This is a must-read for Bachelor Nation fans! This book gives readers a behind-the-scenes look at reality dating shows and what goes on when the cameras are off or only focusing on one portion of the show. I loved hearing the different perspectives of all the different contestants. I also loved that the book is set in Canada. I can't wait to read the next book in the Suitor Science series! Thank you to NetGalley and Three Birds Press for an e-ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

This book starts out funny and charming, and I’m immediately rooting for Bexley and Grayson when they first meet. I confess to never having watched The Bachelor but I know it has inspired this story and the unusual set up drew me to this book. It was great to have both Grayson’s and Bexley’s narratives in the book, as well as the snippets of interviews with the other characters.

I found it hard to feel the chemistry between these two and to believe that they could fall in love over 12 weeks when there’s so little interaction between the pair. In fact, almost half the book only covered the first week and then the rest another 11 weeks. It was a good starting block for their relationship but for me, it would have needed more one-on-one time than the setting of The Suitor allows. It was also difficult to get to know any of the other characters well, especially those outside of the show, so that also lowered my rating a little.

It was an easy read with humour and charm so if you’re looking for something light to read then this could be the book for you!

Falling for the Suitor by Holly Kerr

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and Three Birds Press and I am leaving this review voluntarily

I never expected to fall for The Suitor.

I actually trip on the hem of my dress.

It wasn’t my idea to come on the reality show, because who really falls in love after twelve weeks? I’m not good at love... or being camera-ready 24/7. The other contestants know all about the First Date Rose, how to get The Suitor alone on a group date, and they all have a plan on how to best win his heart. It’s not going to be easy playing nice with them.

If you are a fan of The Bachelor then you will enjoy this book. It is a quick and easy book to read. This book has a dual narrative - clearly labelled and is very easy to follow. The only thing that stopped me giving this book that fifth star is that I felt that the ending was rushed. Overall a sweet and likeable book, that is very easy to read in one sitting.

Rating 4/5

(2.75 STARS)

Bexley's best friend Fiona dared Bexley to audit for a reality dating show called The Suitor, where Grayson is the suitor. A hot shot guy who was in and lost the previous season of The Suitorette and getting his own show. The rest you can just imagine (so predictable).

First 40% was just bland, almost took a week to finish it. After 50%, I was little intrigued. and then suddenly the book was over. The end was so abrupt. The book would have worked more as a movie script than a romcom novel. It would have been better as a single pov. Writing was plain.

The story line was very obvious. The only thing that surprised me was Chrissa. She was amazing. when she first entered the show, I thought she was gonna play the role of the crazy ex-girlfriend. Fiona, Bexley's fest friend was almost like a myth character. For all the times she is mentioned in the story, she never once appeared.

Maybe it was just me. Maybe you would like but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Thank you so much to Victory Editing and NetGalley for providing me with this arc!

If you love The Bachelor, you will adore this book. It was an entertaining and quick read. This narrative is told from two viewpoints. It piqued my interest since I enjoy reading male protagonists, and Holly Kerr nailed it. I often find the first half of books boring but this book had me intrigued from the very beginning. Grayson and Bexley falling in love while navigating being on a reality programme where Grayson had to date 25 other women was fascinating to read about. In the end, love triumphs above all.

Thank you Net Galley for this ARC!!! Fans of the bachelor and bachelorette and honestly reality tv in general this is the book for you! I’d always wondered about the ins and outs of how the production of these shows do this book definitely scratched an itch I had ! I loved she bexley and Grayson fall in love. At times the book was bit slower than I’d expect so in that way it didn’t exactly line up with the fast pace of reality show. At times graysons POV had me a bit nervous for bexleys chances but I guess that adds a sort of appeal. Overall enjoyable and quick read.

Unfortunately, this is not the book for me. Within the first few chapters the author takes time to repeatedly write how “catty and mean” women can be. Then the male lead’s narration becomes a speech about how much he loves and respects women, which reads like a defense from someone who certainly does not respect women. The show it’s based on is full of sexism, and unfortunately this book seems like it is too.

I thought I was going to fall in love with this book and the characters and be swept up in romance. Unfortunately, I was not. I found the book to be very predictable but I liked the challenges that Bexley had to face and how sweet and patient Grayson was. I also wish I felt a little bit more of an emotional connection to the main characters.
The book was fun to read and it was an enjoyable experience and I liked getting to know Bexley and Grayson. The ending was not shocking but the twist was shocking which was refreshing.
The book is part of a series and I definitely want to read the rest of the books in the series as Holly Kerr’s writing style is very good and detailed.
Would recommend!

An original romp following Grayson as he is TVs hot bachelor looking for love amongst a gaggle of contestants. We also explore the months on the snow through the eyes of Bexley and she how she finds it all. The other contestants are a mix of mean, bad and just about friendly and all the personalities are explained and we follow the dates and chats as they happen - even between the TV execs. A light hearted romance.

I couldn't get myself to finish this one, it was that bad! I didn't like any of the characters, they all felt very indifferent and shallow. There were no depth to find in this book, neither in the plot or in the characters. The writing itself was also not something to write home about, it was plain and too simple for my taste.
Nothing in this book caught me, or made me feel intrigued to finish reading it, or just keep reading it for that matter.

THIS BOOK WAS INCREDIBLE OH MY GOD!!!!!

If I could give it more than 5 stars I would because I absolutely fell in love with Bexley and Grayson. Their chemistry and love was all you could ask for and I hope someday to have a deep connection like they do.

Throughout the book you are left feeling as anxious and frustrated as Bex because Grayson has to abide by the rules of the show despite his true feelings and spend time with other girls.

The little private moments though few and far between Bexley and Grayson are the best parts as you just want more time with them without the cameras and the pressure of being watched and scrutinized.

I really liked Chrissa who was a previous love interest of Grayson and I was concerned at first but once you get to know her character more and why she truly came back you’ll love her even more.

I don’t think I can put into words how much I enjoyed this book! The characters were funny, dramatic, and entertaining and there was not one moment where I was not completely enamored with what was going on.

I would keep reading just to see Grayson and Bexley together even if it was only for a few seconds or to see Chrissa meddling to try to help.

I hope we get another book because I would love to find out if Bexley finds out what a backstabber Perry is, at first I was happy to see Bexley making friends as she discusses how difficult it has been for her in the past so seeing Perry being so kind was refreshing but it turns out she was just like Ashley she was just better at hiding her malicious intent.

Thank you to Victory Editing, Three Birds Press, NetGalley, and of course a huge thank you to Holly Kerr for writing this incredible novel!!!

What would you say if someone ask you to join in dating reality tv show? Would you accept it? "To find love" they said, was it really? Could you really love someone in that short of time? And if you did, did they feel the same? What if they were not what they look like? Why did they join to the show anyway, everyone had a reason right?

That was how Bexley and Grayson feel when they met each other. "I like him but what if he's not", "I want to be with her but is she the right one?"
I love this dynamic that this book brought up. You never really know someone until you really "dive in" with them. Sometimes the first impression was right, but sometimes is not and what can we say?

I also love the connection between characters. It feels real. And the romance feel make sense to me. Because the story sets in dating reality tv show so I thought there's must be some kind of insta-love involve but appearently it was not like that at all. They still talked friendly and got to know each other even though in front of camera they had to show somekind of PDA, like kissing. Well....the show needed some drama, didn't it? 😉

I like how Holly Kerr wrote romance. It was not too much, out of this world kinda romance. It just felt nice and sweet, I really love it 😍😍😍
My heart beated faster every time Bexley and Grayson being together 😆

I was expecting to be gripped by this story since page one. I was expecting to read it in a day (you know how reality shows are). It was much slower than I expected, but it was not bad.
I wasn’t surprised by the ending, but I wasn’t disappointed. It had it’s funny moments, it’s romantic moments and the writing is very engaging. I would definitely read more books by this author.

Do you like watching the bachelor? If so, you might enjoy this book. To me it felt kind of like how I have felt watching the bachelor some seasons. Like I’m just really ready to get to the end and see who they pick and if they will last or not…

I felt like the story line made sense for the plot that the author put together, but I felt there could have been a different way of writing it so you didn’t know how it was all going to end long before you got there… it felt like I was reading about Colton’s season (iykyk) but where if Bexley was Cassie she was all in instead of whatever it was that Cassie was during that season… it might have been better without switching perspectives, to help with the suspense, but I also don’t know. I also wish there would have been and epilogue instead of fully ending with the final rose ceremony.

Also, there were a lot of typos in the ARC copy which I hope got cleaned up before final publication that affected my enjoyment of the story as I was trying to figure out what word was meant to be used that was clearly missing to form the full thoughts in places.

Thank you NetGalley and Three Birds Press for the ARC of this book! I am so thankful to obtain a copy to read in advance of its release!

I was really enjoying the book at first because I had never seen a book that is about a reality show and I tell you I am the biggest fan of reality shows. I think I just like to watch them not to read, because at the same time I was curious about what was going to happen I was really bored in some parts and think that the book could be a little shorter. It’s a nice read to pass time!

Bexley was dared to apply for a show called“The Suitor“ (not to be confused with „The Bachelor“ - they do things differently on The Suitor) and doesn’t expect to fall in love with the suitor Grayson.
Written in alternating chapters from Bexleys and Graysons point of view and the chapters beginning with tidbits from the contestants giving one on one interviews with the producers (like on The Bachelor), we get to find out how both Bex and Grayson feel about each other and the other girls.

What a shit show. And I mean it in both senses: It’s a shitty concept and a whole clusterfuck of stupid things happening.
First: They’re shooting in a hotel that also has little cabins for rent. The girls are in the hotel and share rooms which is strange because of they blocked off the whole whine why not give every girl their own room. Grayson and the producers and camera people each have their own little cabin where ANYBODY can come visit. And even though it’s not allowed for the girls to visit Grayson „after hours“ so many of them sneak out to do just that.

The shooting takes place over three months and instead of giving every girl that gets to stay a red rose during the „sending off party“, the roses are delivered to the girls door in the morning. Where they are filmed picking it up? I don’t know how, how many cameras are there to film every girl because we sure only get to meet Johnny.

Every girl immediately starts pushing their tongues into Graysons mouth because The Suitor is different from The Bachelor.
The overnight dates are 95% certain to include sexual intercourse because The Suitor is different from The Bachelor. I don’t want to spoil anything but the reaction from one of the contestants after her overnight date is simply ridiculous.
The finale includes a proposal, that’s why the call it 90 day fiancé… no sorry wrong show. It includes a proposal because The Suitor is different from The Bachelor.
Graysons friends are taking part in the dates because The Suitor is different than The Bachelor.
Everybody talks like there are no cameras (about family problems, not reciprocated love interests or friends with anxiety - seriously, if I were Neely or Fiona I’d be so so embarrassed) because The Suitor is different than The Bachelor.
The episodes are apparently shot and on TV immediately after because The Suitor… You get my drift.

I can’t believe how stupid this whole thing is. The dialogue is stilted at best and sounds like it’s written by a 14 year old at worst.

The characters are dumb. Fiona, Bexleys best friend who is the quota „relatable, so cut but has anxiety and a whole lot of other issues so has to live through her friend Bex“ person.
Chrissa, who was The Suitorette in the past and sent Grayson home, was brought back on his Suitor season to bring the drama - but then suddenly we find out she’s the quota indigenous woman with a secret of her own? I was like what? Where did that just come from?
Bexley who is the not girly girl and can write her masters thesis while on the show? What??
Grayson, former baseball star with a whole lot of daddy issues he doesn’t want to talk about but his sister (on one of the dates - huh?) brings up even though he asked her not to.
Some of his friends who are popular YouTubers.
And the cattle of bitchy girls the author probably invented because she has revenge fantasies.
Don’t get me started on Bexleys brother. What kind of name is Boen? Is it pronounced „Bo-en“? „Bone“? If the latter, should’ve called Bexley „Skein“ (skin) or something…

I’m glad I got this ARC because had I spent money on this thing I’d have been so mad. It’s bad. It’s so bad. I don’t know if I should laugh or cry with this laughable absurd book.
What I do know is that I don’t want to read a book by this „author“ EVER again. I’ve read fanfiction better than this.

Bexley finds herself a contestant on a Bachelor-esque dating show with Grayson as the center guy. They hit it off immediately, but developing a relationship within the presence of a dozen other girls is not to be without its challenges.

This read was sweet and fun! A small tidbit, but I appreciated that the author acknowledged the existence of the Bachelor and Bachelorette within the novel and didn't pretend to operate in a world where they don't exist. Holly is sweet and Grayson definitely has a good heart. If you're a Bachelor-franchise fan, many of the emotions and situations will be familiar to you. At times it felt a tad too familiar having watched a couple seasons of the show, but at other points it felt fresh and not cliche whatsoever! I got invested in the budding relationship from the start, but wished that there was more time spent on the conclusion of the narrative -- pacing was just not quite what I had hoped for, especially after waiting for them to be truly together!

Many thanks to Holly Kerr, Three Birds Press, and NetGalley for this ARC!

Thank you to NetGalley, Three Birds Press, and Holly Kerr for the #arccopy of Falling for the Suitor in exchange for an honest review.

OUT JANUARY 25, 2022.

This book is basically like reading the bachelor, so if you are a fan of the show, you will *probably* like this book. There are one-on-ones between a producer and a contestant at the beginning of each chapters, the book is dual POV so you get to see both sides of the relationship and all the miscommunications that occur, and Kerr has a funny take on things that almost definitely happen in the bachelor world.

I really liked the scenes that they had together, and I thought that they had good chemistry/banter, but because of the entire premise of the show, there were a lot of chapters focused on other girls and their dates with the suitor, which took away from Bexley + Grayson quite often. It was understandable in the context, but ultimately, not what I am usually looking for in a romance. Because of that, it also made the plot—especially the ending—feel rushed, like they weren’t given the proper time to develop their relationship. Although, anyone who watches the bachelor or knows anything about it knows that that’s actually pretty accurate!

Also, it has to be said that there were a lot of typos and my editor brain cannot handle that. It drove me a bit crazy throughout reading.

Overall, if you enjoy reality shows and/or the bachelor, then you might enjoy this read!
