This one was a bit of a slow burner for the first three quarters of the book, with no clear direction of where the story was going. But then all seemed to come together in the final few chapters and so I felt as though a good chunk of the middle renders unnecessary. However, you are constantly questioning the plot throughout and it does make you look at yourself and what you may do in a situation like that.

The premise of this book was intriguing and I was curious as to what the story line would be. It started off as a pretty strong story with a little girl falling from a tree but giving her mother and the hospital a reason for her fall that is extremely concerning. Unfortunately, the book seemed to slow down after this scene. Flashbacks with the characters and POV scenes did not hold my attention and I found it hard to continue reading. However, others may enjoy the story more, and I am impressed that is only the second book by Sarah Clarke. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

However: I had to DNF it. While I understand the author's intention to portray child abuse/trauma - I am not a fan of continuing the conversation that therapy is harmful. Perhaps people hold this belief, but I can't read about it after having been through what I personally have. Further, the extent of the gaslighting of a child was physically upsetting me - something I'm not gonna drag myself through. The mixed up intentions of the parent where she wants her daughter to get help, but does things to deliberately make this impossible were upsetting. Again, I know it's the intention but it was too much for me. Lastly, I had a friend recently get a concussion, so I now know what recovery looks like - and the idea that a child will get better in 2 days of rest - and further perpetuating THAT conversation was also wildly upsetting. Since my friends' concussion I've heard at least a dozen stories of people who have had concussion symptoms the rest of their lives, or who have recovered but it took more than 6 months.

The synopsis sounding interesting, and I was keen to get reading. The story was easy to get into, and flowed quite nicely even though the story was told by different perspectives, along with the past and present.

I was really enjoying this book until about two thirds of the way through. Once the the mystery started unravelling, I was left with a feeling of disappointment of the way the plot was heading. The rest of the story although compelling enough to see it out, wasn't very exciting or thrilling. Possibly because I just didn't buy into the perpetrators story.

This book was a good read, and did hold my interest to the last page. However it left me with a feeling of nothingness, and it probably won't hold in my memory after I've read another couple of books.

Compelling read that gets you thinking about what you would do in the characters situation.

I really enjoyed this book even though the subject matter is hard.

I love books about relationships and the dynamics between people so this was exactly what I needed.

WHAT I LIKED:
What a mind twister.. this book had me set on one path for the longest time, angry at Marcus, irritated with Grace not believing her daughter.. this is written so well and so wound up in both stories of the past and present that I did not think that ending would happen. Even Coco’s ending I expected different. But that cliff hanger… now I need book two.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
This started out incredibly slow.. Kaia falls from a tree and blames her dad, it then goes down a spiral of did he or didn’t he for so long that it is dreadfully boring. And that’s a good 30-40% of the book before anything else starts to happen.

OVERALL / RECOMMENDATIONS:
This is the most suspenseful thriller I have read so far this year. I thought I had everything figured out but I was 100% wrong every time.. I recommend this for all fans of #thriller #suspensefulthriller and #mysteryreads

Grace seems to have it all -a wealthy background a devoted husband and a beautiful little girl.

Wow this book is amazing! It kept me gripped from the very first page! I couldn't wait to see what was happening with the characters. Sarah Clarke has an excellent style of writing and the storyline was fantastic! This book is full of twists and turns! Every Little Secret by Sarah Clarke is a twist-filled thriller that will have you guessing until the end! The story revolves around Grace, mother to Kaia and wife of Marcus. Marcus has always been an adoring husband and devoted father to seven-year old Kaia. But one day, Kaia accused Marcus of something very troubling. Who should Grace believe? Should she side with Kaia, who is at the stage where she should know that lying is wrong, or side with Marcus, who she has known for years?

Overall, Every Little Secret is a decent thriller that has plenty of twists and turns. One highlight of this book is that it kept me turning the pages. I had to keep reading to find out what happened next. The troubling accusation at the beginning of the book made me anxious to know the truth. Is Marcus who he says he is, or has he been putting on a front? I took off 2 stars, because I found the ending and reveal to be wildly unbelievable and not in a good way. I would have to suspend all disbelief to enjoy that ending. If you're intrigued by the excerpt above, or if you're a fan of domestic thrillers, I recommend that you check out this book, which is available now!

I really enjoyed this book.
I have been having a bit of a reading crisis of late. Finding it hard to concentrate.
Due to endlessly scrolling on the internet in some of my spare time!

However, this book kept me hooked.
I found the story interesting and suspenseful.
I liked the twists throughout.
I’m so glad I found a book to get me back reading and it was left with a sense there is more to come…..

This book is absolutely amazing. What a wonderful adventure, gripping tale of motherly love how secrets and lies keep important truths from becoming revealed.
This is a story about a woman named Grace who is married to Marcus. They have a child named Kaia. When Kaia is Seven, she begins making horrible accusations about her father which leads Grace down a difficult path of trying to protect her daughter and finding out the truth.
What follows is a trip into the past and her relationship with her best friend Coco and her brother Josh. The past and the present collide in spectaculr way, and all the lies are uncovered to reveal surprising truths.
In the end, the reader is left feeling like they just got off the best rollercoaster ride of their life.
I was fascinated with the back story of Grace and her friend Coco, as well as the story of Marcus and his frind Josh. Excellent writing and pacing kept thi story moving along at a breakneck speed and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Small hints of the truth were enough to keep me reading to the end..and what an ending it was.
This is a great book because it is highly entertaining, with great characters and drama. Your next favourite book for sure.

From an outsider’s perspective, Grace has the perfect life. However, when Kaia gets hurt and accuses her father of hurting her, Grace is uncertain of who to believe. I found this story interesting and difficult to put down. It took me awhile to figure out the twist, and I didn’t see it coming. The book transitioned between 2005 and 2019 and it was easy to follow. I did not anticipate the final action in the book. It was a true psychological thriller. I enjoyed this book and will be on the look out for other books by this author. The story starts with Grace's daughter, Kaia, hurting some other children in her class and seemingly lying about her father, Marcus, hurting her. The story swaps between Grace's teenage years and the present day and describes the complex relationships between a small group of friends. The tale then becomes more complex and tensions rise within the group leading to a great deal of anger and accompanying string language. There are many twists during the last third of the book so that some things I'd predicted were correct but there were many more surprises! This is a unique, fast - paced thriller that has left me wanting a restful, simple book to read next!

Wow! Lots of twists and turns with this one and it definitely kept me guessing at times. My biggest issue with this book was the unlikable characters. Marcus, Grace's husband, is a hothead who does a lot of sulking. Coco, Grace's best friend, comes off as a selfish, party girl with no regards to anyone but her own wants. It was hard to read at times because I felt all of them were guilty! It was a fast paced read told from multiple perspectives. I would give it a solid 3 stars. Whoop, whoop, this book is just wow. Fast paced, with lots of twist and turns, gripping and fun, really well written and I highly enjoyed it.

What a crowd of truly toxic people! Marcus was just awful, Coco, even worse, and that's just the beginning. I didn't enjoy this very much, I found it far-fetched, and in need of polishing. I guessed who the bad guy was fairly early on, although that wasn't the problem as much as it just not being my cup of tea. But I'm sure there are plenty of readers who will enjoy it.

Despite this book being a little difficult to get into, I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it. Not exactly a whodunit, but more of a family drama/suspense novel. it took me on many twist and turns. I can say I had an idea how it would end but ended up being very wrong multiple times.

I would be interested to see a sequel as there was questions left unanswered, but have a feeling that is why. Overall, this was a page turning mystery that I enjoyed reading.
