This book reminded me that there is nothing more important than showing kindness to others. Despite being thrown together in circumstances beyond their expectations Ashley and Joanna show care and compassion towards each other. They both remind the reader of what's important in life and how true friends will support you through any circumstances. I loved all the characters and their loyalty towards each other. Definitely worth picking up. One to make you smile and reflect on your own friendships.

Fabulous Summer read!

This book is not what I thought it was going to be when I picked it up. It has had me reading into the night and I have loved every page.

There is a clear community feel and the role of women in taking control of their lives is clear.

I loved the romance and relationships between friends, family and couples.

Perfect feel good summer book!

The perfect summer read!! The story builds with intrigue, a death, scandal and a high profile celebrity running from the pressure of the media back to her hometown that she hasn't been to for twenty years. She has the perfect retreat in the form of an amazing beach house but takes a surprising guest for company and then has to deal with facing her past.

A fast and fabulous read as ever from Sarah Morgan and there's always the hope that the characters in this book will make it into a sequel - fingers crossed!!!

I loved this book – it's definitely one of my favourites that I've read by Sarah Morgan!

Such an interesting intertwined story of love, loss and new friendships formed..

Joanna is desperately trying to preserve her privacy after her celebrity husband's unexpected death. She forges a friendship with Ashley and at last a lot of old secrets are revealed before they can forge ahead and plan their future. There are a lot of hurdles to overcome but together they can draw on each other's strengths to survive.

I love Sarah's books. I was really convinced that Sarah lives in the idyllic Californian sun, such was the convincing description of the luxurious location of the book. Loved it!

Joanna finds out her ex husband, celebrity chef Cliff is dead via the news on tv. He is in a car with a much younger girl and the press reports that she is pregnant. The press are in their element doing all they can to track down the young lady in hospital whilst also camping out at Joanna’s. For once Joanna has had enough, she is fed up of hiding from the press and decides to return to her childhood home, taking with her the girl who had been in Cliff’s car. But is all as it seems with Ashley and is her pregnancy as clear cut as the press implies. A really lovely story about love and supporting each other.

Such a fun read for this bank holiday weekend. Although this latest novel from @sarahmorganwrites begins with a serious road traffic accident, the events that follow are full of friendship, hope and love. Morgan can always be relied on to supply the perfect holiday read. Joanna is thrown into a negative media spotlight frenzy when her ex husband and business partner is found in a fatal road traffic collision alongside an unknown young female. The pregnant 18year old Ashley finds herself propelled into the media spotlight after a quiet upbringing following the accident. Both women surprisingly end up seeking solace and privacy together in a secluded beach house. Revelations shake up their new acquaintance, but the small community welcomes them warmly and offers up lots of surprising and fun opportunities. I love the sense of community, love, friendhip and hope. #beachhousesummer

I really enjoyed this book. A believable story with excellent characters. A little romance but basically about friends and relationships, very well written. A beautiful setting too!

This, like most Sarah Morgan books I’ve read (and I think I may have read nearly all of them) was a fantastic bit of escapism and a delight to read. I liked the fact this is focused on family relationships more than the romance so much. I always love Sarah’s descriptions of places it has me wanting to go the beach, have some summer sun, blue skies and a picnic on the beach. Beach House Summer is the perfect beach read, what else would you want on holiday than a story about fresh starts, new opportunities and second chance romance , this is perfect escapism

Thank you NetGalley for my advance copy of this book. I love Sarah Morgan’s books so was delighted to have an advance copy. I enjoyed this book, it was a lovely read all about second chances and friendship. I am a fan of Sarah’s books and even though I didn’t enjoy it as much as some of her others, overall it was a good read and I would recommend it.

Well this was the perfect book on my holiday. I love her writing, she really transports you to the destination and gives you the feel of the atmosphere. The only gripe I had was it was probably a bit longer than I thought totally necessary but I did enjoy it throughout and would definitely recommend.

A lovely beach read.

Joanna was married to a famous chef Cliff who wasn’t the best husband and after 20 years she divorced him. She was eating breakfast when she finds out her ex has died in a car accident with a mystery woman. Ashley had to confront Cliff about something and was in the car accident too. Did she cause the accident? What did she have to say to Cliff?

Loved all the characters in this book and they were all well written. A beautiful book to enjoy on the beach this summer.

When Joanna Whitman's famous ex-husband dies in a car accident, she has mixed emotions. Their marriage was turbulent, and often portrayed badly in the media. So when Joanna discovers that a young and pregnant Ashley has survived the crash, she feels compelled to help her. Joanna suggests they lie low at her beach house, and wait for the media storm to pass. However, going back to the place she grew up brings back some painful memories... including the man she left behind twenty years ago.

This is a perfect book to pick up this summer, with themes around friendship and love, a beachside location and even celebrity scandal! It's lighthearted, but not your typical beach read... I thought the storyline was original, and offered pure escapism to the Californian coast. I had read a few Christmas books by Sarah Morgan, but this was the first one I had read set in the summer... and boy, it did not disappoint!

Each chapter centres on one of the three females, and slowly builds up a picture of their rocky pasts. I particularly loved the unlikely friendship that blossomed between Joanna and Ashley... lovely to read about two women supporting each other rather than tearing each other down! Highly recommend if you're after something feel-good for the summer months!

⛱️ oh what a wonderful, heart warming story. It all started out rather different to my usual romancey stories. There was a car crash and mystery. But as the story unfolded it was a dream read.

☀️ A cast of characters that bring together a story of drama, friendships and love.

🏖 If you're off on your holiday this is the perfect book to take with you to wind down by the pool, or the beach.

Sarah Morgan is one of my favourite authors, it seems to have become a tradition that I eagerly await and read her latest book every summer and Christmas. Every novel is heart warming and joyful with carefully crafted characters that you instantly connect and empathise with. Beach House Summer is no different in this respect to any of Sarah’s previous novels and has lived up to my high expectations. Although there is a little bit of childhood sweetheart romance and a few ‘will they, wont they’ moments, my favourite aspects of Beach House Summer are the unexpected friendship between Joanne and Ashleigh as well as the support and solidarity they receive from the residents of Silver Point.

Wonderfully written with loveable characters, Beach House Summer is the perfect escapist novel to read relaxing in the summer sun. I have my fingers and toes crossed for a sequel!

Beach House Summer is my first time reading a book by Sarah Morgan – and it proved to be the perfect feel-good summer read, the ideal mix of friendship, romance and drama.

When Joanna Whitman’s ex-husband and celebrity chef Cliff dies in a car accident, in an effort to avoid media attention she returns to the California seaside town that she grew up in but that she left abruptly over twenty years earlier. As someone who hated the media scrutiny life with her ex-husband brought, she feels compelled to help Ashley, a teenage girl who was in the car with Cliff but survived and offers to take her with her. For Joanna, returning to her home town stirs up difficult memories and brings her face to face with people she hasn’t seen for a long time, including Nate, the boyfriend she left behind, and his twin sister Mel who was her best friend growing up.

As old friendships are rebuilt and an unlikely new one formed between Joanna and Ashley, I loved the fact that the story is told from the perspective of three strong women, Joanna, Ashley and Mel, all of whom have their own issues to deal with. I loved the characters and the community spirit that pervaded the town, and Silver Point sounds like a place I’d like to visit! With a “will they, won’t they” romance as Joanna and Nate reconnect, and an element of mystery as long-held secrets are revealed, this is a book that had a bit of everything and is the ideal escapist read, one of those books that that leaves you with a warm glow.

It’s starting to become a tradition that I read Sarah Morgan at Christmas and in the Summer, and I’m here for it!
Sarah Morgan has a wonderful way of bringing characters to life with a strong emphasis on female relationships between friends and family.
I loved the relationship between Joanna and Ashley, they had never met previously but they unknowingly needed each other more than anyone else and develop a sincere relationship. I liked that the story is more focused on Joanna finding herself again and forming friendships (both old and new).
Great summer read!

Sarah Morgan is one of my go-to authors when I'm looking for a heartwarming, feel-good read and she doesn't disappoint with her latest book Beach House Summer which features two women, Joanna and Ashley, who were complete strangers but soon their lives become entwined. Their paths might not have crossed in the most conventional of manners but in their times of need, they are both there to support and encourage one another to take the steps necessary to move on with their lives.

From the outset I was asking myself what would I have done in Joanna's shoes and I'd like to think that I'd have been as welcoming, especially once the full details are revealed, but until you are in the same situation I don't think anyone really knows how they'd react. It also took guts for Ashley to take matters into her own hands even if the outcome ended in the most devastating of circumstances and left her feeling even more alone.

I loved the whole concept of escaping from the spotlight to a remote beach side house to come to terms with the way your life has been turned upside down. For Joanna it's a chance to re-evaluate her life after putting up with so much from her philandering ex-husband who she still worked with running the business side of things. What's in store for her now? Whereas for Ashley, it's a chance to come to terms with everything and decide what she wants to do next.

As for the setting, the Californian beach town of Silver Point sounded like the perfect place to run to for them to recuperate although for Joanna she also had some ghosts to lay to rest and friendships to repair having left the town so suddenly 20 years ago. But with the beach on your doorstep, and a vibrant community welcoming you with open arms, how could you not cast your demons and fears aside and make new plans for the future?

Friendships, old and new, are at the heart of this novel and it was great to see both Joanna and Ashley blossom as the story progressed. Both women had suffered greatly in the past and it's only over time that they can heal and move on.

I hope that this not the last that we see of Joanna, Ashley and the rest of the community of Silver Point even if it was just a catch-up novella at some point in the future.

Another lovely read from Sarah Morgan; another book that did not disappoint. I was quickly immersed in this story following three women and loved the summery setting, making it a relaxing drama that became full of hope and optimism for the future.

One element that Morgan always brings to her books is the way that the plot follows central female figures. For me, this has yet to grow stale and I liked how contrasting the women were in this story. Initially seeming very disparate, Ashley, Joanna and Mel gradually come together. I enjoyed seeing the connections revealed and established between the three characters, with them eventually being brought together at Silver Point on the Californian coastline. Over the story it becomes clear how the women know each other in the past and this merges effortlessly with the developing plot in the present. Aided by the chapters being told from each character’s perspective, I felt invested in each of the women and were keen for them all to find their happy ever after.

Ashley, Joanna and Mel are all contrasting in background and personalities. However, I liked the way that they come to need each other to enable them to start afresh. Even Mel, who seems to be a flawless mother that seems to be simply worrying about what is best for her daughter, Eden, has plenty to learn, and I appreciated how Ashley’s character was more world-wisely than her peers. It made a change to see a young character being able to impart advice to others around her as usually it is the older characters who traditionally are offering guidance.

Cooking is a theme throughout the book because of Joanna’s ex-husband, Ashley’s role, and even the significance of the Surf Cafe. It creates a synergy in the story and is another device that Morgan uses to bring the different characters together. Coupled with the supportive community of Silver Point, this location is definitely one of my literary favourites and one that I yearned to visit!

This was such a well-written story that I felt a bit saddened when it had finished. I do wonder if Morgan has enough material to write a follow-up novel because I would be so keen to see what happens next with Ashley, Joanna and Mel. I don’t think the story is completely over yet and I would not be sorry to return to such an amazing location, perhaps featuring more of the community and even Mel’s daughter as a more prominent character.

If you have yet to sample any of Morgan’s writing, I think you will find it hard to find a clanger! This is a perfect summer read and, with ‘Beach’ in the title, what more could you want for your holiday novel?!
