Unfortunately, this was not very well written and I struggled to finish it. It felt like reading a collection of young adult horror stories. Just not my cup of tea, I'm afraid.

As an anthology, I expected some stories to be better than others. But the first left me with a bad taste in my mouth as it was a good idea that read like fanfiction. The author isn’t bad, but I think some of these stories need expanding into longer works with editorial advice; others just didn’t work for me. Sorry!

I love short stories because you can easily read one and go to bed before 3/4 AM like you would do if you found a good book, with anthologies you just read the one and can close the book and put it down without thinking too much about it.
This is true but at the same time false for this book, sometimes the story was too good and I would keep on thinking about that, looking for another “dose” and keeping on reading.

I was really excited to read this. Horror anthology is such a fantastic genre, but the stories in this just fell flat. They failed to reveal the questionable parts of our selves and our desires as horror so usually does. Nor did it give the satisfying feeling for elevating my heartbeat in a controlled environment that is so satisfying about horror. Just an overall disappointment.

A collection of short stories that are scary, gruesome, mysterious, and not for the faint of heart. Paranormal, and the unexplained are explored in this horror anthology.

I was given this ARC by the publisher in return for an honest review. Thank you!!

I loved this!! I love all things horror and gore and this was fantastic. I did think the stories in the beginning of the anthology were better than the end but I still really enjoyed it! Really really good horror stories in there and I loved the diversity of topics!! There’s a little something for every horror buff in this one!

Gory, ghastly, and sometimes very good, Vicious Traditions is a solid collection of horror short stories.

Don't remember too much about this book but Goodreads says I rated it 4 stars. I really need to start writing notes for when I forget to write reviews right away

Vicious traditions was a really fun and somewhat creepy fairy tale like collection of short stories, most of them reinventing another older stories but with different twists and many of them with a good amount of blood added to the mix. It was an enjoyable read!

There was a lot of gore, sure, but the horror of it didn't feel intense. Some of the stories felt too short but they were ok. It would be good for teenagers in a library but not fully adult horror.

An anthology of very short "horror" stories.

Most of these stories left me feeling confused, they are really really short and a lot felt like they were companion pieces to full books, rather than short stories.
There were a few that I would have loved to continue but most failed to capture my interest.

A good collection of short horror stories. This collection was filled with things that I love: Revenge, blood, horror and good, fleshed out main characters. The writing was good and made the stories flow with ease. I really liked the varying lengths of each story. I will be on the lookout for more books from this author.

Every story in this anthology has a theme that is unique in its own way, in the sense of how there is always a back story behind why someone is the way they are. While some stories were a miss, overall it is a great creepy collection. I would recommend this to an older teen, as there are some trigger warnings and heavier topics like assault, along with plenty of gore.

Love. Betrayal. Murder.
A girl's curiosity leads her to a vampire coven.
A lonely driver searches the night for runaway girls with devastating consequences.
An aging actress will do anything… If I you are wanting a great escape this is exactly the book you will want to read. You will be so glad you did! The premise of this book sounded interesting from the very beginning.

The stories were unique and spooky. However, they were underwhelming and the protagonists all felt very similar to each other.

Thank you NetGalley for the arc.

A collection of short horror stories that would be great to tell in the dark or around a campfire.

While not super scary some of them definitely got my heart racing and some didn't scare me at all but definitely infiltrated my brain. (I haven't stopped thinking about the desert one, and the cursed lake would make an excellent movie.)
A lot of this book was made of original stories which I enjoyed but I found that while these were entertaining they didn't quite quite complete in the sense that some of them were quite a few pages when they didn't need to be and some were very short and I would have loved more detail.
If you like scary but not the kind that makes you check your closets before bed then this is for you. I would love another collection to read and I imagine they would be even scarier.

As far as publisher info, a couple of stories get the names interchanged. I could figure out what it meant after a couple re-reads but it did cause a little confusion.

I would love to see some of these as full book to be honest, I know they are short stories but there are a few that could have definitely been an amazing full length book!

Boys of Summer
Fields of Blood
Baby Teeth
One for the Money, Two for the Show
Red Snow
Across the Woods

Great horror anthology filled with gory tales. This is definitely a must read for any horror fan and I'd love to see more from the authors.

I’m sorry, I really wanted to like this book, but it needs A LOT, A LOT of edition. The ideas behind some of the stories are good but are badly executed, and it was tedious trying to finish them.
Obviously some authors here love horror but they need to put more work into their writings. Sorry.

This was a great collection of creepy/horror short stories.
Def. a great read for horror fans.
These stories would be really good also if they made full length novels out of them. Maybe it is something that the authors will think about.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC and for allowing me to read in return for an honest review.

This is an anthology of short horror stories from supernatural creatures to the darkest of humankind. It is important to check trigger warnings for this one. If you’d like something like and fun but gory to read, this is your book!
