-Mejor amigo del hermano
-Segundas oportunidades
-Slow Burn

⚠️:
-Infertilidad
-Perdida de un padre
-Fecundación in vitro
----------

I absolutely loved this book. I don't usually enjoy the pregnancy trope, but this was different. Gemma is infertile and is trying to have a baby through IVF. I found it refreshing to read a book that talks about an issue that 1 out of 8 women go through. You can tell that she is strong and independent as she wants to raise this kid alone. She doesn’t care for a man, especially after the last one who left her because she couldn’t have a baby. The book goes through some real stuff that women go through.

Josh was as sweet as ever. He was always there for Gemma because that’s what friends are for. If she needed a date, a shoulder, or just a buddy to eat with, he was always there. He was sweet, patient, and always tried his best to put Gemma first.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book, it was a nice fluffy read, easy to go through, and had some fun moments.

I definitely recommend it if you are looking for a light read that talks about stuff that books don't really talk about without it being too heavy.

Gemma is 32 years old single woman, who discovered back in her 20s that she is infertile and found a while later her husband cheating on her in the middle of her house! Years later Gemma tired of dating and people's talking behind her back that she is divorced, in her 30s, and no one will like her. This leads her to give up on love and finding the right man so she decides that she is capable and wants to fulfil her dream of becoming a mom even if she is single and so her journey begins with her trying IVF. This is where we meet our beloved Josh, he is her brother's best friend and has been in Gemma's life since she was in high school and this is where it hit her, why not Josh? Can he be the father? Can he be the sperm donor and help make this dream come true? Will Josh and Gemma be able to go through this without developing feelings? How this journey be for the two of them? The answers to these questions are in this amazing book. I loved this book so much it was my first experience listening to an audiobook and I liked it a lot. The narrator was very good and I felt as if I'm watching a movie. They were moments through the novel where I laughed out loud and moments where I cried, it had bits of everything and it took me through the process of IVF without boring me with tiny medical details just the right amount that we can all understand. It demonstrated how this process can be very tough for us women and the importance of support groups in this case. Finally, it showed that positivity, hope, love, faith, and belief matter a lot and that a person should always take chances and never be afraid coz we only live once.

I wasn't a fan for the first half of the book. I thought the secondary characters were cringey and moments that were meant to be humorous fell flat. Gemma's internal monologue was also irritating. Josh was the one that really redeemed it for me in the second half of the book.

ahh I loved this book
Gemma, a thirty-two-year-old woman wants a baby, her only solution is to ask her brother's best friend, Josh to be the sperm donor. When he accepted, they have to follow many consultations with the doctor to ensure her dream. Gemma and Josh know each other since they were children, and they have never been friends, so how two people can have a baby without being friends or in a relationship ?. You'll discover this when you read the book.
This book talks about a problem that many couples have, infertility. I understood the problem by reading Gemma's thoughts.
The ending was so cuteeee and sweet, they deserve every happiness.

I listened to this audiobook in ONE DAY. I am so tired as I stayed up until 3AM today to finish it, but so glad that I did. This is a new-to-me author, and I am a sucker for illustrated book covers, so I had to request to download a #gifted copy on audiobook from @netgalley.

@mallonerin is the narrator, and she did such a wonderful job. She changed up her voice perfectly for each character, where you knew who it was. I think that is why I couldn't stop listening to it! The characters really felt alive while I listened to it. For those who "can't do audiobooks", PLEASE listen to this one! I also need to know your thoughts afterward.
⠀⠀
The story had quite a few funny moments, but there are parts where I had all the feels and emotions for the characters. This book has you laughing, but also has you crying tears. At times I did want to shake Gemma and say to her "How are you not getting the hints, lady?!!!" The book eventually had steam, but for you all who like really 🔥🌶, I would maybe pass. ⠀⠀

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was very sweet and a charming read, especially when Josh was around. I felt that all the characters were very lovable and funny. Gemma was absolutely adorable, but at times infuriating because of the miscommunication she had with several other characters, but I also think that is what made the book so good.

This was so adorable and sweet!
This book gave me all the feelings especially by the end.
I felt it was a real and raw portrait of fertility issues so beware of that before going in if that's a sensitive matter for you.
Gemma was such a sweet character and watch her go through the things she does and with so many toxic people around her broke my heart a little bit.
Josh... only when I finished the book I realized this wasn't double pov because somehow through Gemma's narration he HAD a voice and I absolutely loved it.
I really enjoyed this book so if you want something sweet and fun but also with real life struggles this is for you.

2.5⭐️/2🌶

Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to review this book.

Josh and Gemma Make a Baby had plenty of good ideas, a premise filled with opportunities to strengthen the bond between the protagonists and I was buckled up for wherever the ride would take me. I enjoyed the repartee between Josh and Gemma as they navigated unspoken tension leftover from their built-in history. I also enjoyed following Gemma's fertility journey and the honest portrayal of the process.

However, I was distracted by the attempt at a love triangle with another character and the excessive focus on that relationship detracted from building a connection between the protagonists. I also found the female MC, Gemma, to be written inconsistently - a woman who doesn't cuss and fills in curse words with comical alternatives but somehow unabashedly engages in public sex? I wasn't buying it. I also hated how the negative body talk surrounding her body went unresolved. In fact, plenty was unresolved and was not communicated and it was clearly just to lengthen the plot and create arbitrary conflicts which were then conveniently resolved. Perhaps a dual POV would have come in handy in this case.

Like I said, plenty of good ideas, but ultimately, it didn't fully land.

I LOVED this! I love the fake trope so much, and this was no exception. Josh and Gemma's history only added to the beauty of their story. This had great side characters (like Gemma's fertility friends), twists and turns I didn't see coming, and main characters you fall in love with and root for. This is my first Sarah Ready book I've read before, and I definitely won't be my last. Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read it in exchange for an honest review.

Sarah Ready’s book was so heartwarming, beautiful and at times quite funny. Gemma is a lovable and relatable main character. In addition, Josh is a sweet and patient partner for Gemma. This book will have you grinning from cheek to cheek a recommended read for anyone who loves a happily ever after!

4,5 Stars
This book was really great - I laughed, I cried and probably smiled through the vast majority reading it. Gemma decides to take life into her own hands and have a baby through IVF due to some health complications. She needs a donor and who better than Josh - her brother's best friend and stable constant in her life. Little does she know Josh has been in love with her. Although this books deals with fertility - a sensitive hard subject - especially to women readers, I thought it was very tasteful and thoughtful. Seriously this was so cute! I would recommend to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance.

If you like Romcoms this book is for you. Is a very simple story but so cute and kinda cheesy and exactly what I expected. Is super lovely and funny and a little bit spicy.
I really like it and am so excited to read more books of the author.

Gemma has stage four endometriosis, and can only conceive through IVF. When she gets fed up with her mother's attempts to set her up with men she has no interest in, she decides to do the IVF as a single mother-- and Josh is the perfect candidate. He's her brother's best friend, he's got great genes, and there's no chance of her accidentally falling for him.
But Josh isn't exactly what she expected. And her hot, successful boss, whose inspirational quotes got her through the hardest time of her life, suddenly isn't quite measuring up to the father of her future child.
Josh and Gemma make a baby is a beautiful story about finding yourself, finding friendship, and being brave enough to go after what you actually want.

I originally saw Josh and Gemma Make a Baby on a Goodreads' giveaway so I was super excited I finally got my hands on it. I was expecting a good book and that's exactly what I got and then some. I loved the dynamic between Josh and Gemma. I would definitely check out some trigger warnings for infertility, IVF and miscarriage.

I want to thank the author, publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book for a honest review!

I really liked this book. It made me laugh and cry at the same time. I especially liked the inspirational quotes that are given. This book also made me realize that sometimes we judge people too quickly. An important issue like infertility is discussed which is usually sidelined in literature. Overall, it is a wholesome book.

First time reading a book by the author Sarah Ready. I was given the opportunity by Netgalley to review this and I thought why not. I've been in the mood for YA/rom-com books. I loved everything about this book. The banter between Josh & Gemma has everything to do with lime. Plus I learned so much about IVF and the trials of what so many couples have to go through.

My friends and I have always said that if we weren’t settled with a man by a certain age, we were just going to forget the man and start a family on our own. And that’s exactly what Gemma does in this book. Even though this book covers some sensitive topics such as infertility, the struggles of IVF, and miscarriage, it’s written in a way that allows readers to relate to the material without feeling too heavy. Sarah Ready was able to keep it a lighthearted, relatable, cute read.

This was a really quick read. I enjoyed it more than I expected to as pregnancy tropes are absolutely not my thing. But this was so cute!

I enjoyed the accurate representation of endometriosis, infertility and IVF. The ups and downs, the difficulties and the wins.

All of the chubby comments about the protagonist made me cringe every time, especially when used in conjunction with her infertility to make it seem like she wasn’t worthy of love and then she believed it! Heartbreaking, but I was glad to see development beyond this. The fact that she’s relentlessly called chubby also had me questioning why there is a very tiny petite woman on the cover.

The title seems lazy. It’s literally just ✨the plot✨ I really think it could have been more clever. I genuinely would have skipped this book if I went off of title alone, but I’m sure it will cause others to grab it for the same reason.

Overall I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my time reading this book. Josh Lewenthal is a swoon worthy book boyfriend!

This is the first book I've read by this author, but it won't be the last. I really enjoyed this book. The characters were very well drawn and the author made me care about their lives. Lovely romance.
