fed my soul. It’s one of those novels that will make you laugh and cry all at the same time. Not because it’s heartbreaking, but because your heart is being put back together.
Melissa Foster characters are always so fun and relatable and the banter between Deirdra and Jagger is hilarious!
The entire series has been outstanding and so, so, so full of love. Love for soulmates, for self, for family, for friends, and for the world.
