This book made me laugh so hard. This is the story of an immigrant family but not your typical story. This is the crazy parents and family members who have an opinion about everything and have no issues sharing it even if its embarrassing. This was a 4 star read. She puts on a mask to protect her feelings. He's a chilled out guy who had a hard past but appreciates her family.

4.5 stars. I really liked this book, and I had a hard time putting it down. A great blend of emotions, humour, and a bit of spice. A very solid friends to lovers book. The ending could have been a little stronger, but satisfying none the less. Overall, a great story. *I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

I wanted to love this one, and while I finished it, it is one that I won't be rereading. As the heroine and the hero both got on on my nerves. I do like some YA and then there's the YA like this that reads like younger YA in which almost every teenage stereotype makes into the book.

This is a sweet, cute and witty romance that captured my attention from the start and just drew me in. The plot was great and had such unexpected moments, it kept me intrigued and anxious to see what happened next. The characters were well-developed and endearing and you can't help but fall in love with them. They have such realistic and relatable qualities that make them so much more personable. Ms. Moran did a great job of creating the scenes and making them come to life with her creative and detailed descriptions. I really got drawn into Camryn and Troy's story and couldn't wait to see how it ended. It was a charming and entertaining read and I enjoyed it all the way through. Wonderful characters and an engaging storyline will keep you captivated till the end. This is a lovely story and I'm happy to recommend!

When I first started The Dysfunctional Test, I was worried that it was going to be the typical fake relationship trope, and I guess in some ways it is. What I did not expect was the connection that I would feel with Camryn and her logical perception of relationships and where she should be in life. As a romance reader who has never experienced romance in real life, I could connect and relate to her in ways I haven’t connected with many other romance novel characters. Kelly Moran uses humor, logic and family dynamics to sculpt the story, and while not wanting to give anything away, gives us romantic realists a sliver of hope.

Funny fake boyfriend/brother best friend love story. Carmyn wants the family off her back so she is asking her long-time family friend Troy to be her fake boyfriend. What she didn't expect was that Troy will want to change her life for the better. Troy wanted to help a friend but ended up falling for Carmyn. A lovely, funny family story.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

I loved this story so much! The characters are fantastic! Camryn felt like someone I'd love for a best friend. Troy was both adorable and unbelievably frustrating. The family had me cracking up. The chemistry was off the charts. The sex steamy. The romance slow and sweet. I laughed a lot. And there were several times I found tears running down my face. What a journey for Camryn. This is one I will be rereading.

Camryn Covic knows she's going places. She lives in a fantastic apartment in Chicago, has a fantastic job, and has a fantastic boyfriend to take home with her to her sister's wedding. But it all falls apart in one day - her apartment building is sold, her boyfriend breaks up with her, and she is laid off. But she manages to escape with her dignity intact. But now there's a problem, a huge one that dwarfs all others - she has no boyfriend to take home as her plus-one to the wedding. Why is this a problem? Because if she shows up with no man in tow, her marriage-hungry Serbian family will go nuclear. But her sister Heather offers a solution - ask their foster brother, Troy, to pretend they are in a relationship so their parents will leave her alone. Which a reluctant Camryn goes along with only when she realizes she has very little choice.

The book starts off quite slow, and I felt I was slogging along a bit, but it picked up when the action swung over to the parents' house and from then on, the pace was fast until the end. Camryn's family are dreadful, her grandmother, mother, and aunt putting her down constantly. Her siblings go along with it, except for Troy, who sees her for what she really is. And Camryn spends most of the book discovering just who she really is and how she can exert herself in a loudly vocal family.

Now this book is formulaic and and I knew how it would end, but it was fun getting there. Just be prepared to dislike her family and be patient, especially in the first part of the book.

A fake relationship for Camryn and Troy. She is dumped just before her sisters wedding, so needs a date, and gets family friend Troy to help her out. But what will happen when the feelings get real?

A great read.

I liked this book - in spite there being a few things that nagged me.

Having been in Cam's position most of my life - with a similar family background but without the support of siblings (me being an only child), I could relate more to her.

I liked the way she coped up with graphical imagination - but what bothered me was Cam shaming someone else in her mind - the massage therapist for example...

And the fact that Troy took on himself to give her the experience/ make a list without discussing. I imagined more more a heart to heart talk that makes her slowly opening to him etc. Also, he could have told some of the things we got to read (his mind voice) and what he told others when she wasn't around.

All said, it still was a good read. It made me lol and have a grin.

An epilogue would have been more satisfying.

Overall a happy Read.

Kelly Moran does it again. I love how each book has its own writing style unique to itself. I just finished reading the Redwood Ridge series so the cameo from some of those characters was a pleasant surprise. But this book was so different in writing style, the way it read, and yet it kept me just as enthralled.
