Holly Bancroft appears to have the perfect marriage to Zach, a dream home and a beautiful baby girl. Holly had confessed to Zach her darkest secret when they met and he accepted her and never judged her. Sounds perfect?

BUT

Zach starts to change into a controlling and abusive stranger and Holly realises she must escape for her daughter's sake. Will Zach use her secret as leverage against her and to keep her trapped.

I love domestic thrillers and this one did not disappoint. I read it in one sitting and was intrigued how this great book would end.

Oh my goodness this book is absolutely gripping. I could not put it down, I had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen. A fantastic read!

This one dragged a bit for me, I think because it became a bit repetitive. Holly is speech therapist who is staying home with her new baby. While on maternity leave Holly notices things about her husband that she could not have imagined. One day he becomes a suspect in the murder of a woman and she’s not exactly sure if he’s innocent. Suspensful twists but very slow. Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the advance ecopy.

What a psychological thriller ride. A pregnant Holly has been dealing with her husband Zach's abuse and controlling behavior. The only thing in her mind is protecting their daughter that is about to be born. I loved Holly's character and the strength she portrayed. The writing was phenomenal and kept me wanting more. Amazing read and definitely fast paced. This book brought me out of my reading slump.

Wow, all I can say wow. There is so many secrets in this book, and just as soon you think you've figured something out, the author hits you from the left field. Highly recommended for anyone who loves a good read and can't wait to finish a book.

"The Marriage Secret" by Carey Baldwin is a captivating thriller that explores the dark secrets that lurk beneath the surface of a seemingly perfect marriage. The novel follows the story of the seemingly perfect marriage of Holly and Zach, but below the surface, Zach is a controlling husband and Holly doesn't know how to get herself out of this mess, especially since he becomes a murder suspect when one of his students turns up dead.

The author does an excellent job of building tension and creating a sense of unease throughout the novel, making it difficult to put down. The characters are well-developed, and the plot is intricately crafted with twists and turns that keep the reader guessing until the very end.

Not one of my favourites. Although the twist at the end was very good, this was a dull, long-winded, scatterbrained and poorly thought out read with little suspense until the very end. Even then I felt the actions, motives and sequence of events were sloppy.

the ending? what? im literally so confused. please don't read this. I loved it up until the ending and I feel like I missed something so I kept going back to understand but with no avail.

An absolutely thrilling read. This book keeps the reader hooked. It does have its moments of slack, but things get going thereon. A wonderfully riveting read.

I found the abusive marriage in this book to be too triggering to finish. Children with mothers in a suite relationships or wives who are in a suite relationships themselves need to think twice before opening this book.

this was a fast paced book full of drama. Some of the characters frustrated me. It held my attention the whole way through but I found the ending was a little over the top.

This book was a real page turner! I could not put it down! The plot twist I did not see coming and that always makes reading more enjoyable for me.

If you’re looking for a thriller/domestic suspense, this is the book for you. I wasn’t really sure where things were going to where they’d end up so this was amazing! It felt like a rollercoaster which is exactly what a good thriller makes you feel.

Another quick-read suspense/thriller about a woman in a toxic, abusive marriage, who is driven to get her life back. OK but there are so many similar novels like this it is unmemorable.
