This is the 3rd book in the series and I have loved everyone, I feel like I know the girls inside and out. This is a great series if you love sagas

War time sagas are my absolute favourite just reading how strong people were and giving not giving up just gives you an insight into our history.

MICHELLE RAWLINS Is an amazing author and I would read any book she writes

A lovely Novel about Women in WW2 who were largely forgotten about , but without whom the war effort could have ground to a halt . They were looking after their families , each other & working too in this really hard environment . #NetGally, #GoodReads,#FB,#Instagram,#Amazon.co.uk, #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/358a5cecda71b11036ec19d9f7bf5c96d13e2c55" width="80" height="80" alt="100 Book Reviews" title="100 Book Reviews"/>, #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/ef856e6ce35e6d2d729539aa1808a5fb4326a415" width="80" height="80" alt="Reviews Published" title="Reviews Published"/>, #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/aa60c7e77cc330186f26ea1f647542df8af8326a" width="80" height="80" alt="Professional Reader" title="Professional Reader"/>.

Loved this book, so disappointed to come to the end of it.
Makes you think how much women had to make such changes in their everyday lives, as well as having the worry of family etc to contend with. Loved following each of the characters and their families
Really looking forward to the next book.

I was honoured to be given an early ARC of the Steel Girls on the Home Front and to catch up with all the characters again. Michelle definitely did not disappoint. I loved it!

A beautifully written book, which totally draws you in and had me enthralled from the beginning.

I am now excitedly awaiting the next in the series.

Without a doubt I would highly recommend this.

Michelle knows how to get you totally engrossed in her books. It’s a delight to follow The Steel girls as they continue to work hard and support each other through difficulties brought on by the war. I am always amazed by how resilient they can be.Thank you Michelle for another excellent story.

Book Three 1940 and it's a new year for the steel girl's in Sheffield.
Patty and Archie are at the hospital, Archie after taking ill at work in Vickers is insisting he is fine and any amount of I told you so would not do patty any good and now he is ready to tell her the truth.
Betty Nancy and Patty are the three musketeers by their foreman Frank the Vickers steel girls, hard grafting shifting steel slabs they just have to get through this flamin war.
Also along with all the other girls they are on a knitting mission for the troops.
I enjoyed every bit of this book of all the characters suffering heartache it's a big struggle but a problem solved is a problem halved as they all pull together, as they look for happy times ahead I am so enjoying this series from the author and the next instalment will not be coming quick enough for me. Fabulous as always 5stars.

How can you fail to love the Steel Girls? They give their all, wether it’s to work, family or friends.
The three “M”s each have their own problems this time around. Nancy is struggling being mum & dad to the kids with Bert being away. Betty worries about her William being away at war, she is glad she has Ivy her landlady and friend to keep her feet firmly on the ground. Then she finds that she can use her spare time to help others and take her mind off her worries
This time round Patty is really struggling with some of the decisions that Archie has made , and it starts to pull them apart.
This all going on while they manage to hold down hard working jobs. Aptly named “Steel Girls “

There is so much happening in this book so it was no surprise that I read it so quickly, couldn’t put it down.
There is a secret romance blossoming too which just adds to the book. Loved it. Now to wait for the next one!

The third book in the series and it follows on with ease. , Love this series and this book too . From page one you feel transported to the 1940s. It’s as if you are working in the Steelworks and then back to the girl’s front rooms - such in depth emotions and descriptions. It really makes you understand what the women of Sheffield went through during the war years, how much love friendship and support through very difficult times and yet still with endurance. Highly recommend this very gifted author who can write in a way that you feel you are part of the story.

Well written, very descriptive story of a group of women working together at Vickers Steelworks. Each of the characters shows great strength and resilience in those tough times. Some really good characters in there but for me, no main character stood out, they all seemed on a level pegging.

The book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger obviously to lead you into the next one, but that felt as if it was the highlight of the story. The rest of the book for me was just a bit too level. Sorry just not for me.

Michelle Rawlins. You have done it again! Revisit the lively girls who work in the steel factory and follow their hopes and worries as Hitler progresses in the war that scares them all. Another cliff hanger of an ending. I can't wait until the next one.
5 stars from me.

Another great book in the series. My in-laws family were steel workers in Sheffield so I have a particular interest. The book is well written, the characters are all likeable and easy to relate too. It's easy reading for someone like me who reads before sleeping on a night. The story has plenty of twists and turns leaving the reader interested in moving on. It is also educating as to some of the roles that individuals undertook during the war and how everyday life was affected. Without giving it away this one in the series leaves the reader with a cliffhanger which makes me want the next in the series to come out soon!!!!

So lucky to be able to review this book. Once again all the familiar characters are believable and you imagine them as your friends/family. I don’t want to give anything away but it was such a page turner and I couldn’t wait to read the next chapter. I especially love the details in respect of how all the women pull together when one has a problem. The hard working women juggling jobs and family and volunteering to help people struggling. Coming together to share food with friends and the community. My favourite person is ‘my sweet Bet’. I’m so looking forward to the next book in this series.

Really enjoyed this book, the second of this series I have read. The continuing storyline of the steelworkers during WW2, excellent characters and narration of a dramatic period of history.

One gripe though. Some of the dialogue is in a Yorkshire dialect, yet one of the characters calls her mother by the American. Mom. Didn’t ring true.

I loved being back with the Steel Girls; their never-ending strength, camaraderie and grit through such difficult times. We rejoin the stories of Betty, Nancy and Patty, along with all the others who we’ve come to know and love (ivy and frank am I right?!).

Reading the subsequent books is like slipping back into a comfy shoe. You know you love it, it feels like you’ve never left and you’re happy to be back in happy, guilty comfort. Wartime books can really highlight the sense of community spirit in those days, despite the horrors that were being faced. You can really tell the author did her research and got the balance perfect.

It’s a wonderful, steady read that had me turning pages at the fastest rate I could manage! I just didn’t want to put it down and it was compelling from the start, right towards the end. Book number three was a huge winner for me and I eagerly await the next in this series !!

It was lovely to catch up with the Steel Girls again. A worrying time for those women with men away fighting and the relentless demands on them to work more hours at the steel works. With the continuing problems with food shortages it was really good to see the women and men coming up with ideas to help themselves and each other by turning their gardens into places to grow veg and house hens. A real cliffhanger at the end.

How lovely to catch up with all the characters from the steel works, finding Archie had been shipped off to hospital and was slowly on the mend, and what life had in store for the rest of them, how they were all there for each other to help when ever it was needed as always the steel girls end on a cliff hanger leaving you waiting for the next in the series, hopefully we are not waiting to long to find out what happens next as the war is progressing and we worry about everyone involved
