The front cover appealed to me and this is the first time I am reading a book written by this author. Though the book is supposedly a funny romantic novel, this wasn't my cup of tea.

Lucy is one of the Callaghan sisters. She gets hits by a bus and then have lost her memory, she is allergic to men and her cat despises her. With the help of her sisters, she tries to regain a memory. While trying to work out a memory, she discovers a note with Oscar and the date 9th February--is there a significance to that name?

Let's start with the good ones--the writing was really good and I do like the author's style of writing--it was truly engaging. But here's the thing--the story was too bland for me. I felt like I was watching this soap opera on the TV with baseless plot, too much dialogue that kept me distracted and there were some parts in the story that I was left a bit confused. Nonetheless, despite the negativity, there were some funny parts in the book that will make the reader laugh out loud.

For ones who enjoy cheesy romance with unrealistic plot, then this book is one for you. Worth 2.5 starts in my opinion.

First off, I didn’t like the title but I enjoyed the cover and that’s why I requested it. I didn’t know that this book was based on a set of sisters that are written about in other books, but I didn’t really seem to be bothered or confused by that. I enjoyed this book, it reminded me of a movie I’ve seen and Lucy reminded me A LOT about myself when I was younger. I wish there was a little romance in it, which I thought there would be based on the title, but either way it was a book that kept my interest. I loved it !!

What can I say this book was amazing and nothing like I expected at all!

Lucy is a force of nature, completely uninhibited, shes free, lives her best life and isn't afraid to just be who she is exactly as she is which I love.

Fantastic writing, great characters and some interesting situations along the way. I don't want to give anything away with spoilers but I can only highly recommend this one. Its a journey of rediscovering ones self, it's full of humour, family, love and acceptance.

I cannot recommend this series on the Callahan sisters enough- I think what I love most about them is how cleverly they stand alone in their own right as individual books and yet when you get to know the characters it is then so familiar and heart warming to see them pop up in the other books!
This specific story is absolutely fabulous. Lucy is everything I would want my daughter to be- ballsy, brave, hilarious, takes no prisoners and says it how it is. You could see how thoroughly adored she is by the way her sisters drop everything to help her regain her memory after the accident. Finding Oscar feels like a side story because this is mostly about the awesomeness that is a sisterhood. Please read it and then buy all Kristen Bailey’s other books and read them- you won’t regret it!

The book focuses on Lucy and her story of finding her way through her lost memories. She reflects on the last ten years after waking up from a coma. She's lost her memories and thinks she's 17 even though she's 29. And with the help of her family, and friends she tries to piece back together the ten years. She uncovers a lot about her character through her past choices.

If I'm honest, this book was listed as romance and had none of it. Instead, it was a fun fictional book about a woman and her family. But Lucy kept the story going for me. She's partially likable, with a young adult vibe and many inner monologues, making it a hilarious read.

Overall this is a well-written book. If you are looking for a laughable book about a women's discovery of who she is, coming to terms with feeling a little lost, and family that lend a helping hand in that journey- then this is the book for you!

Lucy was interesting as a protagonist, and I realm liked her relationships with her sisters. The story was fun and the writing style was casual and familiar. I do have to admit I struggled a little bit to finish this book, but I do not think that is this book’s fault. I had recently finished a romance that left me shook, so I KNEW whatever romance I read next was going to have an uphill battle. That’s why I had to take some time between finishing and leaving my review.

Overall, my favorite scene/chapter would have to be the beginning at the child’s birthday party. It gave Lucy a little more dimension and made her feel more real.

I wouldn’t say I was overwhelmed or underwhelmed, but instead that I was thoroughly whelmed by this book. I knew I wasn’t going to get a steamy romance book going in, but instead more of a romcom.

I'm so glad I was given the opportunity to read this ARC thanks to NetGalley! What an absolutely delightful book! I love the characters, the love of the family, and the feistiness of the main character, Lucy! Lucy is in a tragic bike/bus accident and this is a story of her trying to regain her memory. Lucy learns a lot about who she was during the 10 years she's lost, and about who she is now.
I was ecstatic to find out that all of Lucy's sisters have their own books, so I will soon be reading all of them also! A great way to start off the new year, highly recommend!

This was the author's first book that I read. I didn't find it particularly amusing, but the main character, Lucy, kept me interested in the story. My favorite aspect of the story was the familial interaction between Lucy and her siblings. Her friendship with her sisters was the sole highlight of this novel. Good sisterly connections are always appreciated by me. However, I persevered to see whether it would grow on me. I was anticipating a romance book since it was one of the categories listed, but it is not one. I believe this is the 5th book in a series so I was a bit lost.

I usually judge my books on which ones I can’t put down because I’m so enthralled in the story. Half way through I had to force myself to keep reading., and I wish I hadn’t.

Though I loved the idea of this book, I didn't like Lucy as a character. She was a lot cruder than expected, which is fine, just not someone I particularly care to read about.

I loved that Lucy was my age though. It meant that her 17-year-old references were often things I at least had an idea about. Even if I was way boring compared to her.

I still think the idea of this book is fun, it just didn't work for me personally.

After reading the description of the book I was really excited to give this one a read. Unfortunately, this book did not meet the expectations I had. The biggest reason probably being that this is under the romance category and it really wasn't a romance book.
I also could not connect with any of the characters, especially the main character Lucy. I do see other people completely loving this book, so it's probably just a matter of who is reading it. Unfortunately, I was not the target audience.

This book features the youngest of the clan Lucy. Unfortunately Lucy wakes up after an accident with amenesia and thinks she's seventeen again.

Throughout the book, she has flashbacks to her past and shares funny times with her sisters.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! I could not put it down. It was hilarious and heartwarming. The character development was A+ and kept me devouring page after page. I read this one in a sitting! I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next!

Sadly, this book just wasn't for me.
Maybe it was because I haven't read the other books in the series or maybe because I expected this to be a rom-com (because I found this book under the "romance" category on NetGalley) and it really wasn't. I didn't like Lucy, the protagonist, as well as her type of humor but I have seen many other reviews from people that love her and laughed a lot while reading this book, so that might be a very personal thing.

I think people who have liked the other books of the series will like this, too. It is a light-hearted, fast read so if that's something you're looking for, this could be for you!

While running to her next gig as Elsa, Lucy gets hit by a bus. She wakes up from her coma thinking she's 17 and preparing to head off to uni. When she realizes that she's missed out on 10 years of her and her family's life, she's distraught and works hard to remember the missing 10-year chunk. With plenty of laughs and tears, this book will have you re-evaluating who you spend your energy with and what legacy you work to leave behind.

"Am I Allergic to Men?" is not a romance novel BUT it is a story about love. Bailey creates a family of characters that bring the warmth of a close-knit family to you. It is very wholesome to see how the Callaghan family, as well as Lucy's chosen family, come together to try to help Lucy get her memory back.

Even though I really enjoyed the story, I can't give the book 5 stars. I feel like the title could be something else like: "I'm 30?" or "Who is Oscar?" or literally anything else. Centering the title around men feels like a disservice to Lucy and her story [especially since (1) she's a die-hard feminist who takes no shit from men and (2) it seems she doesn't really care about that part of her life once she wakes up].

Overall, I definitely recommend this book - just make sure to re-align your expectations of what you're reading since this is *NOT* a rom-com! Thank you very much to NetGalley & Bookouture for the ARC. :) happy reading, y'all!

I really liked this book! Some of the one liners from the characters made me laugh so hard. These 5 sisters have such a great bond and this book is clearly a feel-good type of read! I can’t imagine how Lucy felt trying to piece together the last 10 years. I imagine that being extremely frustrating considering she seems to have lived a pretty eventful life! On the other hand, I bet it must’ve felt so amazing to have people tell you how great of a person you had been. The ending of this book brings it all full circle 😉 This book would truly make a great movie or show series!! I’m just learning that this is a series so now I’m off to find the others 😍

Oh my, not sure what to do with this one. I loved this book at the beginning. I loved Lucy - she made me laugh and I didn't find her obnoxious - until I did. You can be sassy, blunt, free spirit and incredibly honest, until you aren't. Lucy simply became too much. As the book itself. Until the first mention of Oscar, I found the story hilarious, different and with a kick, thinking hell, we need more such heroines. But then, and with the second stay at the hospital, the story started to feel like a chewing gum, slow and it felt as if I was reading two separate and different stories.

Lucy was not an easy character, really. She was so self - assured that it felt like arrogance and it's not everybody's cup of tea. However, I liked her. Until the moment when she started to try to find her herself anew and here came the short passages about sexuality, her unusual places of work - and as much as I get what the author wanted to do with Lucy, to show us, I'd really prefer her without those extras. Some of the things in this book simply didn't work for it, felt as if they were just added there, for the sake of the page numbers probably.

The relationships between the sisters were brilliant and made me miss having a huge family. Not sure about the title though - what does it have to do with the story? Did I miss something? Nevertheless, the book had more better points and moments than worse and yes, you have to close your eyes sometimes, you have to roll your eyes as well and you have to have an open mind and be patient with the main character, but it made me laugh and let me relax for a few hours.

A quick, easy and lighthearted read that I really enjoyed. A great read for if you want something light and funny

Part-time princess impersonator Lucy is no damsel in distress. She is strong, independent and quite frankly wild. Only problem is, she can’t remember any of those qualities or likes since her abrupt head-on meeting with a bus(in a Elsa outfit) left her in a coma. Now sleeping beauty is awake, turning 30 and has no recollection of the last few years still believing she’s 17 and ready to concur the world. This novel is the last book of the Callaghan sister series and left the last sister’s story to quite the turn of events. Let it go? Not an option. Journey with flying Elsa in a highly comical effort to reboot her memory, with the help of friends, family and exes.

Okay to be quite frank- I didn’t enjoy the plot. I found it cringe and Lucy is a very hard character to love. I really tried to root for her and had many moments especially after asking questions like: “when is it okay to dropkick a child.?”

What I found disappointing was there was basically no romance, so this less a romcom but more a drama of a girl putting scrambled up puzzle pieces together with her family to form a picture of who she really is.

I have to say though- this book is hysterically funny. Despite me not liking the plot or main character the writing style is fantastic and ABSOLUTELY hilarious. Lucy’s escapades into this journey of self discovery had me snorting.

This is part of a series so I might have enjoyed it more if I had more background, but reading the previous books is not a requirement and can be read as a stand-alone.

If you are looking for a hilarious and even tear jerking book about a women’s discovery in who she is, coming to terms with feeling a little lost and the love of 4 sisters that would burn the world down to give you a helping hand in that journey- than this is the book for you!

I'll start this review saying that I didn't knew that this is the last of a series of books about sisters before I started to read(Iw as draw by the premise and by the cover as well), So I was hoping for a strong romance, completely blind about previously happenings in the stories. And honestly, I got frustrated at the end. It quite didn't work for me, I couldn't find humor or interest with the characters and this obviously took a huge impact on my exprience reading it. But maybe, to everyone else Who is following the series, it might be satisfactory.
