Twisted Fairy Tales is a collection of 6 fairy tales that have been twisted. They are laugh out loud funny - if you like subversive, these are for you! I particularly liked The Ninjabread Man and can’t wait to share these with my class. Lovely illustrations throughout the book too.

Lovely book to have in your class, this will also support your teaching of writing as a mentor text. Children always enjoy to use well known stories when generating ideas and ‘twist’ them. Great book.

This is a wonderfully funny twist on modern fairy tales and I think kids of all ages will enjoy reading this!

Twisted Fairy Tales is a retelling of old standard fairy tales, including stories like Little Rude Riding Hood. These could be useful for teaching very young children to compare literature.

Who doesn't love twisted fairy tales? This compilation was fun to read. I think many kids would enjoy it.

I have always been a fan of fairytales & even now as an adult I love fairytales.
This book was a enjoyable read, it made me chuckle at times & it an easy read, read in one sitting & I cannot wait to read them to my children!!
My favourites would be Cinder-elephant & Ninjabread man! Very enjoyable!!

I love this fairy tale variations. My six year old was very engaged while I read to her. They are not quick stories but they were funny and had fantastic illustrations. I was surprised with how many stories the book had.

Twisted Fairy Tales is a collection of stories that readers find familiar, but with a twist, just like the title implies. This collection had a few stories I've read before and some that were new to me. I enjoyed all of them as did my little readers. The language is illustrative and not too challenging. If you have an emerging reader they can read with you and we had a fun time trying to guess what the next twist would be.

I love how imaginative the stories become. The twists and changes made everything feel fresh. I have a whole new set of fairy tales to explore again and again. My favourite would still be the narwals because they are already such a fanciful creature, my kid's delight in reading with different voices for each one.

My five year loved all of these stories. They were cute spin-offs from fairytales. The illustrations were cute. The tales were a little lengthy and took bout 15-20 min to read each one. However they were cute, engaging, and brought some different takes onto the fairytales.

In this illustrated chapter book for young readers some classic fairytales undergo a modern reimagining. With plenty of puns and humorous illustrations dotted throughout, this collection of twisted fairytale is sure to amuse children aged 6+ In keeping with the spirit of the original stories there are lessons to be learned in each chapter about the importance of kindness, the power of embracing your unique talents and the value of using your brain over your beauty/brawn - making this an excellent resource for use in a primary classroom, particularly with older pupils who could compare and contrast these retold versions of well known stories with the originals.

A fairy godmother who needs to have her hearing checked makes for a wacky twist to the familiar Cinderella tale, and a little girl in a red hood who's so rude, you'll be rooting for her to be devoured by a wolf are only a few of the characters you'll meet in this fun collection of unexpected retellings of the old stories we all know and love.

Each story is highlighted by delightful illustrations by a variety of artists.

A note for librarians - two of these stories: Three Little Narwhals and Octopus in Boots would be very appropriate for this year's summer reading theme - Oceans of Possibility.

This story takes well known fairy tales and tells them with a twist. I do enjoy twisted fairy tales and both read them with my own children/use them during instruction in my classroom. The stories had different authors and I definitely enjoyed some of the stories more than others. It's worth pairing with a classic telling of the fairytale if your child isn't familiar with the original because some versions were so twisted/silly that they would not make sense to a younger/unfamiliar child. My older daughter enjoyed the jokes and humor a lot, but some of the jokes when over my kindergartener's head and needed to be explained.

Me and my daughter both enjoyed this modern re- tell of classic tales now with a twist. Instead of the Ginger breadman, it's now the Ninja breadman. Instead of Cinderella wearing the glass slippers, she's now turned into an elephant and brings a bowl of mac-and-cheese to the ball. The stories were written by different authors, most were funny and delightful. My daughter's fav story in this book are the Three Little Narwhals.

The authors of this collection re-tell six fairy tales. The newly renamed stories are Cinder Elephant; Little Rude Riding Hood; The Three Little Narwhals; Octo-Puss in Boots; The Ninjabread Man; and finally, Snow White and the Seven Robots.

Each illustrated story retains elements of the original tale. For example, Cinder Elephant still has a wicked stepmother and two wicked stepsisters but the story adds silly elements. For example, Cinder Elephant’s fairy godmother has fairy dust in her ears and does not hear well so Cinder ends up with glass flippers, not slippers, when she wants a coach, the fairy godmother hears a roach…and so it goes.

This book will, I think be enjoyed by children who possess a sense of humor. It will help if they know the original stories as well.

Great stories and illustrations but I find that they are a bit lacking in the entirety of the book, which makes the stories quite long lo read. Really enjoyed the twist on classic fairytales.

My son and I enjoyed this book, Twisted Fairy Tales! I am a huge fan of Fairy Tale retellings, and was so excited for this opportunity to introduce them to my baby, too. I like that we were able to read recognizable fairy tales, but that the endings gave us a fun surprise or twist. It is great because when my baby recognizes a story, he becomes more engaged and interested in the text, and can almost read along (he follows along, because he is familiar with the source material already!). Then, when the story brings a twist, he is more interested because he hasnt heard this version of the story before!! It is a very fun concept and a great collection of shorts I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the book The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales. We are so happy to add this to our collection of baby books and revisit it again and again.

I love the concept of twisting the old classics, so I was excited to read this with my children. I thoroughly enjoyed Twisted Fairy Tales, as did my kids. We all laughed out loud numerous times. The artwork that goes with the stories is fantastic! This is a great book tos read aloud as a family.
