This book was pretty good, despite the on the nose title. I do love myself a pregnancy trope and this filled the spot. It was a cute romcom and brother's best friend, I mean, love love love.

I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS BOOK! so sweet and romantic and heartfelt and funny and unique.

This was cute even if she did cringingly refer to her “lady parts” several times. There were some weird British-isms thrown in too, like Hoover and shagging (and, well, the name Gemma) that I’m pretty sure native New Yorkers would never say. And Jello salad with carrots and apples

"Josh and Gemma Make a Baby" is a heartwarming and humorous romance novel. Sarah Ready has created a story that is both entertaining and emotionally resonant. With well-developed characters and witty dialogue, The author manages to handle the sensitive topics of infertility and miscarriage with a light-hearted touch, making it easier for readers to connect with the struggles that Gemma has gone through. Ready's ability to infuse humor into such serious subjects adds depth to the narrative while still maintaining a sense of empathy towards Gemma's experiences. Josh's affection for Gemma is apparent throughout their interactions. The story is filled with cute and humorous moments, making it a delightful read. Additionally, the writing style is engaging and enjoyable. I will be reading the sequel.

Gemma is looking to have a baby with her brother’s best friend Josh. She has fertility issues and this seems to be the only way to go about this. TW for those with fertility issues. IVF is involved. And this topic is close to my heart. This is nicely done and humor is done to help this along. These two are great together. This was the first book by this author and I would read another one.

I received this ARC through the publisher and I am voluntarily reviewing this book, opinions are my own.

This book was enjoyable! I was not immediately drawn to the characters, but I was interested in the plot, as it contained just enough "trope" to satisfy my itch for something that would be quick and fun. Over time, I grew to enjoy the main characters. One aspect I liked about this title in particular was that it didn't shy away from the "muckier" aspects of becoming a mother, including IVF and miscarriage.

This was a cute read with plenty of swoonworthy moments! I loved the chemistry between Josh and Gemma and found myself laughing out loud at times too. Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC!

So, I just wrapped up "Josh and Gemma Make a Baby," but honestly, I couldn't quite get into it. Despite the romcom premise, the plot felt a bit too unbelievable from the start.

Gemma's New Year's resolution to have a baby with her brother's best friend, Josh, seemed like a stretch. The idea of making such a life-changing decision in a strictly businesslike way didn't quite resonate with me. The unemotional agreement to create a baby takes unexpected turns, but the journey felt a bit forced, making it challenging for me to connect with the characters. "Josh and Gemma Make a Baby" just didn't hit the mark for me in terms of believability and engagement.

As someone battling infertility, I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but wow! This was fantastic. It was so romantic and quirky and emotional! I couldn't put it down!

I thought this was a cute story. Gemma is a fun character (she's a bit self-centered and judgmental at times but she comes around by the end) and her banter with Josh gave me all the feels.
There is a BIG TW around infertility. This goes into some specifics of Gemma's IVF process.
A super sweet story; a quick read; great narrator (ended up getting an audiobook); and a HEA.

Fell in love with this book from the first line... Just knew it would be right up my alley!
The cover is purely stunning and the story inside is stunning!

I cannot wait to buy my own copy to add to my collection and re-read over and over!

Can't wait to read more from this author.

Thank yous to NetGalley for providing the audio ARC in return for a review.
In general, I found it enjoyable, especially the charming relationship between Josh and Gemma, portraying a typical boy-meets-girl love story.
Nonetheless, the presence of fat-shaming towards Gemma and the occasionally casual handling of infertility and pregnancy struck a dissonant note for me.
These aspects seemed to downplay their significance and overlooked the unique struggles women face in these situations.

Overall, this was enjoyable and I liked the arc of Josh and Gemma's relationship. However, points deducted for the fat-shaming that Gemma was subjected to, and the sometimes quite casual treatment of infertility.

Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

"Josh and Gemma Make a Baby" is a charming romance novel that explores the pregnancy trope with warmth and authenticity. While it offers likable characters, engaging writing, and relatable moments, it doesn't quite reach a full five-star rating due to some predictability in the plot. Nevertheless, it's an enjoyable read for fans of romance and pregancy trope. A solid three stars.

I was actually recommended by a co-worker to request this and I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to read it before it was released. I do not typically enjoy romance books that have any hint or even sniff of pregnancy but I thought Sarah Ready did an incredible job creating this story about Gemma and Josh. It was a such a raw and real telling of so many women’s struggle under title and I really appreciated the integrity and honestly it brought to the table. And on a much brighter not it was also incredibly sweet, heartwarming, and BROTHERS BEST FRIEND!
