A great book about friendships. I loved the way the characters were brought together, with some interesting twists. Well thought out and good characters. This book had me smiling, crying and cheering the characters on.

Top celebrity Chef Cliff Whitman is killed in a car accident and all the main newspapers are after the big exclusive. -Who was the young woman in the passenger seat?
-Is she pregnant?
-Is the baby Cliff's?
-What does Cliff's ex Joanna think about it all?

Joanna who is an old hand at living with media attention comes up with a plan to buy them both a bit of time. She takes Ashley with her and they both disappear of the radar for a week or two. They go back to the beach house at Silver Point where Joanna grew up.

This is a wonderful story about learning to deal with past trauma and wrong doings, a journey of self discovery, growing up and friendships and a realisation that family doesn't always have to always be blood related.

I love Sarah Morgan books and although they can be a little bit predictable, I always feel like I'm being welcomed back to her writing with a big cosy hug and an all's well that ends well finale!

What a gorgeous book, I enjoyed every single page of this book. I wanted everyone in the story to have their happy ever after especially Joanne and Ashley. They were such lovely characters and I would have liked to be friends with all of them. Sarah Morgan is one of my favourite authors and this book just cements this even more.

Have always enjoyed Sarahs books and this one did not disappoint. A lovely feel good summer read.

Joanna learns of her ex husband Cliffs death via the news. He is killed in a car crash but an unknown young female in the car with him, survives, although has serious injuries and in hospital. News creeps out that the woman is pregnant and speculation begins as to whether Cliff is the father. He is well known to be a ladys man.

Joanna knows exactly who the young girl is....Ashley....and what her relationship with Cliff is. Joanna decides to escape the papparazzi, eager for information, and sneaks Ashley from the hospital to a secret hideaway home where Joanna grew up.

Joanna is adamant she doesnt want to leave their secret hiding place forstly to avoud the papp and secondly to avoid the people she grew up with before mysyeriously disappearing.

Joanna and Ashley form a strong bond, full of trust where both of them face secrets from the past, which link both of them.

A lovely read....highly recommend.

Joanna Whitman had a very high profile marriage to celebrity chef Cliff Whitman, before divorcing him after 20 years. When she hears of his death, whilst he was out driving with a teenage girl, she realises that her life is still very public. Ashley, the girl who was with Cliff when he died, soon begins to understand that her life is no longer private. Can Joanna and Ashley find somewhere to hide, and can Joanna face the friends she left behind for Cliff 20 years earlier?

A story written from 3 points of view - Joanna, her former best friend Mel, and Ashley - which in turn shows us that everything is not always as you believe.

Another good read from Sarah Morgan.

What a gem of a book. It has all the essential ingredients of a summer read. The characters are great. I felt that I wanted to become a friend of theirs and become part of their community. It’s one of those books that I read more slowly towards the end as I didn’t want it to finish.

Once again Sarah has written another exceptional book.

I really loved this one and could actually quite happily read it again and I don't say that about many books.

The story was all about friendships and relationships and it was superb. Lovely character choices too.

This story is written from three women's perspective and makes for a great read.

The characters are really well developed and although a bit far fetched in places this does leave with you with a real good feel factor.

All I want is a gorgeous house on a cliff top with it's own beach and within walking distance of a warm hearted community with a surf cafe selling perfect pancakes. However, as my life isn't that perfect (yet) at least I can read about one in Sarah Morgan's latest!

Ashley is young, friendless and pregnant, Joanna's ex husband has just died leaving her once again at the heart of a media storm and Mel is battling with her teenage daughter. When Joanna makes the decision to retreat to her (stunningly rebuilt) childhood home, taking Ashley with her, old friendships are rekindled, old secrets are revealed and maybe, just maybe, second chances become possible.

Beach House Summer is a warm read about friendship, loss and community. The perfect beach read (even if you don't get the house to go with it!).

The book had it all, the glitz and horror of Hollywood, female friendship, awful family, supportive family- and Jo who had almost lost herself completely in her bid to blend in. Everything about this book is captivating. This novel is impossible to put down.

This book is way out of my comfort zone as I normally go for psychological thrillers but I was pleasantly surprised, it was a nice change.

It was well written with good characters and did keep me interested in the story line. I can thoroughly recommend this book and thank you to Netgalley and HQ Publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

Another excellent novel from Sarah. Jo and Mel we’re very close friends when growing up, but life took different pathways to what they had originally hoped. This is a delightful story full of warmth and friendship, showcasing how small communities, friends and families can all work together providing support. Thank you Sarah.

Thanks NetGalley for the opportunity to read this in advance.
I like Sarah Morgan's books and always know that I'm in for an escape into friendship, lovely surroundings with enough drama to keep me entertained but not keep me awake at night. Beach House Summer is as expected, and I really wanted to know why everything happened - past and present. I loved the friendship of Joanna and Mel, Nate and Greg and then the developing friendship of Joanna and Nessa. I have to confess to not being completely enamoured with the friendship of Joanna and Ashley, but that could be down to my own reluctance at being told what to do... however well intended. A perfect Summer read, or a great justification to snuggle into your quilt and disappear where the sun shines, the waves lap over your toes and the friendships developed during school years continue to be supportive and loving, but there is still the angry daughter to remind you that this could all be real.

A great summer read. I've just read 5 books in a week on holiday and this one was my favourite.
I have become a big Sarah Morgan fan.
Great characters and always great locations.
While this one was mainly set on the American coast, I could actually imagine it being Cornwall, and I think that added to the enjoyment.
An enjoyable easy read, with one or two twists.

You can rely on Sarah Morgan for a thumping good book that you can completely lose yourself in! Full of friendships, family, love, romance and a strong community spirit makes Beach House Summer a fabulous read - perfect for reading while relaxing on a beach, with a cool drink and the sounds of the waves gently lapping on the beach! Joanne, Ashley, Nate, Mel, Nessa, Greg and the community of Silver Point are brought to life, springing from the pages of the book and making you feel invested in their stories. Perfect escapism! I loved it!

When Joanna and Ashley are thrown together they become a formidable team.
I particularly liked Ashley’s rules for dating…I might copy them down for future reference!
This is a story about family, relationships and priorities. A really lovely book.

Another winner from Sarah Morgan.
I really enjoyed reading it. Nothing complicated, just a great storyline with characters you grow to care about.
A perfect book for the beach!

For me this is a different Sarah Morgan. So often her books take us on an adventure, Paris, snowymountains, all beautifullyresearched.
This one is more of a story about emotions and relationships. It is as always, very well written, but unlike other reviewers , I became tired of the story of the rescue of Ashley by Joanna.
Ashley had an affair with Joanna's late, very well known, husband and the paparazzi are ready to strike full force.
Off theywent to a beach house despite Joanna's need for privacy. It's an unlikely friendship but it seemed towork..
It wasnt a book that made me feel I would like to read it again, but thanks to NetGalley for a review copy.

Another completely captivating & enjoyable story by Sarah Morgan. We meet Joanna who finds out her famous, celebrity chef ex-husband has died in a car accident. As Joanna is still business partner to her ex, the media still persue her for any news they can find, and this accident is a perfect scoop. Her ex was a serial womaniser that Joanna put up with throughout their marriage, so when the story breaks that a young woman was also in the car, it shouldn't be a surprise, however we are yet to find out who she is. Under almost house arrest due to the media, Joanna decides to return back to her home town to hide out, a place she hasn't been to in years, a place that holds secrets, memories and reignited friendships. An absolute must read.
