Risky is the book that got me out of the book slump I had found myself in. I loved instant connection reads, as well as single parent romances, and ARR did this one just right! The pacing of Everly and Blakes building relationship was perfect along with what hey were individually as characters. They were so easy to fall in love with and want to see their happy ending happen. I would tell anyone who needs a great read to pick this one up asap!

Risky by Aurora Rose Reynolds is the second book in the Adventures in Love Series and this is Everly and Blake‘s story.

Everly is a single mom and she moved back into her parents house to start over and get back on her feet. She is a strong woman and I admired her. She finds a job and becomes the office manager for Live Life Adventures.

Blake is one of the bosses of Live Life Adventures and you already meet him in the first book and I was so excited to see more of him. He is rather grumpy, but you can only love him especially how sweet he is with Everly‘s son Sampson.

Everly and Blake‘s story was just so sweet and a lovely small town romance. The two just feel so natural together from the beginning and you feel the sparks since they first met. I especially loved the family aspect of this book and how they slowly became their own one. And how Blake cared for Everly‘s son practically melted my heart.

Overall, Risky is such a sweet romance and I adored it. 4 stars.

Risky (Adventures in Love Book 2)
By: Aurora Rose Reynolds

Doesn’t have to be hard!

What a great book! In book 2 of Adventures in Love Book series we get grumpy gus Blake and Everly’s story. When they have their first encounter you believe it’s going to be a sweet love story and it is eventually. But you have two beautiful people struggling in life and letting someone in might be too hard.

Authors Blurb: Everly never expected to move back in with her parents, and she definitely didn’t expect to do so as a single mother. But with the father of her son suddenly out of the picture, she’s had to make some adjustments to her plans.

As always Mrs. Reynolds writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.
fills.

Now Everly has one priority: to make a life for herself and her boy. And Blake, her sometimes infuriating but admittedly handsome employer at Live Life Adventures, doesn’t factor into her future as anything more than her boss.
But it seems the guy who’s about as friendly as a grizzly bear has a soft spot for her and her son…and the more time she spends with him, the more difficult it is to remember why giving in to the chemistry between them is a bad idea.
Now, with their future on the line, they’ll have to decide if love is a risk worth taking.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

Risky by Aurora Rose Reynolds is the second novel in her Adventures in Love series. The novel follows the romantic journey of Everly—a single mom that just moved to town and Blake—her grumpy new boss at Live Life Adventures. The novel gives readers the perfect balance of romance with a little bit of conflict thrown in. If you haven’t read the Adventures in Love series by Aurora Rose Reynolds—check them out—along with all of her other novels.

I found Risky to be an okay book. Just like with book one in this series, the chemistry was off and there's something else that I can't put my hands on that is missing. The chemistry and spice between the characters weren't what I'm used to from ARR. Along with that, I don't find it being a memorable read. not saying that it's terrible, it just wasn't a winner for me.

A very light and fun read. It moved along at a very quick pace. Everly is a single mother, living back at home, working at an adventure company, and starts a relationship with Blake one of the owners. Blake seems to fall really hard for Everly and I enjoyed that approach in the story.

This was a very sweet insta-love romance! Much like Rushed, there is very little conflict either with the couple or via external reasons.

The couple meets, they begin a relationship that moves very quickly into I love you let’s move in together territory, happy ever after! There’s nothing wrong with that, of course, so if you’re looking for something angst free and just want a sweet sweet love story, this series is fun and easy reading.

I did enjoy this one more than Rushed. There's a little bit of steam, a great supporting cast of characters, a beautiful setting, a very very sweet relationship between the heroine’s son and the hero. Overall very pleasant.

I love a hero that falls in love with the kid just as hard as with the heroine. It was really cute. This series focuses a lot with the side characters, which sometimes takes time away from the main romance.

Everly is trying to be the best mom she can for her young son. Blake has a lot on his plate, taking care of his business and his family. Neither of them should be together. Especially since Everly works for Blake. It's too risky. But the pull they have towards each other can't be denied. Is it worth the risk?

I am so in love with this new series by Aurora Rose Reynolds. Blake and Everly are no exception! Their story was nothing short of amazing! Full of passion, love, and strength. I could not put it down. I wanted to devour them and their story and yet savor every moment. I am head over heels for these characters and this book! This is an absolute must read!

Risky, the second book in the Adventures in Love series was even better than the first. This is the first series I've ready by Aurora Rose Reynolds and there is something about the storytelling that keeps me glued to the pages. I can't put my finger on it, but I went into this a little hesitant that I wasn't going to like it, and then I found myself addicted to the story, and the unexpected delight that was Blake, Everly, and Sampson's love story.

I adore a good grump. And Blake gives good grump. He was a total jerk when we met him in Rushed and in Risky we get a lot more insight into what was making him tick, setting him off, and generally making him behave like an unruly bear. Also? He is impossible not to love after all this.

Everly snuck right under his skin and, frankly, your ovaries are not ready for the deliciousness that is Blake's relationship with Everly's son Sampson. It was a joy to read. It hit me right in the heart and filled it up in the exact way that I wanted it to. I loved them together. I loved the adorable little family that they created and I just really enjoyed their story!

I can't wait for more from this motley group of family and friends that I've grown so fond of! This series is turning into an unexpected treat and I will definitely be back for more.

I love a single parent romance (ARR has done multiple before and I loved most of them) and this one just wasn't it. It felt like nothing was truly developed at all and it just felt like a chore to read this. I really didn't care about any of the characters or what was happening in this story. Glad this wasn't a complete insta-love story but, when you get to the epilogue that complete goes out the window.

Single mother Everly is back living with her parents and looking into a fresh start after she was painfully made aware that Sampson’s father wanted nothing to do with either of them. Already disillusioned of men, the introduction to the grumpy owner and now one of her bosses of Live Life Adventures, Blake, already has her back up. But as their journey moves along, we see the softer side of Blake and all that he is going through. The interactions between Blake and Sampson completely melted my heart. And pretty quickly Blake realized what both meant to him and he was all in. When Everly’s ex and his family started to cause problems, with no hesitation, Blake stepped in and stood by her side. Risky was a sweet and swoon-worthy read and I am looking forward to more.

Thank you to Netgalley and Montlake Romance for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. All opinions are my own.

Everly’s life took an unexpected turn when the father of her baby wanted other things in life. Moving back home was less than ideal but she would do what she had to in order to take the next step to embrace a future for and her son. Meeting Blake and his surly attitude was something she would get over and discover the man beneath the rough edges. What a great series and I’m looking forward to reading the next one!

This book is such a sweet romance!

Everley is a single mom starting over in her hometown after her BD wants nothing to do with fatherhood. She meets grumpy Blake after securing a job as an office manager at his company. Off the bat, they have an undeniable chemistry but both fight off the feelings until they can't deny them anymore.

I loved so many things about this. Blake and Everley had such a sweet, genuine romance and Blake's steadfast devotion to her and Sam was so swoon-worthy. It's also a short read so I definitely think it's worth the read.

I have not read the first book in the series. I believe Risky could be read as a standalone.
This was a sweet romantic tale. However I don't buy the insta love. Within two months, the main female character is falling in love with her boss. He's falling in love with her. HEA. Two months, and he's wanting her and her child to move in with him, marry him and change their last name to his.

Can’t get enough of this new series! I loved the first book in this series and after reading the second, I feel the same way about this one too! After a failed relationship that resulted in a child where she thought everything was great only to find out that her partner didn’t want a child, Everly returns to her hometown to live with her parents, lick her wounds, and figure out her next move while raising her son alone. She ends up getting a job at Blake’s company, and as soon as she’s hired, it’s instant fire between them, constantly butting heads. Blake can’t help himself but for some reason he continues to treat Everly harshly every time he is around her while also feeling protective of her. This was definitely a sweeter romance book, especially coming from ARR, but I think that’s what I enjoy most about this new series from her because it’s slightly different from her HEA series. When drama starts to arise from her son’s father, Blake steps in and becomes the best support system for Everly while also making sure that her son is safe as well. I can’t wait to see where this series goes next, and hopefully we get Blake’s sister’s story soon!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Risky follows Everly a single mother who falls for her grumpy boss Blake! Their beginning was very shaky and at times I was a little unsure of Blake!

As the story continues we start to see a different side of Blake and he really shows who he is when he starts to step up and help her out with her adorable son! I feel like Everly was a relatable character especially being a single mother to my oldest! At times I did feel the story was rushed but by the end of the book I feel the author gave us a great sense of who these two characters are and what they mean to one another!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an Arc in exchange for an honest review!

If you know me even a little I won’t repeat myself with Aurora’s books & me. I know every single one of her books like the back of my hand. HUGE FAN! That said, I was so ready for this book #2 in the new series! We get BLAKE the grumpy and sexy friend.

To recap just a little this is a wilderness adventure type of series. There are friends who co-own a adventure business and in Book #1 it’s very sweet and I loved every word. This one I was prepared for because I knew BLAKE was next and he was the very grumpy hunky hero in book #1. But wait, this will break your heart and mend it in the sweetest swooniest ways!

Blake is harboring secrets which is making him to be more uptight, needing to be in control and grumpy. After all he has a lot on his plate, but he takes it day by day. It’s not easy being around people but still feel alone. In comes our heroine who I LOVED from the first moment. Single-Mom divorced beauty who moves back to her hometown, is pretty much at the low point. What’s more is that she goes to cover the front desk of her father’s firm (the receptionist happened to be a sassy grandma who has a better love life than the heroine) and that’s where she meets Blake. It was not a good meeting. The next one isn’t as good but it only gets better. I am really trying not to just tell you guys the whole story because I totally want to. This is very sweet, heartbreaking and there is the cutest little baby and a hunk involved, need I say more?!

If you want grumpy hero, single-mom, swoony and an adventure…this is for you. Also highly recommend reading Book #1 in this series RUSHED!

2.5 Stars

Well, after a strong start, this Adventures in Love series veered off into a leisurely stroll through the grocery store. That is, to say, not very adventurous at all.

The premise of Risky is good - Everly has moved back home with her 10 month old son after her boyfriend decided he doesn’t want to be a dad (or her boyfriend either, really). She gets hired as the office manager of Live Life Adventures, where owner Blake instantly behaves like a caveman over her.

Okay, so it’s not quite that bad. Blake tows the line, but doesn’t ever really cross over into alpha male behavior (a staple of this author’s hero characters). And things get awfully close to instalove, yet manage to not fall firmly into that camp, either (also familiar territory for the author). However the hero does call the heroine “babe” way before there’s anything happening between them.

In fact, I felt like there wasn’t anything happening for much of the book. Nothing felt well developed in this story. Blake is grumpy (caused by a serious family issue he’s secretly dealing with), and there’s some minor drama involving Everly’s son. But otherwise this story just gave me meh feelings. Which is disappointing because I know this author is capable of bringing all the feels.

The humor and charm that was present in the first book of this series is mostly absent. I liked the characters, but there was very little about the relationship that was risky. I didn’t dislike this story, but I didn’t find much here to recommend it either. Yet…I’m still interested in the stories for the last owner, and I’m REALLY interested in a story about Blake’s twin sister!

Sidenote: this book doesn’t release for another four months (May 24, 2022); I usually wait until closer to the release date to read and review a book but decided to go ahead and read the second book in this series - and write the review - since I was so tardy in reviewing the first one. I really feel bad that I’m not giving a more positive review…but a reviewer has to give their review of both the good and the not so good, so here we are.

While this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone with no issues whatsoever ever. I really enjoyed this book and I liked it even more than the first. Everly and Blake were everything and her ex is the worst. Their families added a tonne to the story and I’m so glad they were included as I enjoyed those storylines. Blake is honestly a dream. I really appreciated while there is ‘drama’ with the characters that there wasn’t a third act breakup.

The only things I would have wished for was for it to be a little longer and maybe show a few scenes from the trips of his business like the first book.

I can’t wait for the next one!
