Lease on Love was a nice surprise, from the cover I was expecting something soft, fluffy and light but Sadie is a sweary, ballsy badass I loved her. Sadie has worked her socks off since college towards getting a promotion in her sort of ok job so that she can finally pay off all her student loans and maybe get a decent apartment but when she is passed over for an unqualified man child she goes on a rant and gets herself fired. She reacts totally rationally to this and gets super drunk and looks for a date on an app. Her date turns out to be Jack except he doesn’t know he’s a date he’s looking for a flat mate.
So starts our love story. Jack and Sadie are super cute both loaded down with emotional baggage we must wade through and unpack both totally hot for each other on the downlow. Sadie is a constant delight and her friends aren’t half bad either. Loved it.

This was a complete binge read!

Lighthearted, funny and the slow burn that I needed. The characters in this book are hilarious, not just the two protagonists but the whole supporting cast!

The romance was beautifully written and believable. And the slow burn didn’t leave me feeling annoyed or agitated.

And that epilogue, gah I need more.

Would love to read more about these characters because this book was amazing!

Sadie and Jack when he is looking for a roommate, and she thinks she has matched with someone on a dating app.

As Sadie takes the room, and embarks on a new life as a florist, will she find out what Jack is hiding

A great read - looking forward to more from this author

I enjoyed this story with all the various characters who help our leads to grow and evolve as people, and the friends to more storylines, though I wish there were less expletives as the conversations felt a bit juvenile, even when discussing serious issues, due to this

A quick, easy lighthearted and fun read that I read quickly, it was the right mix of romcom, sexiness and heartwarming. It was well written and had good character development and a good storyline. Well worth a read if you want something easy and lighthearted.

I feel a little torn about this book. I wasn't sure whether to give it 3.5 or 4 stars and it was probably 3.75 if I was being totally honest, even though I'm only rating in full and half stars.
I really enjoyed the way that this was written and the blurb totally sold it to me.
Sadie was a fun and relatable protagonist and I was a big fan of her friendships and drive to follow her dreams.
Even though I liked Jack (even if he was so sweet and nice that it was almost difficult to believe such a guy exists in real life), I didn't get the same build up that I needed to be fully invested in them as a couple.
You know that they're eventually going to get together so there wasn't that same pull for me in anticipating them officially being together.
I get that Sadie didn't feel worthy but to see her continually call herself 'an asshole' despite everything that we and her circle of friends see, was a bit frustrating.
Another annoying thing; I didn't get why Sadie was so angry at Jack for not telling her that he was a millionaire artist. I think it was pretty obvious in one way or another that he came from significant money and that he hadn't painted in years. So I didn't fully get Sadie's strop about him not telling her this.
The sexy scenes were good and I did race through this. But it didn't feel all that memorable in the end. I almost felt like I was just going through the motions as I kept reading.
I would definitely be up for reading more from Falon Ballard in the future as the way in which she writes is something that I enjoyed very much, even if the eventual story didn't quite match that.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
