Huge thanks to NetGalley and Headline Eternal for letting me read an ARC of this book.

This book had so much potential, and while I enjoyed it, something fell flat for me. I wasn’t as captivated by Grace and Noah as I wanted to be, their chemistry lacked a bit for me but it was still an entertaining read.

Having said that, I really enjoyed Grace as a character. It was so refreshing to have a MC who was not only ambitious but didn’t rely on a man to get things done. The side characters in this are also worth a mention because although yes there is quite a few, they were also all really loveable.

I’m a huge fan of dual POVs, so I was of course very happy that we got both Grace and Noah’s side of things. I felt like it worked really well in this story because it added more insight into their feelings that gradually developed.

I’d recommend this book if your look for a light hearted, easy read!

How To Love Your Neighbour is a sweet read. It's pretty adorable. Grace is an interior designer, just about to finish her degree and move into the house her grandparents left her. Noah is business savvy and looking to expand his forever home into the house next door, which happens to be the house Grace now owns.

Grace and Noah's relationship starts rocky. Classic rich boy trying to throw around his money and get what he wants in the drop of a penny. Stubborn dogwalker-student-barista-designer Looking to connect with the family she didn't know in her newly acquired house. These two people did not mesh well! Which was hilarious. The bickering and the banter were fun and sassy, but even better than their rivalry was when Grace and Noah became friends. Oh, I adored their friendship! The bets and jokes and sneaky flirting. It's enough to put a smile on any girls face.

Given that How To Love Your Neighbour is a romance book, we can all guess where the story is headed, but that doesn't mean I'm going to spoil it for you, though. There are learning curves, communication issues, holding back emotions and ugly parents involved. There's also a whole lot of interior design, which is fabulous! I love all design work, which added another level of enjoyment to the book.

Was this book everything I could hope for? No. But I did enjoy it, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an adorable rom-com filled with beautiful design and beach views.

4.5 stars
This phenomenally addictive enemies to lovers romance was the perfect read for January—it’s humorously heartwarming with a cast of absolutely loveable characters and one of my favourite tropes: the grumpy/sunshine pairing.

Grace Travis has her life all planned out. She’ll finish her degree, get her dream job and most importantly, she’ll find a place she can truly belong—a real forever home. It’s something she never had as a child so, when given the opportunity to fix up and live in her grandparents old house by the beach (grandparents she hadn’t known existed) Grace jumps at the chance … until she meets her new neighbor, Noah.

Noah Jansen is a real estate developer who knows his new project is perfect, he can even see himself calling it home, except his plan involves land the house next door is sitting on—the house that’s now Grace’s.

Everyone knows you should love your neighbor …but that’s easier said than done. Grace and Noah are gonna find out just how thin the line is between love and hate…

This was soo good, I genuinely couldn’t put it down. The home decorating/ interior design aspect of the plot was really enjoyable and I felt really helps to set the lighthearted tone of the entire novel. I also loved how well it worked with the warm and fuzzy, found family vibes that we see from many of the supporting characters (particularly Morty,Tilly, Rosie and Josh but also from Noah’s brother Chris and Chris’ girlfriend Everly)

Grace, (our protagonist) was amazing , I liked how compassionate she was but her helpful nature and ability speak the truth not to mention her backstory really made me love her. Noah was also a pretty great character and watching his fairly grumpy exterior melt as his friendship with Grace deepens, was really enjoyable.

I also really enjoyed how much both Grace and Noah evolve throughout the novel, both dealing with dysfunctional relationships which I feel makes their friendship and blossoming romance all the more significant. They also—mostly importantly—felt real. They had flaws and insecurities (both generally family related) but that level of detail really endeared me to them both.

Their chemistry together was seriously swoon-worthy (we’re talking off the charts levels, here)and though it did have some up and down moments, their enemies to lovers/challenge each other to be better dynamic was utterly captivating.

I do have to say that the only downside is that it is a closed door romance, so there’s no steamy scenes (if you prefer some steam or spice with your romance then it might be best to skip this one.)

Overall, a really enjoyable and lighthearted romance that I feel is the perfect read to start the year off on a happy and lighthearted note. I’d definitely recommend to Rom-com and Hallmark movie lovers looking for a fairly light and upbeat romance.

Also thanks to Headline and Netgalley for the e-arc.

How to Love your neighbor centres headstrong Grace Tavis an interior design student, working several jobs to make, ends meet until she finishes her degree. When she inherits her grandparents’ house, she can’t wait to fix it up and make it her perfect home. What she didn’t expect was nightmare neighbour Noah Jansen, a wealthy real estate agent, desperate to buy her property to expand his land. Everyone knows you should love your neighbour, but that's easier said than done. And Grace and Noah are about to find out just how thin the line is between love and hate...

I was very excited to read this when I saw it available via Netgalley. After reading some great ‘grumpy meets sunshine’ tropes last year, I knew this would be a fun light-hearted read for the start of 2022. It was very cute, heart-warming and so quick to read. It took me a couple of chapters to get into the story, but once the neighbours had met – things really got going.

I loved Grace and it was enlightening to read about an ambitious, strong-minded woman who doesn’t rely on men to get things done! I loved her creativity and the bickering scenes between her and Noah, were laugh out loud.
I highly recommend this one for a heart-warming contemporary romance.

I really enjoyed and absolutely tore through How To Love Your Neighbour by Sophie Sullivan, what a fab book to start 2022 with.

How To Love Your Neighbour centres on Grace and Noah. Grace thinks she has everything figured out and she grafted her way to get there. Soon she’ll be finishing up her design degree and is looking forward to fixing up the little house by the beach that was left to her. Everything seems to be coming together, that is until a problem arrives next door in the shape of Noah. Real estate developer Noah thinks he’s finally found the place he can call home, but to make it perfect he needs to take over the house next door. The problem, well, it’s Grace’s. These new neighbours will soon come to discover its only a fine line between love and hate.

This was such a fun read. I absolutely loved Grace and Noah as characters. Grace was such a fab leading lady, she knows what she wants, she’s very funny, she works hard but she also has her vulnerabilities. Noah was also a great leading man, he’s handsome and charming and funny too, but more than that he’s trying to carve something out for himself, and prove to everyone he can make it stick. There is some enemies to friends to lovers going on here and the chemistry between them positively sizzled off the page (though this is a closed door romance). I felt really invested in both Grace and Noah’s professional and personal lives.

There are a lot of side characters within the novel, but each of them had their own distinct personalities and added nicely to the story. I especially loved Morty and Tilly, Grace’s loving and supportive found family. I also loved the relationship between Noah and Josh, which was hilarious to read about in places.

Sullivan uses duel person narrative, changing between Grace and Noah, which works really effectively within the story. I liked the way it gave a greater insight into their developing feelings but also to their own projects and lives.

This was a really fun and easy read. It was everything I was hoping it would be from it’s blurb.
