This is a sweet romance that holds your attention from the first page until the last. It deals with real life problems and was an absolute joy to read! I look forward to reading more books by this author.
I received a complimentary copy from BooksGoSocial via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I received a complimentary copy of New Beginnings in Exchange for an honest review. I am always mindful of writing reviews and understand the importance of them.

I really struggled with New Beginnings, and found myself skimming, and then skipping most of the book just to finish. It was just a random group of people dialoguing about going to the grocery store, feeding kittens, going out for drinks, etc. There were way too many characters and only one or two of them would have added value to the story. The remaining characters were just a distraction and a way to "fill" the pages with unnecessary dialogue.

As a reader, I never got the opportunity to feel a connection between Justin and Sophia, and I kept waiting to read more about the ranch, the PTSD, and a purpose for this book, but it never happened. Unfortunately New Beginnings was not a good fit for me.

I adore the setting for this book but I must agree with others - this book reads like a young adult novel, not adult. It's not only the protag's personality, but the writing style as a whole has a very young tone - the characters and writing are also sickly sweet.

After the juvenile altercation between Justin and Colt at the stables, I threw in the towel.

This is the first book a read by Deborah King, unfortunately the story didn’t grab me. The voices of the characters felt too young for their given ages. Maybe I was not the right audience for this one.

New Beginnings is my first book by Deborah King. Really enjoyed her writing style. The characters are people with flaws just like real people and you want them to be happy. A story of family, dreams, romance and most of all having a new beginning. This is the first book in a new series so I'm anxious to read more!

I really liked the story line and given that I read the book before it's actual publish date so that I could provide an honest review I am going to just review based on the characters and story. The characters were fun, real like, and made you want to be their friend. The story was unique but not unbelievable. I think there could have been more things added to keep the love story brewing before the first I love you's were said but still a good story. I would recommend this book to my friends to read providing some of the paragraphs were added to or taken out as some seemed to be just space fillers and did not quite flow with the rest of the story.

Based in Colorado (northwest) sous chef Sophie Tucker has a network of friends and colleagues who keep her grounded. She's happy when she can persuade the compassionate new owners of her family's homestead to support her dream of using her skills to help the property's PTSD therapy clients. She can't help but assume the irresistibly gorgeous foreman is her soulmate when she's reminded of the ranch's natural splendour.

As if managing the kitchen wasn't stressful enough, the once wannabe chef learns something unexpected about her ancestry. Sophie is worried that her once bright future may be ruined by the secrets that the guy she loves is hiding from her.

King touches on some life experiences like grief, love and relationships that are written well. Sometimes the emotions are brief and blunt, which can be hard to relate to. I feel like King could really bring out the characters to suit their personalities in the next novel well.

Whilst King set up a unique romantic story, I couldn’t help but feel that ‘New Beginnings’ was a little lacking. The final part of this story takes place over a short period and packed with action, that could have been spread over the story/novel and not left until the end.

New Beginnings would suit people wanting to read a lazy Sunday romantic novel.

New beginnings is the first book that I have read by Deborah King. It is a story about family, friends, and forgiveness with a little romance thrown in. This story is the first in the Inspiration in Misty Valley series. I loved how the characters are imperfect, because that makes them more relatable and feel so real. I really loved how the characters accepted each other for who they are in the here and now instead of judging them by the mistakes that they made in the past, which we could all learn from and do better here in the real world. If you are looking for a fast and clean romance full of imperfect characters, then this is the book for you.

I tried but just couldn't finish this book. I felt that the writing was aimed at a very young audience, the characters "voices" seemed much younger than their given ages, and the beginning was abrupt. This is supposed to be a new series but it seemed like the reader should have already been familiar with all the characters.

This one just wasn't for me. I think it should be remarketed as new adult rather than women's fiction.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review, but my opinions are my own.

An easy read of a romance set in beautiful surroundings. A pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I’m afraid I just couldn’t take to this book. I read 75% of it but just couldn’t keep going to the finish as I found it too dull. When you start the book it feels as though you’ve been dumped partway through it, but then it never seems to progress at all; even the supposedly shocking twists are kind of brushed under the rug. Also the language used comes across as quite immature, to the point where it feels as though all the main characters are high school students rather than adults

Quick, enjoyable romance story with lots of families bonds and interesting characters. I love that cover most of all as it depicts exactly how I imagined the settings of this story.
