Not the biggest fan of it & had a bit too much steam for me. I ended up DNF-ing at about 20%. But fun to see a single mom romance. If you loved her first book in this series you’ll probably enjoy this one. Just unfortunately not for me.

3 Risky Stars

Risky is the second book in the Adventures in Love series by Aurora Rose Reynolds. Although I loved the first book in the series this on didn't hit home like that one did. This is a short and sweet single mom romance. But Everly wrecked my head and the chemistry between her and Blake never felt good enough. Plus little things with her son were off for me.

It just wasn't a winner for me!

The only bad thing about Aurora Rose Reynolds books is that she can't write them instantly. I feel like I spend so long waiting for her next book and then I blink and I've read it already and I'm right back to waiting again. The positive is that they are so worth the wait.

This being the second book in the series, I don't feel like I know my way around all the characters. But then we got new characters and a little more of the characters we met in the last book. And as I read it, the previous story came flooding back and I couldn't get through it fast enough to see how everything was going to happen.

Everly and Blake had so much chemistry from their first meeting. And after everything Blake had going on making him cranky, Everly was just the ray of sunshine he needed. Add in the completely adorable Sam and I could have read about them for days.

I loved everything about this book, and I am absolutely dying to get my hands on Mav's story because I felt teased by that from the middle of the book.

Review ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Risky by Aurora Rose Reynolds

Everly never expected to be back living with her parents, certainly not as a single mother. Her only priority is to make a home for herself and her little boy, who's father is suddenly out of the picture. The one thing that she hasn't factored in is her grumpy but also very handsome boss. However, he does seem to have a soft spot for her, and the more they spend time together, the more of a family they become.

So this was an adorable story, very entertaining and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. I really enjoyed it, it's well written and the couple is very swoony. It was just very bland, nothing stood out, and I didn't really root for the couple or the story to go forward. To be honest I think the issue here is me, the famous it's not you it's me. I think I just outgrew the author's stories. But if you enjoy Insta-love with a single mom and a grumpy boss that adopts them as their own, you'll enjoy this one.

Thank you @Netgalley and the author for the advanced reader's copy. As always, all thoughts and opinions are honest and my own.

I fall more in love with this group of people with each book. I loved every single second of Blake and Everly and Sam's story. From a not so meet cute in her dads office, to then realizing Blake will be her boss. These two stole my heart along with a tiny little 10 month old name Sampson. The family unit and dynamics that ARR created with not just Blake's family but also with Everly's family was so realistic, you felt like you were living the story along with them. Conversations I could see happening at my parents kitchen island. The bond between Blake and Sam was priceless and everything Everly needed to understand what a REAL partner was. I could not get enough of them and now I am DYING for Maverick's story next!!

I love Aurora’s books and this series had me addicted from the start. Risky is book 2 but can be read as a standalone. I loved every second of Everly and Blake’s story. It’s a cute AF workplace romance with a grumpy grizzly bear of a hero and a sweet independent single mom.

The chemistry between these pages and characters had me enthralled from start to finish. Blake is hot and grumpy but sure knows how to be charismatic and loving. And he was a goner as much for Everly ad well as her little boy. I loved the sweet and simple moments, the laugh out loud and swoony moments, as well as the emotion filled moments and there was plenty of all of the above. Everly doesn’t have it easy in her predicament and neither does Blake but once they’re able to work together and open up it’s just beautiful

I’m obsessed with this world and can’t wait for the next book! The Audio was perfect and sensational in my ears

Adventures in Love has a second book! After Rushed, where Tanner found the love of his life, we now focus on Blake.

Tanner, Blake and Maverick are in need of an office manager. Their business is growing and Tanner has a baby underway. Everly is looking for a job. Ever since her ex learned of her pregnancy, he has told her, he doesn’t want the baby. But still, Everly held onto hope that he would learn to love him, when the baby was born. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. So, living back at her parents home, is not ideal.

When she gets the job at Live Life Adventures She can’t believe her luck. Tanner and Maverick are pretty cool to work for. Blake, however, is always grouchy, like a moody grizzly bear. Until Everly learns that it is just the tough exterior, with a marshmellow core.

When Everly is pressured by her ex and his parents about custodial rights, Blake steps up to help her out. But although Everly is very attracted to Blake, it is a bad idea to hook up with your boss, right?!

As usual: Aurora Rose Reynolds creates yet another wonderful, cozy and romantic story. Loved it! And now I’m curious about Maverick’s story. He deserves a HEA as well!

Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Everly Standler & Blake (who we met in Rushed). Life Adventures Lodge. Everly was done when her now ex wouldn't acknowledge their child in any way so she moved back home with him packing her bags. There is one thing Everly wants and that is to stand on her own two feet with her son at her side, but that means a job. Luckily she has all the right skills to be the office manager for Life Adventures Lodge, the only problem Blake. Blake has a lot going on in his life and this one woman he can't get off his mind isn't helping anything. Not to mention she has the cutest kid. He wonders can he balance a family life and his family? Will these two get a HEA or will they find the gulf between what they want and what they can have are to great?

Another amazing hit by this author. From the first word you start on you will not be able to put it down. In fact you won't want it to ever end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

**4.5 Stars**

Risky is a sweet and swoony romance. Everly is doing her best as a single mother to raise her son after her ex decided being a father wasn't what he wanted. Now she is back at home and she has a new job and things are starting to look up.

Blake is a co-owner of Live Life Adventures and has earned the name "Mr. Grumpy" because of his sparking personality. He does hit it off with Everly's son from the start though, and the two quickly become buddies and it seems like Sampson softens Blake up in the best of ways.

Before long, Blake and Everly are more than just boss and employee as Blake becomes someone Everly can really lean on for support and Blake wants to spend more and more time with Everly and Sampson.

I adored this story from beginning to end. It was sweet and romantic. It was fairly predictable but that did not take away from my enjoyment of the story at all. I loved Blake and Everly together and the moments throughout the book with Blake and Sampson totally melted my heart. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series and hopefully getting more from all of these wonderful characters.

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book.

Risky is a heartwarming, small town story with wonderful characters. Aurora Rose Reynolds has a way of writing that makes me feel like I am right there with the two main characters, Blake and Everly. I thought Blake and Everly made a great couple and I found it easy to like and connect with both of them.

I loved everything about Blake. He is a protective alpha male and an all around good guy. He is the strong silent type and hard to read but he finds it easy to open up to Everly. In fact, Everly is the best thing that has ever happened to Blake. She brings happiness and laughter into his life. Blake isn’t turned off because Everly is a single mom and he is great with her son, Samson.

Everly and Blake are perfect together. Everly can’t believe how lucky she is to have found Blake. Being a single mother isn’t easy for Everly but she works hard at whatever she decides to tackle.

There are a few issues Blake and Evely have to deal with but overall this is a light, and easy read. What I love best about Aurora Rose Reynolds stories are her heros. They are protective alphas with big hearts and once they fall in love, they are all in. This is a captivating story and I never wanted it to end.

“Under all your sharp edges, you’re soft, a safe place to fall. A safe place for Sam, for your mom, your sister, your friends, your dad...The good thing about all your sharp edges is that when you let someone past them, they are safe, maybe safer than they were before.”

Risky is set in the same world as Rushed and follows Everly, who moves back home with her 10-month-old son, Sampson, after breaking up with his dad. She begins working at Live Life Adventures, where she meets (and of course, falls in love with) one of the owners, Blake.

Here are a few of the reasons you need to read this book:
- Blake is a total grump (which is enough to seal the deal for me, let's be real), but if your heart doesn’t melt at the way he instantly connects with Sampson, there’s something wrong 😅. He was so caring towards Everly and Sampson as well as being trustworthy and dependable, which is what they both needed.
- Everly is such a strong single mum dealing with an idiotic ex and she deserved so much better. But I loved seeing her stand up to Lex and how fiercely she protected Sampson.
- My problem with Rushed was that it, you know, felt rushed! While this book is just as short, it was more of a slow burn. Their friendship was built on trust and support before developing into more. And when I say more, I mean there are a few spicy moments 😏.
- The audiobook narration is also great and available via Kindle Unlimited.

Overall, if you enjoy steamy small-town romances with grumpy/sunshine and friends-to-lovers vibes, definitely check out Risky.

A cute low drama story. Risky is Blakes story. Blake was very grumpy and surly in book 1 and at the start of this he's no different yet as the story unfolds we get to peel his layers back bit by bit to witness what's going on in his world and it explains why he is like he is. His whole attitude changes when he meets Everly. Everly has moved back home and is getting used to life as a single mum. She gets a job in the office where Tanner Blake and Mav work and naturally her and Blake grow closer. He really steps up to the plate with Everly and her son. I like that the story had a bit on tension but any issues were dealt with without things being down to a lack of communication. A good addition to the series. I loved being back with the gang again and can't wait for Mavs story

I love a good grumpy hero romance. Add to that a single mom with the most adorable kid ever and I’m a gooey puddle of feels! I swear I swooned every single time Sam and Blake were on the page together.

Here’s what I loved:
The characters and family dynamic.
Cute kids are my kryptonite
Low angst
Catch up with previous characters and more great baby fun.
A swoontastic hero
Single moms are my jam

I’m convinced this author can do no wrong. Whether you’re in the mood for light and fluffy or a little suspense and grit, she delivers. Ready this swoontastic single parent office romance curled was like curling up in a comfy blanket. It just felt good and was exactly what I needed.

GAH! I adored this book. ARR is an amazing author to start with and she always hits you hard with the feels. I devoured this book and lived for everything within the pages. This is a beautiful story of finding love when you least expect it between Blake and Everly. Add in her son, and it gets so much sweeter. Really loved this story!

Risky is the second in the Adventures in Love series but can be read easily as a standalone. I loved the first book and really liked this one as well. It is sweet and steamy with absolutely lovable characters and a great cast of characters around them. I loved the family dynamic around Blake, they were fantastic and even got a little side story. I highly recommend.

Lovely and warm!

This has been such a warm and comforting story book! it's the story of Everly, a new mom who tries to navigate her new life while the father of her baby wants nothing to do with them, but his parents do. And while she tries to gain a new footing in her parents town she gets a new job and meets grumpy, wonderful Blake who makes it all easy and loving.

It's a lovely, cozy story, filled with very little drama and a lot of sweet moments. There are heavy, life matters that get involved, but like everyone, they just try to navigate what life throws at them.

A comfy, lovely story that could very well be turned into a movie.

I received a copy of this in order to offer my personal view on it.

5 Stars!

Aurora Rose Reynolds is back with the next swoony, the second book (definite standalone!) in the Adventures in Love series. Y'all, if you loved the first in this series... just wait until you dive head first into this beauty and meet our newest couple. What a book, what a story.

Packed with all of the feels, heat, heart and all of the typical "Aurora swoon".. Risky was brilliantly written, perfectly told and y'all.. I couldn’t get enough. Blake and Everly (looooove these two!) lit up my kindle from the very first moments they stepped onto the page and ugh. My heart and their journey.

I cannot wait for the next in this series... in pins and needles after peeking at that blurb! *heart eyes*

I highly recommend this book.

Risky is the second book in this series and this is Blake's story. He is one of three owners of Live Life Adventures. I wasn't a fan of Blake in the first book so I was intrigued by how he would be in his own. He still had some jerky moments but there was an underlying sweetness to him, especially when it came to those he cared about. Everly is back home and starting over with her son. She gets the office manager position at Live Life Adventures and that is where she meets Blake. They had a rough start but as the story progressed, we saw how cute they were together. I loved how Blake treated Everly's son Sampson. Blake has such a good relationship with his co-owners-Tanner and Maverick. They are like brothers. And his relationship with his family was just the sweetest. Everly and Blake were nice as a couple and the little family they were building with Sampson was great. Like the first book, Risky was an easy and pleasant read. I can't wait to read Maverick's story.
