Round up 2.5
Loved the premise, could see the potential in the romance and even related at some points to Gemma, but in all honesty she was frustrating to read about. She was really, really horrible to Josh. And the emphasis on the gender on the baby was also just a lot.

The steamy scenes were written incredible, and the writing style enough to keep me invested. I just had a massive struggle with liking Gemma, and that kind of ruined the book for me.

I liked the fact that she was determined to do what she wanted with her life and not following the man-made rules on how to, and her determination was note worthy. Josh was just too cute for her. Perhaps I wasn’t the right audience for this, but I love romance, I just didn’t love this.
Title- brilliant
Ending- happy as can be.
Comedy- on point.

Other than that- not for me.

Gemma Jacobs has not had the best of luck with relationships and fertility. She has a job she loves working with a famous self-help guru, she lives in an apartment she loves, and her family life is generally good, all she needs in her life is a baby that she can take care of and love. All she needs is a sperm donor. Josh Lewenthal, Gemma’s older brother’s best friend, might be the complete opposite of Gemma, but he is the perfect donor. All Gemma needs to do is convince him that this is a good idea. It will be just like a business transaction, as long as Gemma and Josh can keep feelings and emotions from getting involved…

As someone who is pregnant right now, I found it easy to relate to the characters and story in this novel. I might not have gone through a lot of the hardships that Gemma and Josh experience, but I found it to be enlightening to what some women have to overcome in order to reach their goals. Josh continues to support and love Gemma, even when she gets stressed and angry, feelings that are completely understandable for someone going through fertility treatments.

This is a great book about wanting a baby and not a man, even if the man wiggles his way into your heart. I really enjoyed this and will be reading more of Ready in the future.

Empowerment! Love the fact that she didn't bother waiting around for a relationship. The banter in this is so great between Josh and Gemma, she is a quirky FMC that is so lovable. This book was one that I just could not put down until I was done with it, highly recommend.

I was very intrigued by the concept of this book. It's not something I've read about before and I was very excited to read it. Unfortunately, this book fell a little flat for me. It felt quite slow as it took a while to actually get to the real point of the story. I did like the characters but the relationship was predictable and I knew what would happen from the start. I did think that the topic of infertility was handled and represented well and is a topic that should be discussed more in books. I also wasn't a fan of the random illustrations throughout the book, they were pretty unnecessary.

This was a cute roncom. Woman needs sperm donor, and turns to her family friend.

From the cover, it looks as though the story is about the pregnancy, but thankfully, it is about the path to the pregnancy, which is important. We get to see what getting In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is like, the drugs you have to take, and how they mess up your hormones like nobodies business. Although I didn't have to go the route that Gemma did, I did have to take some of the same drugs, and it does drive you crazy.

There are the usual tropes in there, as romances tend to go.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.

I am such a sucker for pregnancy trope so this was right up my alley.

Gemma is a single woman ready for a baby but due to fertility issues doesn’t stand a good chance. Going down the IVF route she chooses Josh to be her sperm donor. Gemma doesn’t want a relationship only a baby and that suits Josh just fine. Watching them fall in love was so sweet.

The only thing I would change was the single POV. I love a dual POV in romance books and here we only got to see things from Gemma’s perspective

Overall, this was such a cute read.

This was not what I thought it was going to be but I liked it! Josh was so endearing and Gemma was just *heart eyes*. I personally don’t hate the pregnancy trope in any form so I was definitely open to liking this book and I did enjoy myself!

While this book does tackle heavier topics, it was still a fun and refreshing rom-com about an unusual situation.

Oh this book was just so cute! Friends to lovers? Brother's best friend? I'm sold! I love rom-coms with all my heart and this one did not disappoint. The storyline was great. Josh is the love of my lif000e.This book was so entertaining. The narrator was witty and fun. The embarrassing moments were a liitttleee too cringey for my taste. But overall, this was a very good book!

I will not hesitate to be the number one supporter of the pregnancy trope in books. I will read accidental pregnancy after accidental pregnancy and not get bored and this book was as cute as they come. I had a few problems with the female main character because she was a tiny bit annoying but nothing that could not be overlooked. Amazing read for fas of this trope.

Trigger warning for infertility & miscarriage. Gemma is divorced, in her upper 30s, & really wants to have baby. She’s had issues with infertility in the past so decides to go to a fertility clinic. Gemma finds out she can start the process quicker if she has her own sperm donor…

Enter Josh. A friend of Gemma’s brother, whom she has known since high school. Gemma is drawn to him, but situations in their past make it difficult to connect.

Would definitely recommend! This is my first book by Sarah Ready & I look forward to reading more! Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC!
