Oh how I enjoyed this book. Relatable characters, relatable relationships, a nice easy to read writing style, just a perfect read to lose yourself in for a few hours.

Lorelai has a secret, one she has only ever shared with best friend Joanie. When she kisses someone, she sees how they will die. The trauma causes her such pain and extreme nightmares that she hasn't kissed anyone since she was 18. Then she meets Grayson. Grayson whom she wants to kiss. Can she find a way to share her secret and have the relationship she so desperately craves?

This was the first book I've read by this author, but it definitely will not be the last!

Initially, I found it hard to gel with this book, however, I did later warm to it. I think my main issue was with the character's name - Lorelai - I found it didn't quite fit with the book.

However, the book was well written, the characters believable and the story moved at a leisurely pace.

Lorelai has a gift - with one kiss she can see how the person's death. Lorelai has been hiding this gift since her teens when she saw the deaths of two boys she had kissed.
She has abstained from getting involved with any other men until one night, Grayson walks into her life.

An enjoyable read.

What a clever premise for a story! At first glance you think it sounds like a cool power to have, but the author does a great job at making you feel the pain and anguish felt by Lollie with her unbearable nightmares as she replays death scenes in her head.
Lollie has become so adept at shutting people out it obviously takes some time for her to get used to letting people in again. I loved the twist at the end in terms of the unexpected support and understanding she received… didn’t see that coming!

have really enjoyed all of Carrie Hope Fletcher’s previous books, so I was very excited to be approved to read her latest release via netgalley. Meet Lorelai, who can see how a person is going to die when she kisses them on the lips. Is she dealing their fate when she kisses them? Can she change the outcome? She doesn’t know. So she forsakes romantic relationships to protect herself. And then she meets Grayson. This was a sweet read, which I actually read in one sitting whilst hunkering down inside as storm Eunice raged on outside. As always with CHF books, I liked the fantasy/ paranormal addition to what otherwise would be standard chick lit. I just felt that with this one, the romantic relationship wasn’t given enough attention. I was more invested in Lorelai’s relationships with best friend Joanie, colleague Riggs and her ever so slightly estranged mother than I was with the will they/ won’t they between her and Grayson. I also thought the ending was rushed. All in all, I enjoyed this and I am glad I read it, but not one of CHF’s best novels.

A poolside holiday read.
I finished it in a few days, enjoyed it with a cuppa and a blanket. It's a nice read and enjoyable but the writing doesn't grip you. Although it's not written badly at all and the concept is great!

I enjoyed reading this book, it was well written with good characterisation and an interesting, if not somewhat far fetched storyline. It was a quick, easy and cute read that although it was far reaching was still a good read.

I so wanted to live this book, but it just didn't grab me at all. Even though it's very well written, the story was a little bit far fetched for me, I found I was drifting off, reading it.

It is an adult fairy tale about a girl called Lorelai, who has a gift, she doesn't want, when she kisses people. The story follows how she deals with this gift and falling in Love for the first time.

Was so looking forward to reading this book, but I actually found it rather far fetched. sorry to say this book was just not for me.

I am very grateful to have received this ARC courtesy of @hqstories ahead of the publication date. I couldn’t put this down and can’t believe this is the first novel of Carrie’s I have read!

I think my favourite part of this book was the friendship between Lorelai and Joanie! I felt their friendship was so genuine and it really read how much they loved and cared for each other. I also really enjoyed Carrie’s writing style and found it perfectly paced and easy to read. I found myself giggling out loud very often in this which I think is rare for me. I’m a sucker for a romance novel but they can get quite samey and so I really enjoyed the magical element throughout this that added something extra.

I don’t want to give too much away as it’s something I’d definitely recommend reading when it comes out on 14th April.

Sadly, this book wasn't for me. I'd hoped, having read Carrie's first book and not enjoyed it that much, that it might have improved. For me, it didn't, which is a shame because I do love Carrie as a person.

The plot was an interesting concept but the execution wasn't amazing. The main issue was the MC was so annoying! So much backstory could have been cut because I found I just...didn't care. And the romance was way too quick imo, considering how often they met.

The writing was quick to read but in places felt very 'young'.

Sadly, I think this might have to be the last Carrie book I pick up, to save any more negative reviews.

This book is one not to be missed. An magical read with delightful characters and an original narrative destined for the big screen. I absolutely loved this book.

I'm sorry I was really looking forward to this but it just fell short. Nothing really happened, the main character really irritated me with the overblown 'woe is me' and the heroes were wet weekends. I've loved her other books but this was a letdown.

Great characters, great cinema (I really want to go to a movie marathon there) and lovely story.
Lorelai really wants love, a lasting relationship but having discovered a nasty side-effect to kissing she has steered clear for years, relying on a line from a 1980's movie to avoid kissing in intimate situations..
However Grayson changes that...she really, really wants to kiss him!
Having confided in her best friend she sets out to experiment on whether her curse can be changed or lifted, allowing her the relationship she so desperately wants.

Moving, funny, endearing and with a great twist on the girl meets boy this is well worth a read!

A really beautiful story that catches your heart and makes you really feel for the main character as she gois along her journey of exploration

I really enjoyed the concept of this book and how Lorelai dealt with her abilities however, I felt like there was something lacking in Lorelai and Grayson's relationship, it felt constantly like they were chasing each other and when it all finally fell into place it was a little bit rushed. Although their relationship missed the mark, Lorelai's relationship with Joanie and her mother was heartwarming and had some beautiful progression through the book. I just think that the romance was missed slightly here,

Firstly, I have to start by saying this has a gorgeous cover! I was excited to start this and the premise sounded really good; heartwarming with some supernatural thrown in. I did really enjoy the plot, I found it interesting, romantic and full of lovely moments. However, for me, the writing just is not improving. I do not know what it is but there is always something missing and something childlike about the writing and it does dampen my enjoyment. The flow of the book was a bit off as well which was a shame. On the whole, I did like the plot.

The characters are lovely, they are likeable and interesting people to get to know and they carry the story well. I particularly liked the many references to theatre and London life, something Fletcher knows well and it did show.

On the whole I did enjoy 'With This Kiss', it was just missing a bit of extra sparkle for me.

This book was intriguing from page one and I was hooked straight away. It is a well written, descriptive story with great characters and a unique and fascinating storyline. I really enjoyed it and found it quite hard to put down. Despite being a little drawn out at times the ending was very moving.

Lorelai is lovely, I really liked her and her friend Joanne. They were both full of character, humour and so well written that I could picture their lives in the cinema. The only thing that bugged me with her was all her introspection I got that what she was dealing with was huge...who wouldn't be freaked out by seeing the way someone dies when you kiss them, but I wanted to give a nudge at times to get on with things. I loved Grayson, he was so kind and understanding. I liked his humour and honesty.

I found the second half a little drawn out with Lorelai's procrastination, which I found a little wearing at times. I understood her reasons but just wanted less introspection and more getting on with it. Having said that it's a really clever idea and definitely an original idea, with plenty of romance.

To relive these visions within her nightmares means she has never figured if her kiss is a bad omen or whether the fate of these individuals is a locked destiny, she refuses to risk anyone else's life, even it means subjecting herself to a life without companionship.

I loved Lorelai's character, it was easy to fall in love with how much she loves books and her work at the cinema may not be ideal for everyone but imagine spending some days serving popcorn with your best friend and roommate and sharing the euphoria of audiences/customers arriving to see a classic or a favourite movie sounds nice and it was a cute story for the most part. I think this was better suited to being a Young Adult fiction novel because of the nature of the story. There wasn't as much romance due to the distance created by Lorelai's curse and the bond between Grayson and Lorelai felt almost superficial for that reason and I could not sense the connection between them. In terms of a starred crossed lovers tale, I did not understand Grayson's appeal as there wasn't enough character development on that front either. Lorelai's vision were scary but it was no less than a thriller fantasy for those small parts of the book and so it may have fared better for a younger audience. I definitely enjoyed reading about Lorelai's bond with her Grandmother and loved how that developed within the storyline. I think it was a pleasant read and interesting premise but I was just expecting a bit more depth hence my rating.
