Solid 3.

I found that the book started off nice and strong. Great verbiage, sentence structure, flowed smoothly. Plot and characters were clearly developing, but the further I pressed on the more and more likely I was to lying it down.
The author lost me. While we started off strong the story went a little off track. I mean she didn't stay off track, but it was hard for me to stay "into" it.

There is great potential, and the author is obviously talented. I felt like the characters could have been better developed and the story line didnt necessarily need so many twists and turns. The obvious red flags could have held off a bit... or lengthened into better character development and plots. Idk More time could have been spent on Josh's character. Maybe then I could have transitioned into him being the psychopath kidnapper a bit easier... maybe

This one was jaw dropping and I was truly on the edge of my seat reading it, until about halfway through when it became a little bit more predictable. Loved the easiness of this read, it definitely kept me wanting to fly through it!

I was completely enthralled in the premise of this book, it was thrilling and twisty. All the perfect elements to a perfect thriller.

From the outside it seems Grace has it all, until her daughter Kaia accuses her father of hurting her. Grace is under the impression that Kaia's accident that left her concussed is the cause behind such allegations.

Grace fully believes in her husband's devotion and love to their daughter, dismissing Kaia's claims but she doesn't know what to do as her brother Josh is miles away, her best friend Coco abandoned her years ago and her mother is taking Marcus's side, even though the signs suggest something more sinister is going on!!'

The story goes back to when Grace and Marcus were teenagers and we slowly find out the truth.

There are lots of twists and turns along the way which keeps the tension running high. All is not how it seems!!!

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

A real page turner, I enjoyed reading this over a weekend. Twists and turns all the way through. Keeps you guessing.

I definitely liked the concept of the book .about keeping secrets to protect the ones you love. But there are consequences to keeping those secrets. I always fall for the MC. I loved Grace and despised her husband Marcus.. I liked how the story was being told from different times. I didn't like Marcus from the start especially when their seven year old daughter accused him of being abusive. Whether I believed it or not, I still wasn't a fan of his character. The author threw plenty of twists in there to keep me guessing and really I didn't know what to think until the end. I felt like it was a pretty good family drama.

When her daughter has a concussion and accuses her father of pushing her, Grace's world as she knows it shifts. Her husband Marcus denies the allegations. Who should she believe? Her husband or her daughter?

For me, this was an average psychological thriller. The story is interesting, but I found the characters unlikeable and unrelatable personally. I have to say that Idid not expect the twist, I wish that it was done a little differently, because it felt like it came out of nowhere.

Overall it was an interesting and entertaining read.

This book started out strong. The first few chapters really grabbed my attention. As the story progressed I found that I wasn't that interested. I didn't like any of the characters and this made it difficult for me to want to finish it.

My mind is blown!! 🀯🀯 Just wow, what have I just read? And why am I only just reading this?

#everylittlesecret has made my heart pound, pulse race and I’m sure there were numerous occasions I held my breath.

Everything changes for Grace, when little Kaia accuses her father of hurting her. We see piece by piece unfold and my jaw has dropped so many times.

There are so many secrets to unveil in this book that the shocks have just kept on coming. Clarke has made this completely impossible to predict and has guaranteed readers will be left speechless.

This is a book I could easily imagine on screen. Clarke transported me and I felt as though I was watching each of the events play out infront of me.

Nothing about this book has disappointed. This is a gem from beginning to end. The characters are interesting and intriguing. The plot is perfectly paced and well thought out.

This is definitely a five star read that has been completely unputdownable and unpredictable. I have loved it.. I must immediately add @sarahclarkewriter other books to my TBR.

Sorry. I had to pass and give this a low rating. That was just unpleasant.

There are a specific type of books i tend to stay away from. Story that heavily involve children. When part of your story involves children, you're already swimming in a different category. Some are able to pull it off, sometimes it comes across as cringed. This story was not for me. I cared nothing about the characters, the situations, or what the outcome was. The writing was disjointed and I had to read several times over. It took me twice as long to complete.

Every Little Secret is a story about Grace, Marcus and Kaia, a perfect family from the outside looking. As we all know things are not always as they seem.

Kaia falls from a tree while climbing with her father. At the hospital Kaia claims her father pushed her. Their lives with never be the same as this "perfect" family unravels with versions of the truth of the past and the present.

Every Little Secret is a great psychological thriller of secrets and the truth they think they know.

A story told in 2 different time spans. Grace and brother Josh, their friends Coco and Marcus.. embarking on summer holidays from school, developing new friendships.

Marcus is entranced by Coco and although she appears very confident and self assured Marcus is frustrated to be turned down by her and angry when he sees Josh and Coco I an embrace.

In the present day, Marcus and Grace's daughter suddenly begins to make accusations of abuse from her father, despite being only 7 years old. Grace finds this incredibly hard to believe and sides with her husband, although as the accusations become stronger and a child psychologist seems to support these ideas, Grace begins to doubt her husband....particularly as the past has seen him lash out.

Josh now lives in America and comes home each Christmas but Grace feels she really needs his support and he flies home, tied in with a book launch he is doing.

However things are very much not as they seem...secrets from the past emerge and Grace finds her family in grave danger.

A real twisty rollercoster of a book with an ending I didn't predict.
Highly recommend a read.

Pros:
- The prose for the most part was fine and made the book easy to read.
- The pacing was quite good for the first 2 thirds of the book.
-The switching back and forth between timelines and character POVs made the story more interesting.
- The characterisation was done well.
- Very little, if any, political commentary from the author.
- I didn't DNF.

Cons:
- The ending lacked suspense as we weren't made aware of the villain's plans or the reason for their actions; we didn't know what was at stake, so it was hard to care about the fate of the victim.
- The plot development in the third act was pretty terrible. The boring and uneventful climax to the chase happened off-page and then everything fizzled out.
- The characters were all annoying, selfish brats and there wasn't much redemption by the end of their arcs.
- Every now and then the prose went from smooth and relatively pedestrian to jarringly melodramatic with weird metaphors and similes thrown in that didn't make sense.
- It was blatantly obvious from about 25% into the book who the villain was.

I would read a book by this author again, if they spent a little more time on their plot, pay-off and foreshadowing.
