Thank you, Netgalley and the author, for the opportunity to read and review an advanced reader's copy of this book. This in no way affects my review, all opinions are my own.

This was a great book with lots and lots of information! My husband hunts and I believe in the power of prayer. That's why I was excited to read this book. It did not disappoint. The only reason I give this book only 4 stars is the fact that the font is very hard to read in the electronic version of the book. I'm not sure if this will be the same font used in the version which will be published. It's a pretty font but as I said it's hard to read on a screen.
I love that the author included lots of scripture and how the verses apply to the chapter and/or the part of her life she is describing. The recipes sound delicious. I can't wait to try some of them! What I love the most is that she included exotic recipes (e.g., Moroccan recipes) as well. I love experimenting with cuisines other than the ones I grew up with. Another great feature of this book is all the information relating to storage, the types of grains and parts of the deer, the tools used (and potential alternatives), spices, etc. I love the details of what the different types of tenderness mean for venison (raw, medium, etc.) and the different modes for preparing the meat (oven modes). The photos were a great addition as well, both those of the author and her family and those of the recipes.

This book ended up being not what I thought it would be, but it still turned out to be an interesting read. And I did learn something from it.
