I went into this book expecting a sweet, funny rom-com (it was categorised as a romance on NG) but it was more of an in your face dramedy that felt like it was trying too hard to be quirky. Also, it wasn't until I'd finished reading and logged it onto Goodreads that I realised it was the fifth book in a series all about the different Callaghan  sisters! It wasn't mentioned in the blurb or anything so that was surprising to find out. I won't be reading the previous books though...

In all honesty I almost DNF'd this after reading the prologue alone. The characters were portrayed as a loud, mouthy and crude bunch of women who had no respect for themselves or anyone else around them. Starting fights, dancing on the bar, leaping on bouncers and puking everywhere? Really not my kind of people. But! I persevered knowing that the main story took place in the future, where I'd hoped they'd done A LOT of growing up.

Sadly, the main character Lucy hadn't. For a woman turning 30 with young nieces and nephews she was way too inappropriate with her language and actions infront of children, even before waking up thinking she was 17. Talking frankly about sex to a 6/7 year old at a birthday party whilst dressed as a princess...um what? Personality-wise she was just too much to be likeable! The humour in this book was also too much - it was cringey, crude, OTT and really not funny.

I did appreciate the messages that this book instilled like embracing who you are and the importance of friends/family, and the amnesia storyline was an interesting direction to go down, but the rest of it? It really wasn't at all what I had expected.

Absolutely brilliant read from Kristen Bailey, one of my favourite authors, i have read the whole series of the Callaghan sisters and loved them all, laugh out loud hilariously funny reads, Kristen's humour is second to none and has me giggling away whilst reading her books, how she describes normal everyday life is just brilliant and i think we can all relate to what she says! if you havent picked up one of these books yet then order now you will not be dissapointed

As much as I wanted to like this book, it sort of fell flat for me. There were parts of the story that I had liked, but I got bored through parts as well.

I think I was expecting a whole different story, due to the title and cover, but that’s okay. In the end, it was an okay book for me. Not amazing, not horrible.

I enjoyed the main character, Lucy, a lot and the family dynamic between her and her sisters. I loved Lucy’s kickass, outspoken, feminist attitude.

This is a new author for me, but the bright cover and synopsis of the book really appealed to me.

The story centres around Lucy/Luce who has a collision with a bus whilst cycling across London to star as Elsa at a childrens party.

Lucy wakes from a coma with amnesia. She has lost a decade of her life. It was interesting reading how someone adjusts following an incident like this. Words, phrases, technology, etc have all moved on.

Lucy has numerous sisters and, to be honest, I just couldn’t keep track of each of them and their backstory. It became pretty confusing and my concentration began to waiver.

The first chunk of the story was fun. The dialogue was good and the story flowed well. However, following the incident and waking from the coma, the story was slow.

I found the epilogue too ‘happy ever after’ - like everything had to be completely perfect for Lucy. It just didn’t sit right for me.

This is a definite 50/50 book for me. I would read this author again as I really enjoyed the first part of the book. However, the post-coma elements of the book were a struggle for me.

A fantastic read - full of humour and brilliant characters who skip and jump off the page. It’s not often that I literally laugh out loud when reading, but a couple of quips here genuinely made me do so.

I’ve gone back and purchased the rest of the series based on this book - I had read another in the series on NG and loved it too, so I’m confident the rest will be as good.

Highly recommended for fans of early-days Marian Keyes.

The story
Lucy is the youngest of the five Callaghan sisters. She is about to turn thirty, does several odd jobs to keep afloat and living in London and lives in a crazy communal house. She is totally irreverent, open about her sexuality and loves her loved ones fiercely. When travelling on a bicycle through London, she is hit by a bus and lands up with a head injury that causes her to lose any memory of the last ten years. As far as she knows, she is 17 and can’t remember a thing about the last ten years. Her family helps her reconnect and she revisits several friends and contacts to to try regain herself.

My thoughts
I really enjoyed the other two books in this series that I read in the last few days and this story about the youngest sister is a perfect addition to the series. I loved Lucy’s character and the closely woven stories of this other sisters works really well as a conclusion to the series. There isn’t traditional romance in this story, but rather love for Lucy’s parents, sisters and nieces and nephews. There is also questioning your existence and purpose of life, finding acceptance of your life choices even if they are unconventional. Such an entertaining read that is filled with love.

This is the fifth and final book in the series about the Callaghan sisters although it can be read as a standalone. I have loved every single one of these books and this one was no exception.
Lucy, the youngest and feistiest of the sisters, is the focus of this book. An unfortunate accident means she ends up with amnesia and has to start to piece her life back together again. Her family all join together to support her and the sisterly love shines through.
The characters in Kristen Bailey's novels are the stars and I have loved spending time with the Callaghan sisters.

This book is a page turning story of a life well lived, forgotten, and then remembered and lived even better. It is a tale of discovering who you are after you have forgotten your way. The main character lives her life unapologetically and with the fully loving support of her family. It is a great, uplifting read that focuses on loving yourself more than finding your one true love or Prince Charming to have fulfillment.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves romance, even though there is no actual romance in this book. Lucy finds herself and is content in following her own dreams and that is enough for her and her family. I loved every second of this book and will be purchasing it for friends in hard copy because I know they will adore it.

Am I Allergic to Men is the last book of the Callaghan sisters series. It can be read as a stand-alone novel, and it focuses on Lucy, the last Callaghan sister. It is my first book by Kristen Bailey, and I'm so glad I picked up this ARC! This book is innumerable laugh out loud moments, and I kept giggling until I sounded like a hyena. It is a light-hearted read but is laden with authentic life lessons. Lucy is a spitfire, carefree character who quickly grew on me. She's unapologetically herself, fuelled by curiosity and wonder and embraces opportunities. I loved this book as it examines family dynamics and comprehensively explores the depth of the protagonist (as a sister, a woman and an employee). I enjoyed reading Kristen Bailey's writing, for it is a unique mix of sarcasm, pop culture references, and so much heart. I know I'll be going back to read the stories of the other Callaghan sisters. A 5 star read!

Iwill start off by saying I have not read any of Kristin Baileys previous books and this is number 5 in the Callaghan Sisters series. However, I will absolutely be picking up the other 4 books, this book was laugh out funny, sexy but not overly steamy and I absolutely adored the relationship between the sisters.

Lucy, she is an absolute hoot, careless and free, completely unashamed to do and choose what makes her happy. She is living in a house-share with a collection of likeminded, free-spirited people and working odd jobs as a performer. To put it simply she is living her best life. That is until one day she is dashing across London on a bike in a full Elsa costume trying to make it to a Frozen themed birthday party when she is involved in an accident. The accident leaves Lucy unable to remember the past decade of her life … but by the sounds of it she had a blast!

In attempt to help her fill in the gap she moves back into her childhood home where her parents still live … as does all 4 of her sisters – many hilarious scenes ensue. We follow her journey through physical therapy, as she meets up with several people she has discovered through her social media and phone list but having no idea who they are or what their relationship might have been.

I really enjoyed how the storyline unfolded. From the initial shock of waking up in a hospital not knowing where you are and realizing you’ve lost your memory, to being determined to find a way to bring it all back and in the end realizing maybe you just have to give into your new normal and start making new memories. Lucy is the kind of girl you cannot help but root for. She is living life to be happy and experience all the world has to offer. She isn’t afraid to tell people off when they get out of line and quite enjoys calling people out You can tell she is a good person, the way her nieces and nephews love her and the shear number of friends she surrounds herself with. If only she remembered them.

As I mentioned right off the top one of my favourite things about this book is the close relationship the sisters share. They are all quite different personality wise but through it all you can tell they have a deep love for one another. Occasionally when books have a large number of characters I find they get lumped together and don’t have much personality, they will get mentioned more as a group with no real meat to their storyline. I feel Kristin Bailey did a really great job with 𝘈𝘮 𝘐 𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘤 𝘵𝘰 𝘔𝘦𝘯? Each character had distinct personality traits that set them apart. I know this is the 5th book in this series but there are several others who could easily have their own spin off.

Personally I am not into overly steamy books and while I wouldn’t call this book steamy there certainly was a lot of sexy talk and it really worked well to establish Lucys character and was mainly used in a humorous way and not overly descriptive. It left even this self-proclaimed prude in stitches.

The only thing that left me confused is the title – 𝘈𝘮 𝘐 𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘤 𝘵𝘰 𝘔𝘦𝘯?

I didn’t realise this was the last book in the series, I must say I loved Lucy’s character and while she does her own thing, she has a generous personality that shines through. I liked the relationship between her and her sisters which made parts of the book funny and other parts sweet. I got this as an Arc so would like to thank the publishers and Netgalley for letting me have the book to read.

This is on me, I should have read the blurb properly. I'm not a fan of amnesia stories - I don't know why - and in this case I thought the title and book cover were totally adorable. This is a good thing, but one which distracted me from reading the blurb in detail. There were loads of characters (I haven't read any previous Callaghan sisters books) I couldn't keep them straight or connect with any of them, so I think I'll be DNF-ing this, not anyone's fault apart from the slightly obnoxious behaviour of the many sisters in Chapter 1 in the club scene, all that shouting and puking, not for me. I liked the Disney princesses but life is too short!

Am I Allergic to Men? made me absolutely laugh out loud on more than one occasion. Lucy is funny and charismatic and really just a hot mess, but in the best way. I loved the dynamics of the different sister relationships and how those were all explored. The premise is very interesting, too, and it was well-written so it felt like a very fresh take.

That is the premise of this book by Kristen Bailey. The bond between Lucy and her family as she attempts to find her memories and rediscover herself at age 30 with only the memories of a 20 year old is an inspired look at coming of age and personal introspection. It felt a little drawn out and wasn't super invested in the side characters, but overall enjoyed.

So this is not my first Kristen Bailey book. From the first book of hers that i read, i knew this was gonna be a go to author of mine. I absolutely love Kristens style of writing, and this book was no different. This is the story of Lucy, the last of the Callaghan sisters. I have grown to love all the sisters throughout all the books, and you dont even need to have read all the books to know that it is such a strong family unit, and its definitely a family i would be proud to be part of. Kristen has done it again with a brilliant story full of laughs, swearing and love. My kind of book, 100% recommend.

I was looking forward to this book, but I was not looking forward to it too. I know I am a bit weird, but allow me to explain.

I was feeling positive emotions because I really utterly enjoyed these books where one of the Callaghan sisters was playing the main part.

I felt a bit sad because there are 5 sisters and this is book 5. This means I had to say goodbye to this great family and their stories.

The first chapter is in fact where the book begins which is normal, but it’s also the end in a certain way. Am I speaking Chinese? I suppose so, but once you have finished the book, you will hear me loud and clear.

As I mentioned before each book features one of the sisters, but this does not mean the others are not important. They are not always seeing eye to eye the way it goes in real life too, but when one of them needs some TLC they are a united front. They put their own lives on the backburner if needed.

Loosing someone is hard, but what if you loose yourself…?

A lovely story that put a smile on my face, but the one person who always made the others smile, is the one that needs rescuing now.

Although it’s great, I still felt a bit more sad now. 5 stars

OMG! I LOVE Lucy! Not being a fan of old television programmes, I never expected that I would say those three words and even remotely mean them.
Then, thanks to #NetGalley and #Bookouture, I got my hands on an ARC of Kristen Bailey's novel Am I Allergic to Men? #AmIAllergictoMen The title itself seemed like a pretty good question for any woman to ask, and the description sounded like the book would be highly entertaining, so I was all in.
The main character of Lucy is, I believe, in part what every woman would like to be herself. She has a laissez faire attitude, a killer sense of humour bolstered by socially unacceptable language and sarcasm, and most importantly, she does not suffer fools, not even lightly. She lives hard, loves thoroughly, embraces all of the curves life throws at her, and while she may have filters, she sees no reason to use them unless it's something that she wants to do.
When Lucy loses her memory after an accident, her free spirited personality still shines through. While some might find this type of person selfish, we learn that Lucy has a tender, caring and loving side that comes to light in surprising ways.
Like I said, I love Lucy! And I loved this book. I had no idea it was the fifth in a series, and will definitely go back to read the others centring on her sisters. This book, however, stood on it's own extremely well, like it's main character herself does.
Kristen Bailey is a superb writer with a wicked sense of humour. She brings her characters to vivid life on the page and makes the reader care about them as though they were family. I ran the gamut of emotions while reading this book, and it's been a while since I've been teary-eyed from something I read.
I would give this book six stars if I could!

This is the fifth and final book in a series about the Callaghan sisters and because I'm me . . .I haven't read any of the others.

Lucy is an out of work actress who attends children's parties etc, dressed as various Disney Princesses / characters. Lucy is dressed as Elsa and on a bike, zooming through London, on the way to a last minute booking when she is knocked off the bike.

When she wakes up, Lucy thinks that she is almost 18 and doesn't know why all of her sisters look so old.

There are ten years missing from Lucy's life and she needs to know why she isn't where she thought she would be by this age.
I actually am going to go and buy the other books in the series now to read about the other sisters. I feel that I know how they all end - but need to know how they end up where they do.

This book is fully of family, fun, love and friendship and I imagine, a brilliant conclusion to a family series.

Thoroughly recommended by me even without reading the previous 4 books.

I have to admit, I almost DNF’d this one immediately. The first chapter was all over the place and I really didn’t like how the characters were portrayed.

However, I continued on with it to see if it would grow on me. I was really expecting a romance here since that was one of the categorized genres, but it is very much not a romance novel.

The book focuses on Lucy Callaghan, one of several sisters, and her journey of reflecting back on the past 10 years of her life after waking up from a coma with only memories up until age 17. It’s centralized around Lucy and her family.

The main problem for me was the lack of interest in any of the characters. I really just didn’t like them and therefore had a hard time enjoying this book. I learned that this is part of a series and I don’t think I’ll be reading any more of the books.

This is my first book by this author. I know it says it’s supposed to be funny but I didn’t find it funny at all. It was really cringe worthy in my opinion. Lucy was honestly annoying and it got old very fast.
